  • The first seam can sometimes be a bit tricky to sew - in that the first pleat can easily be sewn slightly crooked....so it pays to give it extra attention.

    That make so much sense! People don't realize that there is a measurement in the chalk mark alone and that tiny measurement adds up considerably over a distance.

    I combed through your videos and couldn't find the answer to this question (which are all so informative btw), so I'm sorry if you already covered it. It looks like you sew the pleats down through one layer of cloth, which looks considerably easier than the way I do them by pinching the next pleat together and sewing through both layers of the next pleat. Am I seeing that correctly? If so, does sewing though only one layer compromise the strength or integrity of the pleat in any way? If not, I may try it your way.
