That you've been suggested this of all their songs is extremely funny. The whole point is that it's made to sound like a Latin church hymn but with fake Latin "sex words". Also, funny that you mention them going to Eurovision with this ... they actually applied with their song "Ick wer zun Schwein" in 2000 but didn't get chosen by the German audience. (I wonder why.) That song is worth checking out as well!

If you'd prefer an English language song, check out their covers of "Ma Baker", "Try Again" or "Ring My Bell".

Knorkator were very unlucky in Eurovision since they applied the same year a certain Stefan Raab applied, a legend in his own right, unfortunately a far larger one than Knorkator.

The song can be understood as a critic of the sex doctrine of the (catholic) church. 20 or so sex-related nonsense terms in an invented fake Latin played as a church song. And at the end (of the song and the concert) the band gives the crowd its absolution (so the title) for all their sex-related sins. The singer, nicknamed Stumpen (dialect form of "Stumpf" = stump because of his small and compact physique) once said in an interview that "Absolution" is the hardest song of the band's catalogue as there is no chorus, no rimes, nothing which helps you to remember the lyrics. He was trained as a professional opera singer in former East Germany (and can sing falsetto) but after Germany's reunification in 1990 went bunkers, playing kind of anarcho rock with his band Knorkator.
The "K" is pronounced, so NOT as in "knight", but as in "khan", "Khnorkator". The band's name itself is nonsense. It stems from the regional Berlin slang word "knorke", which means great, good, outstanding, excellent. Knorkator makes such kind of music. Their slogan is "die meiste Band der Welt", i.e. "the most (not the best) band of the world", another fun element.
I recommend to listen to the OV of "Klonen" (not one of the live versions). He felt in love with himself. To being finally able to have sex with himself, he wants to order a clone of him.
