Love this. The extreme vocals work well for this song. I dont think it would I would do this every time. Such extreme vocals I think would put a strain on the vocal chords. That and I like your normal singing a bit more.

Ive been a Týr fan since 2016 and I can say personally, this one of my top 3 Týr songs!!
This song is what got me into this, during online school when i had off time I'd go to CZcams and this song would always be in the recommended. I couldn't figure out why it was there since I don't even listen to music very much, eventually decided to listen and now I'm here

I feel like with Hel you guys gave a really big jump regarding production, composition and creativity with your music. I love The Lay of Thrym and Valkyrja, but Hel was an instant favorite from the first moment and i think is one of my fav top 10 albums of all bands i like

How could the entry song to an album called "Hel" be named other than "Gates of Hel"? I like that idea. The song is a showpiece for the band members' musical capabilities. Great and varied singing, brilliant guitar work, the drummer for sure did not die from boredom and yeah! the base has a solo allowing to shine :-) All that combined with a melody that sticks in the ears for the rest of the day... I love that song and how it was produced. Regarding that growling - it's not a virtue per se. It's good to hear that you could do it in case the song requires it :-)
Thank you for that observation :) We did our best, and we see the first song on the album as the best chance to leave a good impression, so it should have a bit of everything, and/or be one of the catchiest songs on the album. But at the same time it's very hard to predict the popularity of each song.
