- Cherokee Indians performing an very old war dance. June 29, 2010. You may see Cherokee Indians perform a dance along the streets of Cherokee NC with lots of feathers and etc.. The original Cherokee indians didn't use a head dress or a lot of feathers.
My mother is full blood Cherokee, I am half and my boys are quarter. We live only a few minutes from the Oconaluftee Indian Village.
So blessed to be part of the cherokee tribe :)
I am proud to have 1/4 Cherokee and 1/4 Seminole from my father and rip father till we met again in heaven and you will always be in my heart

The culture of cherokee indians is so amazing,I heard that the cherokee indians are very proud people. I interested in their culture and I want to know more about it,but in Hungary there's no cherokee indians :-( So I didn't know anybody. Is there anybody who is cherokee indian and can tell me something about the culture? Please *-* Because I search in the internet but I found just a little information.

I was surprised how my DNA Test came out I thought have some white in me I was so wrong . I'm. 3.4% Native American Indian CHEROKEE AND APACHE
I have Cherokee Indian in me. I'm English, German, and Cherokee. I don't have a lot of the Native blood, but I'm still proud to say I do.
War dances are my favorite.

Even the turbans that you often see Tsalagi like Sequoyah wearing in paintings aren't an original thing. In the 1700s some chiefs went to England to be presented to the king. The MC thought their outfits looked pretty "stark" or "severe" for the royal court (perhaps they didn't have shirts? pants?) & offered them some beautiful jackets and turbans left by a delegation from India. The Indians liked them and kept them for formal occasions, making new ones as they got trade cloth. Later on they got spinning wheels and started making their own cloth. You can still get Tsalagi turbans.

James Hembree, i am one of those blond blue eyed Cherokees. My G'Mother was about 3/4 Cherokee, but like a lot of others i have no proof except what she says and I do have some Cherokee features. I have been to a Cherokee reservation and was told by many of them that they could tell I was Cherokee even being blond and blue eyed. I get my coloring from the Irish and British side of the family. My Cherokee G'Ma was on the Trail of Tears from Tennessee and she looked Indian in all ways. She wound up in Oklahoma where i was born
I 100% believe this. You know there was so much intermarriage and relationships between the Cherokee and Irish people. They have many traditions, magic, folklore and spiritual things in common.

there is no part you are or you are not.........be proud my family is cherokee on both sides one documented on freedmen one side not im more proud of the side that didnt get numbered on a roll counted like cattle.......i see blond haired blue eyed cherokee on the council if they are aknowledged so are you .........BE PROUD!

I am cherokee, I wish I could find the tribe I was from. They burned the papers during the trail of tears. all I have is family lore :(
