Did squash actually originate from fives?

Squash originates from Rackets to form Squash Rackets. They used to warm up in a Squash court before playing rackets. The Rackets court is huge. There used to be a game called Bat Fives played in a Fives court with a wooden bat like similar to a table tennis bat - no longer played. You can now play Fives on a Squash court with a ball which is a bit bouncier and zippier (smaller diameter) than a Fives ball.

I think that rackets (and its derivative game squash) evolved from fives-type games - 'handball' played in courtyards, with the building plinth as the 'tin' - strung rackets were added later
