Parking Trouble in Croatia-Must See!

- We were docked in Dubrovnik, Croatia and while we were overlooking some sort of supermarket we discovered that the people in this parking lot were having trouble parking straight. It is funny to watch.

The guy at 1:04 did a perfect Parking. He is in the lines, and has equal space on both sides of his car. If he would park in the middle, he would be too close to the guy parked left of him, thus risking damage to the cars by opening the door.
I'm not embarrassed to re-park. I always open my door to check where I am relative to the stripe and that I'm not parked at an angle.

if you think that you guys shouldn't have a license to drive. It is not about stress or "if everyone is safe in the end" parking lines are supposed to delight parking car. It is like driving in the other lane and saying "in the end if everybody is safe" no.

Yeah, I can see everyone is stress free here, you must have really easy jobs and easy lives. I would never park so close to other cars. The one with the white Astra at 1:30 must really not care about his car by parking in that tight spot.
I always park in the end spot with left door at the end, that way no one can block my driver's door. And if you are close to end line, then you have enough room on the right side also so you don't get hit by doors.

The thing is, the mark those spots way too tight and people are just used parking relative to the cars next to them, instead of trying to line up between the lines.

The spots aren't tight at all, if you park in the middle you'll have over a foot on each side.

As a Croatian i dissagre that are probobly our slovenian neighbours visiti g croatia lol, also i read you are in Dubrovnik and it seems its tourist season so probobly there were only 10% of us parked there

The are actually pretty good at driving. They probably just don't believe in parking perfectly parallel, because of hurry or whatever the reason may be, but driving wise they are fine.
This actually hurts my eyes. Going to the pharmacy now.

I seen a car dealership park all their car's wheels on the lines. So every car exactly equal space. I think this best but never see it in real situation.

I try to park dozens of spaces away from supermarkets away from all other vehicles if possible.
I've been in croatia many times and seen not so many crooked parked cars in makarska or split maybe they arent as good parkers in Dubrovnik or they just dont give any fucks anymore how they park after all the summers they've had trying to find a parking space
No wonder the body shops are so dam busy

This is how angled parking was invented
1 time about almost 5 years ago someone parked really close to my 2015 Ford Escape. The driver of the other SUV went over the white line. I’m an obese person and I do need enough room to get into my vehicle. Luckily that I have a friend that is so skinny that I allowed her backed my vehicle out. It had happened a few times. I went on the passenger side to used my scraper towards the brake pedal to pushed on very carefully each time. Now that I have a newer vehicle that I hope that no one will park very closely towards it. I will write a nasty letter towards that person. I even used to drove my father’s 2008 Ford Expedition. I gave a little more room to this one vehicle that was next to me. This one person parked really close to that big vehicle so I waited for 45 minutes for that person to back out and leave. It was during winter time. That gal should no better in parking that close to a big SUV. I had a hard time in getting into it.

I remember watching a video that says the right way to park is to park at the line. Of course I always park in between, but the most efficient is if everyone park on the line.
Are you an American or a kid? Because if you park on the line you get a fined here in Italy and they teach you this in driving school
@@aliaflow6877 Ready again, dude. I clearly said I park in the middle, buddy. All I am saying is the most efficient way of parking is if everyone parks at the line hence giving them a guide post, and not telling them to do it.
Interesting to see how people go about their daily choirs in a different country. There must be something majorly wrong with the way they teach driving over there. On any given day our local Walmart isn't that bad, surprisingly, but I guess when every body does the same it works for them.
Actually, believe it or not, Croatia has one of the most expensive and rigirous driving license tests in the world. The problem is, we also have a loooot of corruption, so before the cameras were introduced on the tests, which is very recently, you could havw always payed a bit extra and buy your license without any experience. :)

Basically all the cars that came in the video parked perfectly. So it is not a skill problem, but a mentality problem.
my dad is driving a semi for the past 25 years and he would make a circle around these cars in reverse with a 13 meter long trailer without a single problem but these people can't park their car between these 2 lines. That's kinda sad seeing people not knowing how to park a car and hearing others talking bad about your home country.
When I see how a lot of the cars are parked I don't feel so bad about I park now. I don't know why but I can't park straight, I think I am straight till I get out of the car, then can see I'm not.

You better "roll" like that, do not care about absolutely unnecessary, uninteresting things like "crooked parking" or "less crooked parking", concentrate, once it comes to cars and traffic, on the driving part (which Croat license plates actually do master way better than a lot of other license plates) and otherwise enjoy Your life without menacing other people ....? The menace isn't where or even how You park Your car before shopping, the menace is trying to bring other people to doing it "orderly".

Hi Kelly, maybe to silence your Croatian critics you could post a similar video showing how we park in the USA. Maybe the problem is just a cultural difference in parking philosophy. We like to center out cars in the space to give ourselves and other drivers room to get in and out of our cars. Maybe in Croatia the lines are considered mere suggestions as to where to park? If one is used to parking lots with no lines (I have no idea if this is the case here) maybe marked parking spaces aren't taken seriously.
No. When you park in such a way that you knowingly block someone from getting out of their car....it's isn't cultural....unless the culture is nothing but assholes.
People in the US park even stupider than this, mostly in luxury SUVs parking so crooked that they can get a front tire on one line and a back tire on the other one, it’s always some 80 year old woman too
