Hamdard has changed the formulation of Rooh Afza recently. It used to have sugar in it which made it heavier. The new formulation has not made it lighter, but also changed it’s flavour. I suspect that sugar, which is expensive now, & settles at the bottom, has been replaced with high fructose corn syrup, which was adopted by the soft drink industry several years ago. High fructose corn syrup has severe side effects on the human body, including severely damaging our digestive system & impairing out body’a ability to digest sugar leading to diabetes.
FYI, the label says "refined sugar" and not high fructose corn syrup.

Hakeem Muhammad Saeed k zinda hony tak acha tha rooh afza, it was very thick and dark red in colour with glass bottle. After his death the company dropped it's standard and quality. The liquid has become light in colour, the packaging has also been changed to cheap plastic bottles and taste has also been changed

I have been a Food Technologist for over 30 years, working for beverages and red sharbat companies in Pakistan and food industries in New York. Bhatti sahib is absolutely right that the sugar content in Rooh Afza is 72% that is in technical terms it is called BRIX. Please avoid these red sharbat and cola drinks these are next to slow poison. Homemade drinks are always better.
72 brix! So that means label gives correct infirmation i.e. 596 grams of sugar in 800ml, I am not going into density of the liquid and considering 800ml=800grams so 596/800*100= 74% sugar as per info on the label
BTW if home made drinks contain sugar then it becomes similar to these off the shelf sugary drinks.
In US the bottle label has no fruit picture!!

یہ مناسب عمل نہیں ہے. معلومات درست مگر طرز عمل انتہائی غلط ہے. امید ہے کہ آپ اصلاح فرمائیں گے. شکریہ

Very informative. One thing to note is we usually put 70% water in a glass and 30% rooh afza so that means per glass intake of sugar will be like 4-5 tea spoons. Which is much less than coke and sprite which has like half a glass of sugar per glass. But Rooh Afza is also deceiving customers by only mixing 50-100ml fruit extracts which is nothing.
But it is good than coke and sprite

I don't understand what is the point here. A sugar syrup is dense hence it will weigh more than volume. Also a sugar syrup is a sugar based liquid concentrate used to make beverage with dilution. Brix level per glass will be same as any other juice or drink available in the market which is 10 brix. Colour guidelines suggest that it may cause hyper activity in children however poncho 4 R is approved FDA colour and can be used in food globally. Hamdard is adding extracts (Arq) which has direct health benefits. These Arq are acting as active ingredients and are taken in this quantity generally. Being a food technology industry colleague, I believe this video has a not technical and irrelevant way of describing food ingredients and their effects. I would recommend taking an opinion with food technologist. Its ike a tailor doing cardio surgery and people believing him.

Rooh Afza and Jam e shireen are not drank without diluting with water. On the other hand fizzy drinks contain huge amount of sugar in percentage terms and the are not diluted for drinking.

Rooh afzs has been recognition of our country. In Europe and Usa it is known as valued drink. It is still better than cola drinks first post martem pepsi and coke without hiding their name. Indian roohafza is unavailable in UAE at 99% places so Indians are forced to buy the Pakistani version. Indians love the Indian roohafza much more than the Pakistani version but they are helpless thanks to the idiots sitting in Hamdard Waqf Laboratories in Delhi.So keep your views to yourself.
keep happy good advice, when you developed the diabetes and other illnesses related to sugar then you come back to Pakistan and get ill you will understand how expensive your advice was, take precautions please because medicine is to expensive for poor working people.

Are these realy included in it?How we can ensure ?Govt should compel the company to mention all ingredients eith side effects.Also it should be mentioned that how much syrup a person should use at a time with age factor and how many times a day.Which people should not use this liquid at all be also mentioned. Eay of using should also be mentioned.

10 ml of Roh Afza makes 1 glass of Sharbat
1000 ml of Bottle makes at-least 100 glass
1000 ml of Bottle has 592 gm of Sugar
10 ml or 1 glass of Sharbat would have just 5.92 or 6 gm of Sugar
This is way lower than WHO Sugar Requirment
Coke has 100 gm in just one bottle so equal amount of coke would have at least 100x100 which is 10KG!!!! so
