Either we can use Zinchenko-White or Tierney-Timber depends on who we play against.
In this short video, I've seen him pass comfortably with his right foot, his left foot, turn opponent under pressure, composed on tackle, not hide from receiving ball in tight spaces and happy to carry the ball forward.
It's enough for me to be happy with what's to come from him. He's got the all round base attributes to build on.

As an Ajax supporter i watched him play so many matches. Believe me he is one of the best dutch defenders. He played under Louis van Gaal in the dutch team and De Ligt, de Vrij where on the bench. To all the Arsenal fans. Enjoy him. He is for sure going to play and be really important.

Arteta wants unpredictability, not just sticking to one formation. He said he wants to have more options on how to play that's why he added these 3 players who can play multiple positions.

@@saewha that WAS quality not just quantity… what it seems you’re talking about is getting some players sold, which will happen… but compare this to the same time last year - where players came off the bench and the quality of football just fell… that wasn’t visible and for a first game together, there already seems to be a synergy. Timber looked like he’s been with us for a while now.
@@saewha there is also a need to create a churn in the talent; ie to prepare, so that we don’t have a manic rebuild once this team is passed it’s peak.
To that, certain talent is brought in to preseason with an eye for the future, or alternatively, to put them in the shop window. Some senior members who were not brought on tour Tavares, Cedric, Pepe etc. I foresee their exits being pretty close.

Timber very easy on the eyes.....seems always available to receive the ball. Nice.
He is not afraid of asking for the ball in almost any situation. That’s his strength. He adds so much to any defense cuz he is extremely comfortable on the ball and won’t think twice to dribble forward and become the extra midfield player when doing so.
The restraint in tackle at 2:04 is my favorite moment. A lot of defenders get sent off there. Obviously a really intelligent player. Can’t wait to see more!

I REALLY liked what I saw from Timber. He’s got a nice mix of aggression, composure, skill, and defensive acumen that fits Arteta’s squad beautifully. He’ll get plenty of minutes this season.
Believe me he is very soon in this season becoming a CORE player. I didn’t have ANY doubt he would easily fit into any top 6 premier league club. I actually expected Ten Hag to buy him but I think it’s only due to the limited United budget that Ten Hag chose to strengthen other positions in his squad. Timber is a mature player with already quite some impressive experience under his belt, that’s why he is super confident and will easily play himself into the first eleven very quick and become an unmissable player in Arsenal’s type of play.
