  • This video shows showcave visitors the amazing sights and watery action of the caves and the cavers who venture into the many kilometres of passages that lie beyond the Bottomless Pit. This is the full length film, a short version of which will be shown at the the Bottomless Pit inside the Speedwell Mine.

Oh my goodness this video was incredible. I did some caving and pot holing when I was at University and I really really miss it. Nowadays I have a spinal injury and I'm a few inches bigger than I used to be but I'm still tempted! I'll never forget coming out onto a darkened hillside in the Yorkshire Dales, The stars were out and everything was peaceful. I think it was the single most perfect moment in my life..... You get such a rush after coming out alive And then you get the peace and beauty of the Dales under a starlit sky. .....just amazing. Xxx

Thanks for posting this! I've been fascinated by the Peak, Speedwell, JH system since I first visited the show caves as a child. I grew up reading about the exploits of legendary Dave 'Moose' Nixon and the other cavers.

Brilliant video, the last time I was in the system we carried in some bottles for the divers who were diving in the main rising. A totally amazing system.

I was in a cave under a paper factory a few times. There was an underground stream in it where the factory got its water. I used it to cross between sections of the factory. It was something you have to experience to fully Appreciate it.

I last went to Speedwell as a child around 20 years ago, this video is now horrifying, better than any horror movie.

Awesome video. I love your cave adventures. Keep up the magical work you do. I know it's not easy by any means. But you make it look like anyone can do it. Thank you once again, until we see your videos again, God bless you and your team.......

Great video! I remember visiting here whilst on year 7 camp back in around 1993/4? We did the boat bit and I always wondered what the rest of the place looked like. Fantastic!

Leviathan wasn't accessible when I was there in the 1970s but the Peak Cavern link was pioneered by us - to the disgust of the Harrison family as we didn't have permission, it was a bit of late night guerrilla caving 😂😂🤣
