So wonderful to see Frank and Michelle together again! Frank is such an consumate professional and I for one, love to hear his ideas and opinions of skating. :) Wouldn't a round table discussion between Frank Carroll, Dick Button, John Nicks, and how about, Tamara Moskvina, be so much fun?
The new scoring system was supposed to make things more objective, but all those objective things are still subjective, so it's still very subjective. Y'know what I mean.
At the next Olympics someone probably will put their blade in their mouth, LOL. The judges will be like" oh, she only got two revolutions, but I sure liked the way she bit the tail of the blade on that spin".
Whenever I see Frank saying good thing about gracie and seeing gracie being successful I just see what mirai nagasu could have won. If mirai had both Frank and Tom as coaches she would be winning so much more considering that she has a triple axel.
Carol was trying to package a very free spirited and athletic girl. Like sophisticated and toning down the jumps. I never saw Carol as warm or reassuring to Her. On Her success He was not very happy and Her ups and downs He was not reassuring. Frank just looks for the best talent out there and puts His label and let them down when its not Hype any more.
I mean in terms of PCS, Gracie did not compare to Yulia. She was robotic and choreo was uninspiring. Yulia's SL was a masterpiece and that step sequence was choreographed to fit the program perfectly. Yulia does really only have not sad expression, but that was the perfect expression for that program. She of course had beautiful transitions that timed with the music, and her spins were a lot better. Gracie did had better skating skills, though IMO.
I don't completely agree... Yulia was great but her movements in every program are extremely hasty that she always looked to me like a gymnast. Making faces (as all the Russians seems to be doing now) doesn't make you necessarily more expressive
Intimidation tactic, are you serious here? =_______= A common fan reaction, don't Americans react the same at their home arena when Gracie or Ashley comes out? Ridiculous.
When I see Frank and Michelle together.. I get very emotional! An all time duo!
I love how Michelle, with all her fame and success, still looks at Frank like an exited kid, eager to learn.
Michelle doesn't looks like she belongs at that table! I still see her as a relevant competitor, plus you can still see the fire in her eyes.
This is a fantastic interview. I love the interaction between Frank and Michelle.

Love watching Michelle sitting by Frank. However, it breaks my heart.
What should have been in 2002
@@50781975 you ain’t kidding. Michelle made a very arrogant mistake and it cost her dearly.
Wisest words couldn't be said
"someone who puts their blade in their mouth" LOL
Frank often brings up his dogs in interviews... Which automatically makes me like him

What makes a good spin is the speed and position. What gets the level and points is the Bielman position.
I also dislike the new scoring system...

Frank induced Gracie Gold’s eating disorder. He doesn’t need to be anywhere near Nagasu.
5 ears назад ... сколько перемен.

This is as stupid of a comment as I can imagine one to be…
Remember when Frank publicly fired Gracie without talking to her first?
🙄

Evan Lysacek would not have been able to defend his title...
I disagree. Chan and Hanyu were both subpar. Lysacek and Plushenko at 100% would have trounced the competition.
No offense but Yulia was on a whole different level at the time!🧐
Without skating skills and deplorable
Jumps that rendered her injured? Sure…

No! We also cheer the competitors of our own. You’re terrible at critical thinking
The grumpy man
The genius
If Gracie was 2nd to Lipinatskya then why did USA win bronze and not Silver?
it's a combination of all the scores of the different events short and long programs (men's, pairs, etc)
Michelle sounds like a non-native speaker of English, wth, she was born in this country!
ill answer michelles question: because theyre in Russia!
