Thanks so much for this video. I have the RTH8560D, which is almost identical, sans wifi.
It is a wonderfully simple 'stat, but it gets some bad reviews from those who can't understand the programming instructions. They really need to watch this, because this really is a great thermostat.
Fortunately, I've never had an issue (knock on wood 😉)

I forgot the code- Now it is locked andI cannot change any of the setting. Does this model has a similar factory set code? The "1234" code shown in the previous video didn't work? Thanks

So no "Auto" mode? Only Heat, Cool, and Off? I can't seem to find auto on our unit. Pretty gaping feature hole.
Edit: found it. Change it in the advanced menu.

Love this thermostat, and thanks for your video. Problem, I can't seem to have it default or be "set" to HOME mode. Instead, it's always in "Away" mode. How do I fix. Secondly, do these settings have anything to do with my phone's location? In other words, does it automatically turn to "away" mode if I drive out of the Georeference location??

any reason why the fan would be on even though the system is set to cool and the fan set to auto? the temp is 2 degrees cooler than the setting and the fan never shuts off. unless i turn it to on.

    • @potatochobit

@@jannikab2968 they make two different models - one has wifi only and one has z wave only. sadly, if you got this thermostat when you bought your new house it is probably z wave only and you need to subscribe to a monthly fee with your qolsys pad to turn the a/c and your lights on or off.

I have the Honeywell ProSeries T6 thermostat, but without wifi. The time on the thermostat is set accurately. I have programmed the heat to come on at 4:30pm on weekdays. Today is a weekday. Instead of the heat coming on at 4:30pm as expected, the heat turns on at 3:30pm (both in real time and according to the time indicated on the thermostat). I can see that the target temperature of the thermostat (the temperature in smaller font) is the temperature programmed for 4:30pm, not for 3:30pm.
Is this caused by a daylight savings override? If so, how do I turn this off?

Try this: remove the thermostat from the wall, remove the 3 batteries. Insert them BACKWARDS back into the thermostat. Leave them in at least 5 seconds. Voila! Re-install batts...
