We had no idea Black Candy Concentrate even existed! What the heck is Black Candy going to look like? The best thing we can do is try it over multiple base coat colors, learn about the properties of the product, and see what we want to bring full scale. Enjoy the video!
We did this video for fun, there has been no long term testing when using this Kandy Concentrate with DYC products. We can not confirm the lifespan or longevity of the product, or if it is suitable for use on your specific car. Attempting a candy paint job is difficult and should not be considered a beginner-safe project.

ZTG
Red
Please do GC-47 Alien
Carbon red
Carbon red is awsomeđđ
Carbon red looked gorgeous
Carbon red or GC-47 Allen
Facts
agreed. The blue was good as well, but i really liked the CR + BC combination.
Looks like gms black rose paint
I like the carbon red (wine) and the gold. Both of those would look sick
Carbon Red for me aswell. That deep maroon is fire.
How bout mixing the carbon red and gold then apply the black shift?
How about the carbon red, put gold flake over that and then the black kandy over that... done!
Depends on how much gold flake you add, but that's a good idea also
The carbon red looked more like black cherry when he was done
The black candy over the sterling silver thru me for a HUGE loop. Almost looks like black chrome so I'd definitely love to see that full scale
I did like that too. The red and the silver seemed to gain some with it but the rest certainly faired less favorable.
I've always loved the black cherry look for cars. The black candy over the red is incredibly close
I've got to say I liked the carbon red best, looks like wine.
Fonzieeee, Sterling Silver on the Tesla, with the black candy to make it look like a spaceship
Hell yes!!!!!!
LOVE this idea!!!
Carbon Red 100% one of the most beautiful colors I've seen
I like the Alien, it has a stary night effect with the flakes glimmering.
The Carbon Red is by far my favorite.
Agreed
Carbon red is the best
Me too
Ok after reviewing Carbon Red most Definitely looks beautiful then i would say GC-47 Alien looks fantastic with all that metallic flake so those would be my 2 choices
I agree
These would be my two favorite picks as well. I feel like the Carbon Red would be my personal favorite because I love that deep red wine look. But the GC-47 looks a lot like a ânight skyâ with all those little sparkling stars
How bout knives and a Harley in carbon red
The color not dip
@@a.c.billyjr-stevenson8046 without the candy black?
GC-47 Alien is my vote. I would a liked to see the Sterling in 3 coats to like the others too. That black candies looking sweet on everything though.
My car is almost exactly that color. Iâm obsessed with this black coating!
They all turned out gorgeous, but I think the carbon red turned out especially well. That black candy coat just adds so much dimension, Im looking forward to seeing all the combinations you guys try it out with in future!
Black candy on everything it's almost the the bacon of plastidip đ
Whatâs this almost đ©!! It IS the đ„
@@gohphaqurselfeeputhy622 you rite đđ
I canât decide between the GC-47 Alien Pearl & Carbon Red so I pick both.
Me too. They looked really nice. They all did.
Same on this one kinda hard to choose
I agree
Exactly what I thought
This
my favorites were alien and carbon blue. they were super subtle in a really sick way, i enjoyed them a lot. they also escaped the usual issue of warm colors making the black appear brown
Iâm not usually a fan of red, but that black candy over the carbon red is gorgeous. Next to that, I think the black candy over carbon blue is a good subtle shift.
Sterling Silver looks like black chrome, thatâs what I want to see
Reminds me of the paint Kawasaki uses on their H2âs.
Exactly what I thought
Silver Surfer imo
Mace that would be a great kit name for that!
Please
The black gold honestly gave me goosebumps. I want that color.
Alien for 100% sure to go full scale. That metallic flake pops so amazingly đ
The Alien. That blue purple pearl looks fantastic with the darker candy
Pure gold for the win. Also, your bloopers got me dead! Lol I was saying to myself "how does he know the names of the colors so well?" Then in the bloopers "....wtf is this color called again?" đđđ Love it and love you bro.
I never thought u would say this because I am NOT a red guy, but carbon red looks soooo good! I'd love to see it full scale.
All of the colours look so insanely gorgeous but carbon red, alien and carbon blue stands out for me I just love the way they came out totally insanely gorgeous weldone guys you left me speechless
You have no idea how long i've been looking for a red like this. I would love to see a full car and I'm 100% buying this color for my truck. Thank you so much!
Sterling Silver is my vote. The Carbon Red was gorgeous and reminded me of the Black Cherry one you did not long ago.
yup, it went a nice black chrome tone.
@@modelnutty6503 my thoughts exactly. Black Chrome. Absolutely gorgeous!
My first thought was Black Diamond.
Fazit: Everything is gorgeous under black candy!
All the colors looked better without the black candy finish, but my favorite was carbon blue before the coat and it's still my favorite after.
Thank you for your tests and for sharing them with us, I like it!
GC-47 Alien has a night sky effect, I love it!
omg if you have the Tesla with the GC-47 Alien and black candy would be amazing!
If i could make a recommendation for future videos like this, do a side by side of what it looked like prior. Even just a small stationary image in the corner so you can really see the difference between the two.
That would help a lot. I honestly was thinking of the same thing đ
Definitely carbon red. That color looks amazing on the speed shape, I can only imagine how good it would look accentuating body lines full scale.
Wow, Amazing. Game changing. I would love to see it over a Sublime Green...
Carbon red looks amazing!
Can you try another test with this when you go full scale? I want to know if you can tighten the overlap or do extra coats as you go down the car to create a fade. Maybe start at the middle of the door and fade darker and darker down to the rocker panels. Thanks for the awesome ideas!
Super sick!!! I'd watch any video you make with this! Keep up the amazing work! You're the reason I'm interested in dyc
Saw after a long time. Nice work. Love bloopers as usual.
The GC-47 Alien had some amazing sparkle, that would look awesome full scale!
Gonna need a two tone red+silver for the full size car.
YES. was thinking the same thing!!
I second this. 2 tone carbon red with silver topped with black candy.
GC-47 Alien itâs will looks so stunning when going full scale and my favorite oneâ€ïž
I think these all deserve their own full scale. Theyâre all fire đ„
Sterling or Alien.... those two looked definitely amazing
I really like the sterling silver.
Wow! Those are some sweet looking paints that you threw down. Just getting into trying to take my painting to the next level. Thanks for your videos!
I Want to See a Full Car in Carbon Red. That Would Look Sick
The silver for sure!! But the blue would be cool to see on the STI.
I gotta say, that SILVER looks 3 feet deep with that black candy over.
I really liked the Carbon Red and Gold(looked like Rootbeer) but the Alien was awesome with all that metallic dancing under the Candy Black
I would like to see more experimenting with different colors. Great video! Thanks phor sharing.
Pure Gold all the way! I was rooting for silver but the way the gold highlights hit on the angles is really nice.
Sterling silver with that candy will looks sooo clean on the Audi wagon. Will remind you of bullet bob from Mario bros. Will be sleek n clean
All of them !!! Gorgeous colors
It would have been nice to have the before and after speed shapes spinning at the end together to see how much it changed.
Everybody loves red and gold... may as well do a dark Ironman theme on the Audi... lmao!
ALL OF THEM! They all look amazing
I fell in love with automotive painting when I walked into coast airbrush. I would love to get back into it. Coast airbrush is just amazing to walk into and the guys are so cool.
Lol, thanks for the bloopers at the end, and they look great.
Sterling silver pleaseđđœ. We need that outer space alien ship lookđ„
Literally awesome. I love the carbon red, reminds me of Nebula Red with an aggressive dark tint.
Now that GC-47 Alien turned into a color from outer space. I would love to see that done on a full scale level. Like if you agree
When the black was spreading into the clear it was *mesmerizing!* đ€©đđŸ
GC-47 alien then Sterling Silver are my favorites, but all of them look trippy fun! Always love your experiments.
Carbon red or sterling silver. The silver surprised me. I thought it was gonna look bland and uninteresting but it actually looked pretty sick. Def wanna see that full scale
That carbon red hitting so good!!!!
I thing it works best on sold colors; red, blue, silver, gold
Doing it over that hyper shift killed the darker shift tones and made the bright yellow look like a green yellow
I think if you did less coats over all or if you concentrated most of it in certain contours of the car, you can really enhance shape
YES!!! OMG YES!!! This is the answer to my problem!! Now I can make red to black shift without going via orange
GC-47 please. Actually all of them are amazing. Carbon Blue would be my second choice.
It's a tie between carbon red and gold alloy for me! Gorgeous colors
Only comment when I see huge advances in this technology over the years. Once again this is closer to rivaling factory. These all look amazing.
WOW. THAT IS AMAZING. Thank you for the testing of the candy black.
The Red looks sooo nice.. but the Sliver looks out of this world
.. I can't stop looking at it. it doesnât look natural, like not from this planet.. I am going paint my Harley tank that colour.. I am an airbrush artist... Thanks again.. love the video
Carbon Red is 1st choice looks very much like brandy wine... and 2nd choice would be the gold
I agree carbon red
I liked a lot of them so picking one was difficult. My final choice is sterling silver.
They all look absolutely brilliant but the red is the winner by a fair margin!!! Also would love to see with a brighter color shift. Or at least one with a lighter color or wider range of colors. Could be interesting. I say again! THEY ARE ALL GORGEOUS!!
That carbon Red is what I've always visioned doing to a car as a black cherry kind of colour. Love it
The silver gets my vote makes it look like black chrome but the red came in a close second
The gold one was crazy unique!
Oh I love it. It looks beautiful over all of them.đ€©
I love the Red and Gold they look so good, but Alien looked sick, it looked like the Xenomorphs from Alien, the colour was awesome and I think it would look great full scale.
The carbon red was my favorite of these but Iâm curious how nardo grey would look also.
JASPER GREEEN!!!!!!!
im dont post in *every* video but an emerald green/ black color shift is like my dream!
That paint job literally has " MOTION" !!!!: AWESOME SAUCE!!!! FROM 1 ARTIST TO ANOTHER... ( DIFFERENT MEDIUMS ) MADD RESPECT!!!! #NEXTLEVEL!!!!!
I love the gold. Thatâs the color I was looking for
I'm stuck between the pure gold alloy (which I called burnished bronze) and the carbon blue (which I call nightshade). Great colors and should be brought to full scale.
The sparkles in the Alien look great, I would put that on my car. I'll bet the Gold actually looks pretty sick at full scale though.
Carbon Red for sure!! Looks great!
Silver would look great on the mustang for being stealthy. Gold would look great on the Audi
Sterling silver looked amazing I wanna see that full scale
I absolutely love the gold one! Also I think like an emerald green under the black would look beautiful.
Fricken' awesome......soooo good !!
The alien is fire. I would love to have that on my ride
I think I got an idea for the perfect dip. Base to top: Black -> chrome -> reflective pigment -> thermopigment (black to clear) -> mood ring crystals -> clear coat. What do you guys think?
I think I can hear my bank account screaming in agony.
This, minus the liquid crystal "mood" liquid. It is the color of snot and has murky opacity, which doesn't look good over the reflective and takes the mirror effect away from the chrome.
Gold it just looks so classy.
Looks amazing on everything!!! For full scale though, id go Carbon Red or Sterling Silver
Wow, all of these turned out amazing. I got a dumb idea: do all of them. A stripe of each intermediate color, then black candy overtop of all of them. Make a black candy rainbow (sounds like a licorice skittles bag)
name checks out
Definitely do the GC-47 Alien in full scale. It's gorgeous!
Edit: Please also do a faded look using amethyst purple in the front and sterling silver in the back with royal blue holographic micro flakes. Please be sure to use a white or black base, whichever one gives you the best results. Perhaps you could even test them out on the little sample pieces to show the difference between using the two bases, and a full car on the most promising one?
The red looked like black cherry
The blue looked like a gun barrel
The silver looked like steel
The alien and the shifts were a little muddy for my taste.
I'd like to see the blue on a larger scale.
Cool video, very interesting concept
They all look so good honestly
Sterling Silver 100%. I can't even imagine what that looks like at night diving under streetlights.
They all came out real nice. Carbon Red, Blue and ZTG my favorites.
Black Kandy! I love it. It seems liek the perfect way to get a darker more sinister version of a color. Iâd love to see a car with a black base sprayed with a black kandy mixed with some interference pearl. I bet it would be super rich!
The candy black just makes everything look so elegant
