Trek to Sandakphu starts from the picturesque village of Manebhanjan, a village near Darjeeling. Spanned across 5 days, the trek gives you the magnificient and best views of Kanchejunga ranges.
The trek offers august views of the Kanchenjunga and Makalu ranges along with a picturesque view of the Everest and Annapurna family. And the best thing about the trek is that, the view of the ranges stays with the trekker throughout the trek.
The trail from Sandakphu to Phalut is a long 21 km but is full of twists and turns. You cross through rocky and muddy paths, you will go through a trail of forest and you will also see the vast meadows under clear sky.
The landscape keeps changing. And the best is the view of Kanchenjunga from the green meadows. The day is a long one and is packed with every delight a trek has to offer.
This trek has trekker’s hut and home-stays throughout with very warm and hospitable people. They will go all out to make your stay comfortable. So there is no need to carry tents and ration.
Home-stays are available at Chitrey, Meghma, Tumling and Kalipokhri. Trekker’s hut are available at Tonglu, Sandakphu, Phalut and Gorkhey.

Is it mandatory to hire a guide for sandakphu or can I go solo from manebanjan.
You have to book a guide from manebhanjang if you are willing to trek..per day guide cost is 1000rs.

thanks for making this video , snow proof shoes hona chaiye kya ? humne winter trek nhi kia toh clothes layering kitni chaiye ? sleeping chaiye kya winter treks mein
It depends on the season you are going..if you choose winter trip and it is the month of january then i think snow proof shoes will be required else not required.. we went in december and snowfall was not huge..we used normal trekking shoes of rs 800..and it was enough.. take two hoodie jackets with you if you are going in winter trip because at the top of the hill you will feel freezing.

Yeh trekkers hut 2 jagah pe hai..tonglu mein ek hai..yeh jagah tumling se pehle aata hai.
Aur dusra Gairibas mein ek hai.

Cost of the trek
Approx 6k to 7k
If you are going in a big group then the cost will be approx 4k-5k
@@BongTravelerPaul can you suggest some official trekking services or how can we start
Start from NjP. You can get cab from there within 2000-3000 rs for Manebhanjang. Book a cab for Manebhanjang or you can go in share cab also ( in case of share cab reach to Sukhia bazar from Njp and from there take a cab to manebhanjang. In share cab total cost will be approx 700 rs). Stay 1 night in Manebhanjang.
Next day early morning take a travel guide and your permit from there and start trekking for Tonglu/Tumling (contact 08013823228). Stay there 1 night.
Next day morning start trekking for Gairibas/Kalipokhri. Stay there for 1 night.
Next day start for sandakphu (hotel sunrise: 8250871877, 9676256795)
I will suggest you to take atleast 7k-8k in hand..
