Honda Goldwing's have had reverse since 1988, that operates in the same way. In fact starting with the 2001 Goldwing, you just push a button on the H/B to put the bike into reverse, then use the starter button to move the bike backwards.

@@flippy6553 LOL Nice! I saw a few broken hinge pins, but people were more likely to lose the key before it broke! BMW original key blanks were steel and my shop was one of the few that could cut steel keys in Seattle, so we got our fair share of seeing those keys in their time. BMW always has a cool little "this" or "that" with their bikes which is one of the reasons I love them!

I picked up my R18 Bagger two weeks ago. A couple of things you didn't mention or don't know. The material over the instrument cluster is called sensatec. The bike has a sweet spot of between 2500 and 3000 rpm. When in this range, the bike has very little vibration. The ACC is brilliant when on the Autobahn (Highway). I have the Transcontinental screen on mine as it's higher. A couple of things aren't available at the moment like Sissy Bar and auxillery spotlights for the front (I have the crash bars at the front of the engine fitted to mine too). I used to have a Rocket III Touring which I loved and was a beast of a bike. As it's already winter over here in Germany, I haven't had much opportunity to get used to it so roll on spring. Liked your vlog, a bit more on the riding would have been nice to have too.

I have a 2002 and ride ALL OVER your state and beyond. NEVER had even a minor issue with it in 20 years, and can’t count how many Harleys I’ve helped out on the road….. 5-10 every year!!! The shared braking system and reverse was on Wings back then. Key fob activates the alarm, opens or locks the trunk and side bags, and a call button makes the bike come to you at the mall !!! (Okay, maybe that “call” button is going to be on a future model ! ). See you on the road…..

As usual, BMW never contradicts itself ... on a 427 kilos motorbike the reverse gear is of course OPTIONAL ... but the cost was contained according to the brand at only Euro 1,000.00 .... and of course also uphill braking called HSC is clearly OPTIONAL at a cost of only Euro 100.00. Now I can understand the Passionists of the straight lines and various chrome plating that spend thousands of euros more just for the pleasure of seeing the bike shine. But on a starting cost of Euro 28,100.00, how can you not include the two aforementioned accessories as standard is really shameful ... but from BMW we can only expect this ... plucking customers is its "DEFINITIVE" MISSION !!!! not to mention the other almost mandatory options that bring the bike in a NOT FULL version to almost Euro 33,600.00 !!!!!!!

It is produced in Berlin, but comes on the market for at least € 26,600 / $ 31,190 in the base price. The goodies described in the video again hit the bill with horrific surcharges. HD has cheapened out so badly, it’s a shame & a wonder they’re still alive. I ALWAYS wanted a Harley until I went and road one. I was SO heartbroken….. moneyed up ready to buy, already told friends about it, went in to buy it & put the skids on the idea right then and there. Finding out they were still in the dark ages on drive train probably was the biggest downfall, that stupid belt is cheap, cheap ! "Real man" must be a 60+ year old man missing 3/4 of his hair that thinks the lady at Hooters actually likes him despite his ED and whose wardrobe consists of $25 Harley dealer shirts that he is sure to pick no matter what forgetful city he's in.

This is a miss. Its quite ugly. The performance isnt impressive. Most baggers have all of these gadgets. The engine bulge is not good when you deal with the torque and the heat right at the feet area. Just pony up a bit more money and get an iconic Harley or Indian. If youre looking for refinement and power go look at the Honda Goldwings.

That could be the ugliest dash I have ever seen. They missed the mark on this bike and still push it.
