    You don't seem to have much luck with these " all in one" systems at present. Your wife is spot on comment-wise. At least you have a good excuse now to buy some separates again. Oh well, keep smiling and best wishes.

    Great video as always!!! Sorry you got a dud. I have an older model of the Naxa unit same design and functionality that I purchased from Amazon in 2014 and it performs well to this day. The tape player works extremely well no tape hiss. CD player and radio both clear. Volume settings and remote work well. Overall I am pleased with my purchase. Maybe it’s an issue with newer models?

    Reminds me of a Sony unit I had in mid 90s with detachable speakers.

    • @xaenon
      @xaenon Před 2 lety

      I still have the detachable speakers from a boom box I had in the mid 1980s. The main part of it died in 1997 but I kept the speakers, and they still serve today on my workbench.

    That POS should have never left the factory. It’s looks so cheap. Defective tape deck out of the box and that tuning is so sensitive, it changed stations just by moving it.

  • @clmcdonald1

    The box screams I am plastic junk.
    Great vid.

  • @christronicsdereksrandomness36

    I wonder if it being out in the heat made the belts real soft and flimsy and now there's not enough torque. Cause I think I heard you say that it was still a bit warm when testing it.

    I remember back at Christmas 1998, my uncle bought his wife an RCA boombox, cassette/radio/CD player. Put a CD in it, but the CD lid wouldn't stay down, it was suppose to click shut. It would play if you held the lid down and the sound was fantastic. My uncle was a bit upset it had a defect out of the box. The cheapness had already started.

    Looks like you need to turn it in for a replacement, see if it was just bad luck?

  • @adrianandkatrinadove203

    This unit will be brilliant for someone who is looking to not play their tapes...ideally someone with a large E J collection,on tape.The issue with the speakers not being attached,can easily be resolved by either not attaching them,or if you want them attached,just attach them....(May be glue?)...Hope this helps ?

    A couple of years ago I acquired a pallet of similar stereo systems, boom boxes etc, all customer returns from a large electronics chain in the UK.
    The number that had failed due to stupid, fundamental problems in the factory (screws driven through cables, internal plugs hanging half-out with the glue still intact, components not fully soldered to boards etc) was staggering. I even had one where the solder blob protecting the CD laser had not been removed - this item clearly had not been tested before being thrown out the door.
    The quality control in some of these Chinese factories is pathetic - you expect such errors when buying eBay specials but not when they're being made for large corporations.

    LIKE 97. Boy, was I late to the party. Thanks for your noble sacrifice, Recordology. It's always a bummer when a tech company fails us or their products are not up to scratch or one aspect of their product is not working properly. Dang it!

    Two brands of AIO's I really liked, and that were inexpensive to buy, were Emerson and GPX. (Both were actually better than the Jensen I have now.) But I don't think either one exists anymore; I haven't seen those brands in a couple of decades at least.

    Can’t manage Tuner or volume on the control, has a cassette player??? 80’s tech on a 2020 device. My mom bought this, but after install I was so disappointed.

  • @stevesstuff1450
    @stevesstuff1450 Před 3 lety

    That was a pretty decent looking boombox until you got to the tape deck; though seeing the printed specs for it, it wouldn't have sounded too good anyway...!! ;-)
    A shame though, as it was nice to see the cassette deck as part of the boombox...

    Bummer. I bought from Amazon, about two years ago, a set of headphones. It was a company called OneOdio. Made in China. Fifty bucks. I looked at the positive reviews, and they were good, (but I now think they a lot of them were fake, especially the one that said he was a front man for various rock groups). They were crap. Now I go to the negative reviews first when I am buying gear. I didn't want to send them back because it was a hassle, so I gave them to my brother who is not an audio buff. I'll keep my Philips HP which I bought in the '90s. Now I buy only buy things from reputable companies. Audio Technica, Sony, TEAC. (I can't afford Technics!) Anyways, I hope your Father's Day was good.

  • @plan7a
    @plan7a Před 3 lety

    It's got to be a belt issue, as surely it would have been tested before it was dispatched? I hope the company sees the video and arranges a collection for it and sends a replacement unit with extras! I'd like to hope it is a mistake otherwise they'll end up losing a lot of custom, I'd think! (Sadly, it seems like you'll end up with a Frankenstein device at this rate. Bits from here and from there to make a monster of a unit... Just saying!).

  • @absinthedream9668

    I'd be thrifting for an all in one it's cheaper, the build quality/components on name brands in the 90's & early 2000's is much better than this sort of junk plus it's easy enough & cheap to add bluetooth to anything with an AUX channel.
