This I what really hits hard about this story. If CDC is supposed to be an advocate for rehabilitation and corrections. Then why is it after 30 years this man isn't considered rehabilitated. The system is rigged to target minorities and ethnic Hispanic groups.

@SharylRochin Johnny has gone to school for law as well, he's probably gone over it thousands of times. There is literally the fight of his life. He finally has the one thing that lifers wish for their whole time while being incarcerated and and after 30+ yrs of being incarcerated when it's his time they are trying to take it from him and his loved ones
Dolores is an amazing women. She made it possible for me and my family to see our son at Pelican Bay after not seeing him for 5 years. Dolores is a strong women, she loves her son in fact she loves ALL of our sons!! 🫶🏻🫶🏻
Dolores has done amazing things for the incarcerated. She organized a caravan from Southern CA to bring familias up to the PBSP SHU for visits - a long trip that many families couldn’t navigate on their own. She’s a freedom fighter for real

It touches me to see you have Dolores on your show. Dolores is a great friend, whom I've had the pleasure of working with the past few years. Dolores really is an inspiration to us all. It not too often you have people in our circle that does the work we're doing, on your platform. During the hunger strikes Dolores and other pioneers really shed so much light on what was really happening within CDCR. All of the advocates and advocacy that held the lines with us during that time opened up the gates literally to the work we were doing until that point. I started my prison project before the hunger strikes privately with the help of my law firm. If it wasn't for the hunger strikes and advocacy I don't think we would be where we are now with as many organizations and advocates dedicated to ending mass incarceration and the criminalization of minorities, women, and youth. Great selection Luck. Wishing Johnny to become free again sooner than later and the best always to Dolores! ❤

I would like to say great interview Dolores. She is a GREAT woman whose has helped paved the way for so many who are still stuck in that revolving door of the justice system. I know people who may have heard about this story in the media may come to the conclusion as so many do without knowing the facts of this mans case. If you are for the law, democracy and beleive in the right to justice then listen to what is being said /done to this man and to his family. He has literally beat everything that has been thrown his way and when its time for him to finally get that 2nd chance that he us entitled to look what happens. I know alot of people may think what i am saying is false but IF you know the law look at this. You see in The news all the time of people being unjustly convicted /persecuted for things and it gets the attention it needs .this is one of those situations but because of allegations that are being made, they are doing what they are doing and it is costing this man his his family their freedom. Dolores and Johnny did so much to end CDCr's use of long term solitary confinement, and placement in solitary confinement for mere association with those labeled as prison gang affiliates. This is a great example of how the government retaliates against those who challenge their laws and authority. CDCr retaliated against me for filing habeas petitions. The most criminal gang in the California prison system is the CCPOA (guards union). Much respect to Johnny and all those who didn't throw other incarcerated people under the bus by debriefing.
