Hi Stella, this is the diffuser I have used for many speedlights for ages... in fact... this darn thing has outlasted a lot of my actual flashes haha amzn.to/33MhqFM
Mate, I have just sat for 5 hours trying to figure out how to use this flash (first ever). I've watched about 8 other videos now and yours is the only one that explains in detail what everything does. I feel so much more confident in using the flash!
I have struggled for what seems like forever to figure out how to get my Godox flash to work correctly. I could probably have struggled forever if I hadn't found this tutorial. So helpful!!! Thanks for such a basic but complete explanation of setting up the flash with other flashes or trigger.
Brilliant beginner tutorial. Thank you. A lot of the others assume a foundational knowledge of flashes as a whole, whereas you clearly explained everything. Subscribed.
This was sooo helpful. I just got it and could not get it to work with my Sony a6600. On another site I had read that the radio button had to be used with non-Sony flashes so I used that and nothing happened...arghhh! When I watched your video I finally figured out that the camera thinks my Sony Godox 860ii is a Sony! All of a sudden it all worked. What a relief. Thank you!
as for now i have wasted nearly 4 hrs but couldn't got understand anything but this video is what made me learn everything about the flash so easily...... thanks mate for such nice tutorial!!!!
Thank You this has helped me. I have had issues using their Controls. Really appreciate Your time. I like the Godox Flashes. A few Years ago I bought the set of two V860II and Xt Controller to use as a small home studio in My Lana. Until now I have not used them as they were designed to use. With Your help I will now advance in using them,
This is an excellent video. I just got a Godox v860ii, and this information is really helpful to me, filling in the vague areas in the manual, and more. Thanks so much for creating and posting this video.
Definitely helped out a lot, thank you for this!! I have a Godox X1 hotshoe trigger that I've been trying to get working with my V860IIs for ages now, and never got them to connect. Now that I actually understand how the menu system work, got it up and running within a minute. Thanks again!
Ive just had one delivered today. So far so good. Getting a second Godox 685, also have a couple of Neewers, a Sigma and a Canon. Now I can do flash arrays again like I used to with my film cameras. Love the manual cut down. Cooking on gas again re flash.
Thank you for the systematic, thorough tutorial It definitely helped me! The only part I was stuck was syncing the V860ii(Sony) to the XPro (Sony) trigger. I could have used a bit more coaching there. I ultimately powered off both units and was able to synch them. I'm not sure if the powering off helped? Or if I was just pressing one button wrong. Also, changing channels was a bit tricky for me. I had one unit set to channel 1 and one set to channel 20. I would not have gotten these two devices to work without your tutorial thought. Thank you so much!
Thanks for the tutorial. Still having problems getting my V860IIs to be controlled by my X2Ts. I've got the strobe set to "Radio-Slave" mode, group A Channel 1. On the X2t group and channel are the same set. Wondering if you've worked with this combo and might be able to do a step by step tutorial? Thanks!
I use the same combo, just had a major issue as well , heres the solution; Make sure your in slave mode with the radio symbol in the top left corner not the orange slave mode with the thunderbold in the corner. So my question to @see It Loud is ... you didnt explain the difference between the 2 slave modes if im not mistaken... could you please advise?
I have just started flash photography and this was a great tutorial! I have this exact flash with the trigger on my new Sony A7iii. I hope to get lots of use out of it ! Thank you !
Thanks for the helpful video on the flash. I’m having a difficult time using the X1T-s trigger with mine 🥴 Any suggestions on a good tutorial with the V860II-S ?
@@apchan Hey there! Good question... I have the a6300 as my smallest camera and I think its virtually identical (in terms of body shape/size) aside from a few features. I do not own the v350s so I cant speak directly to it. However, given the skinny price difference, I would lean towards the v860ii. It has been my most used speedlight i have ever owned...to include when I was a nikon shooter and had their own name brand flashes. Now, one reason I WOULD go for the v350s is because of its form factor. If you are looking for something to fit in a small bag and not be too bulky on the a6000... it makes sense. But... If you think you will ever upgrade to a larger sony body... I would opt for the v860ii. Hope this helps! reach out if you have any other questions
Excellent tutorial. I have a question. When i put my 860ii into slave mode, two lights flash on the front of the flash. Do i need tbose lights flashing? How do i turn them off?
Thanks for the video. Could you tell me how to set up the camera (and the speed light) to operate in the "second-curtain sync" mode? The manual says setting the "flash mode" on the camera (Sony a6400) to "Rear Sync", which I did. But it still does not work. THANKS.
one thing you didnt show was a sony flash wirelessly triggering the godox or vice versa. You mentioned that the oem specific godox flash will communicate wirelessly in the oem specific wireless protocol so i assume youve tested out having a mix of sony strobes and godox strobes communicating with each other in various master/slave configs?
I was following along until you got to the zoom portion but I cannot get the zoom portion to change anymore. It's stuck on 14mm. I pushed a button on the right that changed the S1 to S2 to nothing on the screen. Don't know what this is. Tried resetting the flash with no luck. Any idea how I can get this back? Thx
Hello! Great tutorial! Thanks! I use this Godox flash with Sony A7iii, and there is a significant lag time between pressing the shutter and the firing of the flash. It only occurs in TTL mode. Any suggestions on how to eliminate this lag time?
12:10 only works when the v860ii is NOT in the hot shoe. Otherwise, this will not work in Master Mode and fire the other Godox flashes in the room. If you take it out of the hot shoe and use a transmitter, it will work. The Master mode is not available when the camera is in the hot shoe.
Hi Kyle… excellent video… really easy to follow! But I’m having a rough time trying to get my Xpro trigger to fire the V860ii-S. I can get the 860 to fire my AD200pro in master mode, but I can’t fire the 860 in slave mode with a trigger. Any ideas?
Thanks for this! Really helpful :) There's one thing I still cannot work out… Can the V860ii and the camera (in my case, an A7Rii) communicate wirelessly without a trigger? Or would I need an X1T or equivalent in order to use the flash off camera?
+Leon van Zyl that’s odd... that mode is designed for being a commander on top of a camera... I don’t own the a7riii (jealous) but I’ll test this on my a7iiis and maybe a a6500... What flash mode is your camera in when it becomes unavailable?
thank you for this tutorial. Got it working finally. Only thing is I cannot change the mm from 14mm with dial, seems stuck but dial works for other things. Sure then net will help. Thanks again
Hey, happy to be able to help! And for changing the the zoom, gave you ever been able to and now it’s not working? Have you tried in straight up manual mode just to validate it works?
@@SeeItLoud will try. Thanks. I don't know if it's ever worked I've had it a while and never got to grips with it. On the plus side I did get good at natural light use. I'll try manual and thanks again
I can make my 860ii talk to my Godox Ad 600 pro (two of them on separate groups) and my eVOLV 200 R2 (also on a separate group). But I can’t make the 860 change the intensity of the flash. I have to go to each flash and manually change the intensity. If I go to group, set; =/- it won’t get read by the external flash to change. What am I doing wrong? I’ve reset the 860. And used your video to connect the external flashes back to the 860.
I have a problem. When I've got my V860ii in Master, the high speed sync HSS , I can't figure out HOW to turn off the HSS mode. Drives me crazy! Can you help me? Thanks in advance.
Hello. Great video. How do you take off the RMT? I use it as a slave when I do weddings. I will set it like I'm suppose to then I put it on my camera and it goes back. Had some bad pics from it at my last wedding.
hi mate , love your video but i hv an issue , ok i got a ANDOER wireless trigger and 3 godox V860II for canon on my R5, they were working perfectly but only one shoot and i dont know how make them work. what would the best setup be to make them work at the same time trigger them by my ANDOER wireless trigger.. regards
