What's your favourite superstitious tale about the Rollright Stones? Don't forget to let us know where you're watching, and what you'd like to see in future!
That opening drone shot of the twighlit village shrouded in mist was just breathtaking. The entire video was a visual feast-- some of the most beautiful landscapes I've seen. I'm currently on my first ever read-through of Le Morte D'Arthur, and, while reading, I've found myself using these videos for reference as I build images in my mind of the various scenes of kings and knights and ladies traipsing through the English and Welsh countrysides on their adventures.
Love your new video series of walks in the Cotswolds. In September 2021, I walked the first 30 miles of the Cotswolds Way. Great scenery; friendly people. Watching from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA Look forward to your next video.
Your storytelling and narration, Ross’s videography skills (and his walking skills, too) make this so pleasant to watch and listen to. The music is a lovely choice to set it off, a bit mysterious, soothing and pastoral, listenable at just the right levels. Dreamy, inspiring and comforting. I really enjoy these videos, please keep making them!
Hey Robin and Ross, maybe the next idea for your wonderful episodes would be to shows us yanks the insides of the beautiful old pubs. I know this may have been down to nauseum levels but not with your narrative expertise and Ross’s professional photographical eye!!! Cheers my friends!!!!
Yes, Robin, you have always made us wait outside while you, Ross, and, sometimes, even your Dogs go inside the Pubs for a refreshing lunch and beverage. As I patiently wait for your Party to finish and return outside, i am curious about the menu and the food you are served. We do not have Old English Pubs in the US 🇺🇸. i do my best to imagine a scotch egg or a tasty aged cheddar with little bits of salt cracking between my teeth. or a savory pie,not to mention “puddings” We just can’ get that here. here.So would love, love to see and hear about the village pubs. .
@@prarieborn6458 : San Antonio, TX. has a downtown pub called "Mad Dogs & Englishmen". You can get the standard English pub menu there. I've often enjoyed it. The fish and chips is delicious and I highly recommend it!
We were very pleased to watch the video on the Rollrights. I did have the privilege of visiting the Rollrights back in 1992 and this was like walking back into the Rollrights once again. Thank you for posting, warm regards Andrew, Grant, Brae the Westie, Chloe the Labrador, Maggie the Calico cat. Albany, Western Australia 😊
Thank You both for this very informative video , I had a chuckle to myself of the farmer only needing one horse to return his spoils . greetings from Australia .
What a splendid way to spend a rainy day in Texas. I thoroughly enjoyed walking with Ross. How blessed is anyone who can live in a place like that. I do miss the dogs, though. Give Widget and Gizmo a pat on the head for me!
I grew up just 4 miles away from The Rollright Stones (and my ancestors have lived in this area for at least 300 years) and I grew up hearing the stories surrounding the stones. The story of the terrible witch that turned the king, his knights and his soldiers to stone and the fact that no matter how many times you try and count the stones in the circle you will never reach the same number. I always wondered how far back my ancestors would’ve known the stones! 🤔
As with your previous presentations, this new series' start is most delightful, beautiful and informative - thank you, Robin & Ross! The king, his men & the witch make a fine attempt at accounting for the stones. I'm watching from Colorado, USA, on a unusually showery day. I'm always envious to see the beautiful Fatherland.
I am just amazed by how the stones especially the flat top heavy one don't fall over! I would love to see these stones myself! Yes, I would be definitely try to count them!😃 I think these walking videos are a lovely addition to your work, but can't we occasionally see Ross's face? It's just sort of awkward to always see his back.
This episode is especially enjoyable as I effortlessly “walk” along listening to your wondeful voice. The sight of the stones and the stories about them create a delicious sense of mystery and anticipation to discover what lies beyond the next curve. I am quite curious about the inscription on the old wooden bench near the end of the journey. I paused the screen and got out my magnifyng glass , but could not make it out..There are missing letters and it appears to be in latin. Robin, can you tell us what it says? That ancient weathered Church with a tower standing in the trees, made me want to turn aside and get a closer look, maybe peek inside.. , Alas, Robin, you were not present to provide a tour., It appears completely abandoned and forlorn, poor thing.. Perhaps you would make a return visit in a future episode? Thank you so much for the new series. ❤
We enjoyed that immensely. A very different walk to your Cotswold Explorer series, but really interesting. Loved the various standing stones and the stone circle.
Thank you good men for these getaway stories from across the pond ! But check out out Grimm life collective. They have been coming over in your neck of the woods and doing haunted places. They did these not too long ago. Pet the doggies for me.
Same problem here in Texas. The rivers are public lands and yet the landowners along them sometimes try to block access to them by erecting fencing that includes barbed wire! We have one section along a river that has dinosaur tracks. You used to be able to go down and walk along it to look for them. But a new owner fenced it off with "No Trespassing" signs. BUMMER!

For those of us unable to visit the Cotswolds these videos are a joy to watch. Many thanks Robin and Ross
Glad you enjoyed!
I agree 110 percent 😁
I'd give anything to be able to spend the rest of my days in the Cotswolds ❤
Another lovely video! I love the story of the baker with the bread. I suspect that birds or squirrels are responsible for the missing bread. 🐦🐿
A very good thought 🤔
Had the privilege of living in the Cotswolds for a year. Such a joy!
❤❤❤ I'm watching from Brooklyn NY. 😊😊🎉🎉

Wonderful walk‼️. Thx for sharing. Such intriguing narration. From the Carolinas in USA.
This format is extraordinary. Great job, guys. Love the video and voiceover.

Another brilliant and beautiful episode.
Thank You! Appreciate you sharing the beauty and your knowledge of England! All the best to you and Ross!
Thank you. A delightful walk with a very interesting audio guide.
Wonderfully narrated and filmed as always
So glad I found this. Been to Rollright a few times and will now follow the paths that you suggest 😄
Live nearby but still beautiful to visit and walk around.
I have a love for those ancient stones, always wondered about the people who put them there. Very enjoyable video!🙏💕🇬🇧
Excellent walk.

Noted 😊
Loving this new series. Damn shame the road has been turned into a private drive.
Just discovered the channel and I'm hooked. I want to hear the narrator read The Hobbit.
Thank you for your new wonderful videos! I hope to visit the Cotswolds as soon as possible.

Really enjoy theses walks
Delightful!
Hello!
Perfect. 🇬🇧
Hurry
Thank you good men for these getaway stories from across the pond ! But check out out Grimm life collective. They have been coming over in your neck of the woods and doing haunted places. They did these not too long ago. Pet the doggies for me.
i'm glad i don't have roots like a tree ... HOW NICE IS IT TO MOVE ROUND ?
😂😂I think you need to get yourself a herd of sheep, Ross! They seem to really like you!
I thought landowners couldn’t block public rights of way and footpaths etc?
They can if it was a Permissive Access Road. I suspect the property changed hands and the new owner is not as generous as the previous 😕
