The most complete female tennis player of the past 20 years even though her career was pretty short. I miss her so much, she was so different. Love you Justine.
@Nepoleon Khwairakpam What other players in the last 20 years are great across all surfaces, have won all of the Slams in singles AND in doubles and are equally good offensive as well as defensive players? Certainly not Henin who never won Wimbledon.
Justine is the tigress of tennis, she shows such great heart, grace & control, especially as the conditions become more challenging...she responds with super skills & determination. She is an incredibly sophisticated player and so obviously a lovely person! Yes a true heroine..;)×
She is the player for me, her game was all grace and artistry and intelligent play, not brute force. I miss her so much , the beautiful time ended so prematurely.
I'll never forget the moment when I was 14 at our hotel in Melbourne during the Australian Open, going down the elevator to get breakfast when the elevator door opened and in walked a sleepy Justine Henin. I didn't want to disturb her so I just smiled and she smiled back :)
Brookes D Nice. She is my favorite athlete of all kinds, but I've never seen her play live. I spoke to her a couple times tho, in my dream. I asked her how she truly felt when she played Serena, Lol.
She has never been my favourite player, but it's impossible not to admire Henin, if you're a true tennis lover. There's nothing missing in her game, and watching her play in 2006/07 was pure magic. Sometimes I wonder what she could've won if she was a bit taller and stronger. It's amzing was she was able to do with such a small size. You must be extra talented to overcome that. I wish her all the best for her new life.
She is my favourite tennis player. Just imagine when she retired in 2008 she had seven slams and Serena had 8. If she had not retired then tennis history would have been different.
I agree she’s one of the best and love her too But tennis history wouldn’t have been the same. Give credit to whom it’s due. Just like Steffi Graf winning a lot when Monica Seles retired. Things would have been different.
difference between henin and serena is that serena capitalised when she reached a final during her peak years. Henin reaches 4 finals in 2006 and won 1. while henin was amassing all those slams Serena was in a dark place- the brutal murder of her sister and injuries. by 2008 henin had hit a wall just like capriati in 2002, hingis in 2000 and Davenport in 2000. She wasn't winning anymore majors. Serena effectively put her into retirement. Henins so called successful year in 2007 by wining 2 slams took alot out of her. A champion should be able to bounce back which unfortunately she was unable to do.
There are no coulda, woulda, shouldas in tennis. We can apply the same "what if" logic to Serena. Serena missed sixteen Grand Slam titles in her career which is worth about 4 years in total due to injuries. If we factor in that she has won over a third of the Slams she has participated in, that means she would have probably won 6 of those 16 which would put her at 29 instead of 23.
She had the complete game, to take down the amazon women of her era.. and even had Serena's measure during her peak. My favourite female player of all time.
I remember watching her play Kim at Wimbledon which change her career when she slipped and Hurt her arms , never the same after the long injury lay off
You are the reason i started watching and playing Tennis, the best ever tennis player. I wish you could have stayed more, you need to coach Naomi Osaka.
No doubt had she not retired in 2008, she would have 10+ slams, and she might be considered the female Rafa at RG, as she was that unbeatable there during her peak.
This brought me tears in my eyes and moved me when she refers to her feeling connected to something bigger than her... that’s spirituality man. Also when she started visualizing her future as a champion of RG this as a kid in her room... I know the feeling, I’m not a GS champion just another emotionally miserable kid who got out of his trauma childhood by visualizing and sacrificing it all to live his vision... and I did it just like her... in my own way I want to give back all I got and made me a better person.
If it weren't for Justine, I would never have looked at women's tennis as a real sport. for me it would be an analogue of women’s football, where the game fades into the background, and most importantly how the girls look. just at that moment there were a lot of Russian tennis players (to cheer for their own) and just beauties, and then I see her play... it just changed my attitude in an instant. Of course, she became my favorite tennis player, men's tennis faded into the background and for the sake of her games I even missed football matches (although I only watched tennis when there was no interesting football). Her tennis is an art. this is when, in anticipation of a match, you close your eyes and imagine unimaginable combinations and plays, and then the match begins and it embody, or even surpass, what you dreamed of seeing on the court. There has never been such a tennis shirt and probably never will be. tennis is orphaned for me without her... thank you for everything, Queen Justine!
The most complete female tennis player of the past 20 years even though her career was pretty short. I miss her so much, she was so different. Love you Justine.
The most complete tennis player of the past 20 years is Serena Williams.
@@regulusarcturus Not exactly..
.

Certainly not Henin who never won Wimbledon.
@Nepoleon Khwairakpam Yeah, Serena is not a good tennis players. Go troll somewhere else buddy.
Serena is the most powerful female player ever but Justine backhand and drop volley are just perfect.
Absolutely loved watching Henin play. That backhand was a thing of beauty. She is one of my favorite players of all time.
agree 100% In my opinion Her and Federer are the best expression of tennis.
Mine too. Beautiful play.
Justine is the tigress of tennis, she shows such great heart, grace & control, especially as the conditions become more challenging...she responds with super skills & determination. She is an incredibly sophisticated player and so obviously a lovely person! Yes a true heroine..;)×

The players’ player. An artist on court. Truly the greatest of all time.
Henin is a treasure. Clijsters was awesome too, I miss this era of women’s tennis.... 🎾 ♥️
Great player and a great ambassador for the sport. She and Graf are my two favourite women players ever.
I'll never forget the moment when I was 14 at our hotel in Melbourne during the Australian Open, going down the elevator to get breakfast when the elevator door opened and in walked a sleepy Justine Henin. I didn't want to disturb her so I just smiled and she smiled back :)

The shortest woman to have ever graced the tennis courts...my god the most precise and powerful backhand she pocessed
That backhand is just a thing of beauty. Power and finesse.
Best backhand the game ever saw
Justine was my favorite during her time; shot making from everywhere on the court - the sport misses her game A LOT. I miss her game, too.
So much love and respect for Justine. It's a joy to watch her play. My all time favorite tennis player for sure.
Loved every time she was on court, it was really delightful to see her gifted play, I wonder if someone else will tie her someday

That backhand was a killer , just loved her attitude on court
Henin and Federer. My ultimate idols :)
She had guts. She believed in her ability to win. Do you remember the match she won against capriatti in US Open?
When she was like 2-5 down in the third and Capriati served for the match ? And then, Henin won in the Tie-Break
The way she played tennis is beautiful. Same with Steffi. Till now, we haven't found one yet.
Henin is my favourite tennis player , I'm so blessed to able to see her played. Love and respect!

I'm still mad at her for retiring in 2008 after having an amazing 2007 season 😭😭😭
She inspires me a lot
One of the greatest n the best in personality.
Women's tennis has never been the same ever since you left it.. will feel the same when Nadal stops too... i miss you so much
Same feeling here
I remember watching her play Kim at Wimbledon which change her career when she slipped and Hurt her arms , never the same after the long injury lay off
Justine henin, miss you so much. from indonesia
You are the reason i started watching and playing Tennis, the best ever tennis player. I wish you could have stayed more, you need to coach Naomi Osaka.
Jess
Why? Justine would turn Osaka into more of a defensive player. Their styles of tennis are complete opposites.
A true warrior 💓
No doubt had she not retired in 2008, she would have 10+ slams, and she might be considered the female Rafa at RG, as she was that unbeatable there during her peak.
Love you Justine!
my equal favourite female player ever, with steffi. killing every myth about single handed backhands
Best female tennis player to play this game!!!Love Justin!
No. Williams sisters, Graf, Evert, Navratilova, Moody, Court, King, Seles and Connolly are all better.
Imiss u justine so much
This brought me tears in my eyes and moved me when she refers to her feeling connected to something bigger than her... that’s spirituality man.

Increíble como Henin juega, su back hand es amazing 🎾
Miss you
Miss her so much in the tennis. She is much smaller than other tennis players. And her backhand is the most beautiful backhand!
Her backhand is better than Federer
Miss watching her...
0:39 is Dayana Yastremska.. she attended Justine’s academy.
Lovely story. Amazing athlete, outstanding champion. Beautiful backhand, a joy to watch her play. Outstanding player.

My favorite female tennis player after Steffi Graf.

昔から(現役のころ)から、エナンが好きでした。理由は「頭がよさそうだから」(本当は知りません) ・・・でも、上司にしたら怖そう。
Kim always choked against Henin.
the era when women looked like women and competed with serenaman
Queen of clay
I.use to wonder what happen to her
5 feet 5.5 inches -- Jesus...
