Hutu extremists were encouraged to take the "extermination" of Tutsis into their own hands. This resulted in things such as dismemberment being *significantly* more frequent, hence why something as small as a shoebox would function as a coffin.

I do like that the Sonic PSA is very casual in its approach (cuz Sonic is a cool dude see) and has him start by saying you should say "no" when being hugged by someone you don't feel comfortable hugging. Which is true in itself, but it also leads well into saying how any sort of contact or touch that makes you uncomfortable is worth speaking up about. It feels like a more natural approach when discussing boundaries and consent with kids. Or maybe I'm biased towards old school Sonic, I dunno
My dad's a fireman and used to visit my primary school to talk about fire safety and would show the Frances the Firefly PSA. There was a book for it as well, and he used to keep extra copies of the book under my bed as a child. I cannot explain the FEAR that Frances the Firefly instilled in me as a child, I couldn't even sleep thinking about the fact the books were under my bed
I wish I still had some copies! Used to have loads in the house but I think they might have ended up in the bin when the school visits stopped. They might have some dotted around the fire station though so might do an investigation!

Also, I'm searching a PSA that I don't remember the function, but I remember that was about a man who did dissections from volunteering people, he also showed the wallets from all the people who "killed". my favorite psa was the anti drunk driving video for my driving course, because when i skipped through it i immediately got to the part with a dead man's head split open from a drunk driver. phenominal.
after falling down a rabbit hole, i’ve noticed there’s a lot of ad council psas that nobody and i mean nobody has talked about. they don’t straw away from the topic and honestly they did make my skin crawl.
I wonder if someday would be better known a Chilean PSA about forest fires made by CONAF and shown during 1994 which was part of a pack of an artistic but unusually horrific campaign. Some of them are kinda... hellish, with a very Early-90s Black metal video clip aesthetic on them. But the more desired of them (and for a long time was lost media) is a somber one (also known as "The Pudu children" by the most remembered scene. The PSA includes scenes of helpless farmers and firefighters, moaning trees and in a very disturbing way, a reference to the three wise monkeys with the message "When you let the annihilation of the forest happens, something disappears in you... ", So the three men covering their ears, eyes and mouth reveal they don't even have those parts, No mouth, no ears, no eyes, not even sockets. "One silent witness is just another accomplice".

There's this one PSA I distinctly remember that I believe is Canadian. It starts as an ad for a fake energy drink that features people bungee jumping. Then after hanging on a freeze frame for a while with the fake energy drinks it cuts back to the people bungee jumping and one of the cords breaks killing the energetic guy in the advertisement. I can't even remember what it was trying to be a PSA for, I think some drug. I remember seeing it on 2007-2012 Canadian Movie DVDs.
I have vivid memory of me staying the night at a friend's house and she had put on the movie "The Hangover 3" just to have background noise as we just hung out. She fell asleep and just let the DVD run back to back credits and all. I remember it was the middle of the night and I saw the PSA before the movie started and I remember that faint creepy violin like music playing at the end of the PSA with the tagline "1 in 3 people will die smoking tobacco products" and the orange screen with the truth logo following after the tagline. It was honestly chilling seeing that in the dead of night.

I remember watching a compilation of international psa’s (I’m from the USA, for context) and there was a PSA I remember seeing that really stuck with me where it used the song “Cats in the Cradle” interspersed with a montage of a young man who is bound for prison after committing a brutal massacre and it was later revealed that his estranged father that he had never met, also led a similar life where he fell into a bad crowd and committed a similar crime. The message this psa was trying to make had to do with how every child deserves a great father or father figure to shape their lives, which influences the trajectory they might take later on in life. It was a great psa with a great concept and delivery but when I looked it up on CZcams, nothing comes up.
Dude you really sent me back with the Russian psa to keep kids from riding on trains! It's absolutely my favorite because of how amazingly creative and charming it is; plus the remix of Unfaithful that plays in the background is brilliant!!
