Thanks for this tutorial! When terrain tools came out I immediately tried this - but I used the fountain tool, and was quickly disappointed because for whatever reason it only works with pools. I don't know why I didn't think of using the pool tool... So thanks for showing how to actually make it work :)

thank you so much for sharing....i'm a die heart sims2ess and got so frustrated in trying to build a bridge. it was so easy in sims2 and there you were also able to make it arched.... oh have you tried to build a moat with a drawbridge? if so please post :-* …. I have tried and tried but can't connect the one side of the bridge to the building with having the water running underneath the bridge and being flush with the building

great bridge! but I don't get how to delete part of the river using the pool tool in order to build the rest of the bridge.....that part is confusing...it doesn't do anything for me...i had to adjust my pool instead
When you hold down Crtr on your keyboard and then you use the pool tool at the same time (As if you were building one at the same spot) it deletes this section of the pool! :) Thank you for your comment!
This is a stunning build, tutorial and idea, could you potentially build another mansion/estate that has a bridge running over a river? I'd love to see this implemented in a large family estate home.

I want to sort of re-create a waterwheel house I saw in Midsomer murders where there was a canal that ran under the side of a building that had a waterwheel so the building is pretty much flush with the ground. I take it the flat platform thing has to sit on top of foundation and can't just stretch over the pool at ground level?
I love this tutorial. It's one of my favourites. But Can Sims actually walk over it? I've build one like yours but I tried to mske mu sim do something on the bridge but she canceled the demand not sure why? xxX
Thanks for this video! I am trying to create a bridge and followed your instructions but when I go to delete the room that is in the middle of the 4 pillars, the terrain stays below the ground, and doesn't return to the same level as the pool. Is there a certain trick to deleting the room?
I got an "incompatible with terrain constraint block" error message when trying to place my 2nd set of stairs. I tried rearranging the camera angles, placing a 2nd foundation, flattening the surrounding terrain, nothing seems to work. Anyone have any ideas?
Doing the exact same thing but it just won't work. The water won't go anywhere near the bridge. I'm pretty sure it worked once before though. Any ideas as to why it doesn't now and how to fix it?

You have to use the pool tool, pools can be placed underneath it but it doesn't work for fountains! :) So I guess you used the fountain tool. Let me know if you run into any more problems!
Did you make sure that all four 'columns' are on the same level before trying to fill in the room in the center? Do you get any type of error message? :)

I've been running into the same issue recently. This is new and I think it's some type of bug. :/ It happens to me randomy when I want to place stairs. Can you place multiple 1x1 stairs next to each other? This oftentimes works for me
@@KateEmerald unfortunately placing multiple stairs next to each other didn’t work. However restarting the game helped fix some of the bug that were giving me grief. Thanks for the quick reply :) your channels helps me out a lot!
Awesome but I have one tiny problem. Resizing objects doesn’t work in my game :( testingcheats true is written on the cheats but the shift + [ or ] simply doesn’t do anything as well as command + [ or ] and options or ctrl :( I’ve tried everything and I don’t have any idea why it’s not working. I have MacBook Pro 13’ from 2017, I’ve tried changing the keyboard layout to USA English and restarting the game, I’ve tried to disable any mods in case some mod would block it and restarting the game and nothing works :( my keyboard is QWERTY (I’m from Poland) I really wish to use some rocks to make awesome outdoor things but I can’t :( maybe you could help me ?
The combinations for sizing up and down are different in different languages and also differ from Windows to Mac. I have no idea which keys are the correct ones on Mac but I will ask someone and will try to find out for you! :)

Hello!!! Sooo i follow your tutorial in a park, where i have this huge lake in the middle (so a bridge would be nice to cut right in the middle the journey to the other side.... BUT.... My sims can't walk on the bridge, like if i click on the floor and send them to there, it appears the forbidden foot symbol. And if i place a bench and i tried to seat them on, they won't cuz the same appears... Do you know why? or if its normal, like the bridge is just for looks?
The bridge is fully functional so it should definitely work! I would assume that the problem has to be the edge of the bridge where you would connect the stairs so something might be blocked. Did you attach stairs or did you place the foundation right above the ground? If the latter is the case the issue might be that the step is too high even though it migh not look like it. In this case I would try to attach stairs so it adds one small step. If you want to upload the lot to the gallery and tell me your ID I can check it out if you want. Of maybe send some screenshots. It's difficult to help without seeing it. I hope you have a great day! :)
The green water I used here (With a slight blue tint) came with Jungle Adventure and another green one (Really dark green like a proper lake) came with Get Together! :)
If you don't want to build the bridge over water you can simply leave out that step. If you are referring to the version I uploaded to the gallery you can simply delete the pool. If something is not clear or if you have any further questions just ask away and I will try to help!

Hold down Ctrl while using the pool tool and it'll delete the pool! :)

about doing bridges, can you do one with walls and that in one of the end start a house. but with stair in both places.
You mean like a proper bridge with stairs on both sides? Yes :)
@@KateEmerald yes, a small bridge over a swimming poll in side a house. But half of the poll is out side the house.
How did you removed the room? I can't delete a whole room. I have to use the hammer tool and delete everything. :(

What key that you press remove the pool?

Are you sure you're using a pool and not a fountain? Fountains can't be placed under anything but pools can! :) Hope this helps!

Sadly i think with the latest updates, it doesn’t work; at least for me. It does not let me lower the bridge level. 🤧 But great tutorial
