    we have a similar hose - and didn't have enough length, so we just added more hose to it - it now runs from my basement up to our 4 tanks on our first floor. it works so well for all of our tanks (5 of which are in the basement as we have just started attempting to breed for profit!)

      Definitely need a different solution than buckets at that point.

    I got the 50’ but it’s too long now (but wanted to make sure I had enough if I moved/added tanks in the future). I’ve never used these before so my question is, how do you run the old water out of the hose before re-filling the tank?

    • @IansFishRoom
      @IansFishRoom  Před rokem

      take the end that is in the aquarium out of the tank and then just hold the hose above the height of the drain as you walk moving down the hose as the water drains out. Hope that makes sense.

    I've had two different hoses to change water. I don't think I could go back to just buckets. Lol

      What two have you had and which do you like better?

    The problem is that if your fish tank is not at the same height level where you connect the hose forget it go back and take your bowl

      You can still siphon out the water but you'd have to leave your water running at the faucet. It would be a big waste of water but it is possible.

      You could try something like this

    Good vid but I'm not a fan of anything Hygger puts their name on (IMO 🙂). Their stuff is inexpensive for a reason (to say it nice lol) . FritzPro ACCR will save you a ton of money also vs Prime

      I'm planning on doing a hygger vs python video soon comparing the pros and cons of each. I definitely think there are customers for each but the quality is definitely very different.

    What a waste of water to siphon the tank.

    • @IansFishRoom
      @IansFishRoom  Před 2 lety

      You only need the water running as long as it takes to start the siphon as long as your tanks are sitting higher than your sink but I definitely recommend getting the shortest hose you need to avoid wasting more water.
