This is absolutely genius and revolutionary! I've seen people use this flat layer and slightly larger black layer for lineart method for other things and it opens the door to even more potential with vtubing and this program!
I haven't played with this much because I don't know how it would effect how the lineart would look, but that is such a non-issue that it can't be considered a flaw or con in this method. I'll just have to adapt my lineart style then lol.
Thank you for this tutorial! I don't know if I'll use it specifically for hand-tracking but it certainly sparked ideas and inspiration for other things and I'm grateful for that!
