I can’t see Edward’s letting him stay until he’s a free agent if we can get decent cash this summer. I love Salah but he’s clearly lost a yard of pace. Non existent since the start of the year. That’s not the look of a player on 350k wages per week.
If Edwards sells him for 100 million plus the real g
He’s a legend and I’d like him to stay but he can’t go for free so he’d have to sign a new contract
Agree - if big money is on offer....
It's the club saying "he's not for sale"....yeah sure. Of course he's for sale. This is to stir up interest from the Saudi's. Deffo going this summer.
He's an absolute legend and will be remembered as probably one of top 5 players to play for us, but I think the time is right for him to go if a £100m bid comes in. He looks off the pace since his injury, and even his confidence in front of goal seems to have disappeared. £100 million with Edwards and Hughes scouting and buying could get us 2 quality players... Mo's replacement and a No.9??
Would be sad to see him go, but no one can play at the top level forever
A lot of the problem with Salah is now we are playing the inverted right back, Salah is left on his own a lot of the time and usually against 2 defenders at a time in his career when he probably needs the most help.
I would love to have him for another two/three years but I don't think he will want to fade away to a bit part player which is what will happen.
He would be a king in the Saudi league and he & his agent know this.
If they offer £100m take it
I'd bite your hand off at £100 mil. Guarantee FSG wouldn't let him leave on a free. Surely he leaves this Summer.
My heart says keep salah for as long as we can. As weve had so many good times with him. But he is aging and for me not what he was a few years ago but still a top player. Watching him over the years i think he isn't playing as well but i put a lot of it down to losing bobby firmino and obviously players like mane. I used to watch the front 3 and who would you mark as they moved off the ball so well and all could score at any point. Rhe strike force we have now isn't quite the same i feel and bow salah is easier to mark as the movement up front is different and sometimes a bit predictable hence why i feel we have so many shots with not so much end product. So with all my thoughts i would try extend mo's contract for one more year but also if offers come in for 100m plus then I'd probably accept. Hes 31 i believe and i still beleive he can go to saudi at 33 ish and still command a good price. But we have to play the game and obviously need to replace him as he can play awful but still score 2 goals to win is games. Not many players if his quality about and for cheaper money..
This is one thing I don’t get with the club really. We say we haven’t got money for signings but then don’t cash in. For me it’s sign a new deal or we should be looking to get rid of any player with a year left.
We love Mo and would like him to stay but if he can't find his enthusiasm (or speed/skill etc) - that speaks for itself .
I'd cash in now Dunk. Mo has been amazing for Liverpool during the time here, lets cash in and bring some fresh blood in YNWA
Releasing those stories is probably FSG wanting to measure the feeling and sentiment of the fan base towards Mo. Sell or keep, they will divide fans so probably want to get the temperature of each option. For me I’d rather we keep him and see what a new manager can do to inspire him and if he comes good again then offer him a new contract. Besides this season and just after the RM CL final defeat he’s hardly ever injured so let him have a chance to get his fitness and sharpness back. Those saying he’s too old forget that CR7 was still performing top level at 35 and Mo’s fitness is on a par with him. If he does go on a free next season then at least he may give us another exciting season. And let’s not forget, conceding goals has been a massive problem this season too so by the same logic should we also sell VVD ?
Paul joyce saying same thing and will try to agree new contract
Plus Edwards massive fan of salah
It makes a refreshing change reading comments from true supporters who say how they feel but also are realistic and love the club. So many other sites i see and they just slate mo or put comments that i find highly disrespectful. Great content on here too. I'll be quite honest i get tired with all the liverpool news elsewhere and only listen to dunk these days. YNWA
Thanks for the comments mate
I found this an interesting watch. could Edwards be becoming too powerful. czcams.com/video/xC5ZzbGO7fI/video.htmlfeature=shared
Still clearly our best forward. Be difficult replacing his goals and assists when he does eventually leave be that this summer or next
Personally I think this news has broke to stop speculation after events of weekend. I still see him leaving tbh. Not heard directly from him, though if he extends I'm more than happy
Hi Dunc, I think the timing of this stinks of FSG using this as another opportunity to undermine Jurgen and his legacy. FSG will sell him at the right price that’s a given so why get the FSG orifice Ornstein to put this message out when all the debate is around Salah not being respectful to the manager? To me it shows a massive fall out has happened between the owners and Klopp prior to his announcement and FSG are using their media mouthpieces to undermine and damage Klopp’s reputation. Even recently that Melissa Reddy put the knife in saying how much improvement Slot has to make based on the last month’s poor form and that Klopp is not leaving a difficult pair of shoes to walk into. It’s filthy politics imho. What’s your thoughts?
What everyone seems to be forgetting is that Salah at this moment in time has no interest in the Saudi league.
Real Madrid are all in on mbappe and Barca can’t afford me. That realistically only leaves psg and I dunno if that would appeal to him. Edward’s might have a job to get offers for him. Especially when clubs know he could be a free agent in 12 months
Mo is a true professional, but you can't beat the clock. I'm sure he's frustrated as Hell that his form has tailed off, particularly since his injury. Jurgen had every right to bench him after recent performances. You have an exhausted manager and a frustrated player and the wrong thing was said in the heat of the moment. Adults sort that out with an apology and a handshake. I'd probably take the money if the right offer came in, but I'll not lose sleep if Mo stays providing there's a new contract.
Paul Joyce as well. I think his time is up.
I’m convinced he just needs a rest. After coming back from a longish period out of the team through injury, it takes a lot of match game time to get back to full fitness and he came back at the busy end - other players have been the same coming back - a bit off the pace and lacking full fitness. I’d keep him because when he is fit he’s lethal and it would be great to see how he slots into a new setup.
Thnx Dunc - much will depend on how Arne Slot wants to use him. After Mane left Mo became the main goal scorer and unfortunately his front support (Jota & Nunez) have either been wasteful or absent thru injuries. Mo has had this increased pressure and injury himself so probably feels that everyone is seeing him as the source of our recent demise. I hope that Slot can give him some renewed hope and impetus so that he extends his contract and feels valued again. He still has a lot to offer lfc.
Love Salah and I’m glad he could be signing a new deal, but that still doesn’t change the fact that he’s on a gradual decline.
I wouldn’t have complained if we took the decision to sell Mo this summer due to his age and his contract situation.
We’re a very sentimental club and we do hold on to players too long.
But it’s Mo Salah at the end of the day so who am I to argue.
He deserves it for what he’s given us.
Can’t see them letting him go for free. Could be another standoff this summer over a contract. Accept these extension terms or we’ll accept an offer for you. But then, he can just kick his heels in and say he’s staying he has a contract for the year. Could get nasty imo 🤷♂️
My concern becomes ok if they arent selling salah then who. Everything just seems to point to Diaz potentially move on
Surely Salah will definitely be going..can't see these owners not cashing in and letting him leave on a free
HI Dunc I think Mo has shot his bolt after what happened at weekend I cant see the owners and CEO being happy with what happened looks bad on the club ,looks bad on Mo and it looks bad on Jurgen so I can see him being sold if price is right .
If he’s staying he needs a new deal so next season they can get money for him.
The Saudi Pro League isn't as exciting and attractive as it was last year. Lots of players who went, now want to get out of it. Some already have got out of it.
My opinion is that if Salah WANTS to go, then we sell him. No point in keeping a player who wants to leave.
Better to sell a year early than a year late, though I agree on the thought that he's more likely to stay and see his contract out, especially since he could negotiate with someone like PSG in January. I fully believe that Mo thinks it's far too early to go to Saudi, so someone like PSG or Real Madrid are likely to be the ones that are able to cash in on a sale to the Arab league.
And I guarantee run me a bath is already thinking Madrid in 12 months as a free agent cha ching
The Salah situation is one that I would pay more attention to Fabrizio Romano over Dunc due to his close association with Ramy Run Me A Bath...Interestingly Romano hasn't given any Salah update today..
up to me I'm selling. he's giving off huge last season fabinho vibes not up to the pace. I do wonder have the legs gone I don't think his performance levels have been high all seaon I think he has looked slower but now the goals and assists have dried up I think its time for the thanks for the memories messages
Slots game based on two wingers who have to defend the whole line just thinking does salah has the leg for it or can he play up top
Get rid, the weekly salary (if we're to believe to be pushing near 350k) we're forking out can go a longggggggg way. Sell him for 80m+ given its a year left. his heart is no longer in Liverpool his performances says it all. Given he on over 1mil a month the only time he gets his hair done is when he goes to represent Egypt....Says it all
I think the question is, if Saudi is prepared to pay 100 million for Salah then would the owners think that he is worth losing that to keep him at the club for another year ?? Personally the answer surely has to be no. Would be hard to replace him but the club moves on when we lose legends.
Id have taken the money that was on offer last summer and let him go then. 20-25 goals a season should be very replaceable and the money on offer was crazy. If theres 100mil+ on the table this summer, its time to say thanks and good bye.
If the money is serously large and it could be given his mega status in Saudi, LFC just need to make sure they invest it very wisely.
I would have sold him for decent money back then too.
DKB as always.
Ornstein is just doing his usual bit for the FSG saying he's not for sale to drive up the price.
I'd be very surprised if he stays past the summer.
However I think that puts even more pressure onto Hughes and Edwards to sign a couple of strong replacements for him. The numbers Salah's hit consistently in terms of goals and assists are second to none and there aren't many of those types of players around in world football.
They need to get it right to give Slot a fighting chance. Replacing Klopp is a mammoth challenge, without losing the top goalscorer in his first transfer window. Particularly when you consider how others are currently performing and the overall lack of goals as of late.
It opens Slot up to become a potential scapegoat, if it all goes wrong. Whilst FSG pocket a few quid from the sale of Salah.
But I'm being positive, they will get it right and Slot deserves time.
All depends is Salah wants to go to Saudi Arabia this summer. If he does and they are offering £100-150m then he should be sold. His best years are behind him, it happens to them all
Melissa Ready reckons lots of European top clubs will be making offers this summer for Mo. I don't buy it tbh. There's only Real that could pay a big fee for Mo and they seem to be putting their summer budget to signing Mbappe. Can't see Bayern wanting him. Which leaves PSG.
As a fan I'd keep Salah but as a club we probably need to sell him now. I was gutted when we sold our best players in the 70s and 80s like Keegan, Souness, Rush and Fowler. I guess the club need to make difficult decisions.
He wants to stay ( Sala) so he gets a signing on fee when he leaves .. unless he signs a new contract. I’ll sell him
I’d let him go for free now. I’m sorry but I can’t watch a professional football player on over £300k a week refuse to shoot with his right foot, it’s embarrassing.
I'm for selling him. Imo, he's been amazing but has always been a diva. Now he's just not what he was, and the attack needs freshened up anyway.
Sign him up now for a new contract maybe 2 years with a release clause of £150m Then sell him in September when the amount is met
Hes not for sale ie he doesnt go Saudi he will go to psg imo. What do make dunk of slot becoming head coach and not manager. Edwards breaking up the tradional culture of liverpool having managers. Seems slot will coach the players and leave transfers to hughes and edwards
He is clearly not the same Mo Salah of previous years so the law of depreciation applies 😅
Wants to change his attitude then he has done square root of f all for 3 months
I can’t see Edwards and his team missing out on a big payday for Mo his drop off over the past three seasons has been to much to invest money into him when they could move him on for a tidy sum and get in a young talent that would fit the new coaches Ideas for what he wants. + I don’t think Mo Throwing his toys out of the pram every time things don’t go his way would be good for young players to be seeing with the new coach. For me I’d sell Mo .
I love salah, I'm a massive fan and he's been influential in the klopp era but after that altercation I think he has to go, unfortunately
Were you going to mention Amorim's press conference in a video?
I could ... but maybe it's just old now?
@@koptalk it was only Saturday 2 days ago, same as the Salah bust up with Klopp but it's up to you mate.
@@koptalk surprising he didn't mention Liverpool, or maybe he's keeping the relationship with them in case they come back in for him in the future 🤷
Sell Salah even if we only get 75M he's not even worth that now.
Salah staying can only be positive for the club
Time to move on from Salah, his finishing has fallen off the map, cash in while we can.
His greedy sell him
I would not let him go for free
Ideally.. but what can you do if no one comes in for him?
I'm not sure I want the fella to stay next season. Given the way he was with Jurgen at the weekend he must feel he's the top dog. I can only imagine how he'll act next season under a new manager. The manager (head coach) is and always has to be the top dog.
I do think he'll go and not for anything like the £150 m we reportedly could have got for him last summer. Watch this space eh.............
That huge pay rise last summer has gone to Mo's head. Great player but we have had the best of him. Fresh new hungry player needed.
Van Dijk Salah need to be sold both are washed up.
If this Adidas thing is real then remember Mo is an Adidas man …..
I said to sell him last year for 150, that's klopps big weakness he doesn't like letting players go. Edwards was more ruthless which I prefer.
MO SALAH !
Sell it!
Sell him
I would sell Salah, £100m off you go son. Also I would sell Trent too. Seems the lad has an attitude and some of his defending this year has been Sunday league Pub standard.
