Bike versus Run - Sant Salvador race, road versus trail.

Caroline and Mark decide to compete against each other in a race to the top of their local climb - Sant Salvador in Mallorca. The road up this famous monastery climb is 4.8km through beautiful long switchbacks and climbing a total of 320m. The hiking trail, used as the pilgrim route in the past, starts a little higher up and takes a much more direct route of 2.2km with only 280m of climbing. Mark and Caroline both use the climb as a training route (for both bike and run) so they know what it takes to get up there fast - and both think with a bit more effort they will beat the other. But who wins?

That was like the old Top Gear challenges, Mark looking round at the top to see if Caroline had beaten him! Great effort to both x
