What is a screw compressor?
The rotary screw compressor is a displacement compressor type where rotating screws are used to compress the air. Compared with a piston compressor, the screw compressor compresses air continuously without pulsation. It has high efficiency at full load and low efficiency when partially loaded.
Where are screw compressors used?
Oil flooded screw compressors are used in a wide variety of applications including air compression, gas refrigeration, hydrocarbon processing and power utilization from low-grade heat sources.
Why is a screw compressor better?
Rotary screw air compressors are lighter and provide more capacity in a smaller package than reciprocating air compressors. As a result, vehicles can haul more equipment, tools, and materials and spend less time driving between shops and job sites. Not only can you carry more, but you can also do more.
