I wasn't expecting that. And for those who are saying to "use the out," my question is... when? Usually, when you have no idea what you're playing against, you may not be able to accurately know when to accurately activate (Called By, DD Crow, Droll, Nibiru, Ash, Imperm for example), especially if you have no idea *when* to use it.
Well when you see Exodia pieces you know where it is going, but I do agree with you, before the dumping of the four limbs I had no idea what I was watching. The first time, yeah I would hand the win to the Exodia player, the second time I see the combo and have an out in hand kiss a piece of Exodia bye-bye, namely using Crow or call.
Even after Exodia, how? You don't know how many starters your opponent has, not even how many win conditions.
Power creep still exist, knowing an archetype is only useful if everyone use the same cards.
I know that if I see an exodia piece hit the grave, I’m using called by of DS crow on it immediately
@@JonaGDPthere aren’t many cards though that can retrieve from banish zone. Don’t know if the opponent would have them in deck, and it would cause them to have to spend a lot more resources just to get that extra piece too
@@JonaGDP Most decks that run Exodia use that as the primary win con and really don't have a backup plan if it fails, this combo while long is meant to try to bait out negate so they can get the pieces into the grave and into the hand.
It was the backup soldier into Exodia that had me rolling...Bro legit just said "Let me get these pieces real quick."

As much as i hate handtraps, i'm at least able to put my bias aside and say this is why hand traps are needed. They stop FTK's and if you make the choice not to run hand traps you have no excuse for being salty. If half youe deck is handtraps and you still end up losing like this, you at least have the right to be salty. Sometimes that's just how it is.

Actually, Called by the Grave would have done nothing here.
Couldn't activate it during the whole combo, since it's opponent's turn and Called by isn't set on field yet.
Could only activate it after turn has passed, before/after opponent activates Backup Soldier, but unfortunately, they have Desavewurm in the graveyard and would just negate it.
There were other possible outs if they had drawn them though, like D.D Crow or Red Reboot.

thats what i was thinking. with so many spam half your deck and all your extra deck per turn meta decks i would love to see a card limit or anti massive combo limits put in. heck ill settle for a setting for a deck check option where if you toggle it on you can select a 5 or 10 combo limit and only face people who fall under that selection. so boring most of the time watching effect after effect for like 3 monsters on the field

People call Exodia OTK degenerate, but look at every other deck doing basically the same thing but with one more turn.
They should really make Exodia Necross retrain and make it a Ritual monster and give it all the anime effects. Using the pieces as material.

A very roundabout way of getting to Exodia, but it worked. If you're the opponent, how do you stop that? Only way I see an out to that is Maxx C and, at that point, drawing into all your Ash Blossoms with it and hoping you get lucky with what you negate
If I meet this on WCQ. I will impressed and have a bad mood for playing that day.
I'm really confused until it use exodia piece for ritual, maybe i will use ash or cross out first and didn't have any counter after that

Called by being usable during turn 1 by the enemy, sure.
Chain Called By when they activate the trap, banishing one of the Exodia pieces
@@sincere9222 If they had a called by in hand yeah it would have worked, or the opponent saw that combo and was pleased by the ingenuity of it and gave the win. I would have given the win the first time I saw such a combo, second time nope.
