Nice review. Hope you are still enjoying your v.3? Below is a peek at how you can switch into 3D mode in the future with NO fear of crashing again. Practicing more advanced flying with my FW450 v.3, SAFELY, is a goal and this heli's new "altitude recovery" feature allows me to do this stress free. Let me briefly outline this new feature found in the latest version of the Flywing software (version 2.0, downloadable from the Flywing website): You can preset a desired altitude in the software where the heli AUTOMATICALLY switches back to GPS from 3D mode when you drop below this selected, preset altitude. In other words, I'm up trying some new maneuver in 3D mode (above 20' is my preset "safe" altitude barrier) and I make the inevitable screw up, lose orientation, my brain is mush and the beautiful green v.3 is about to make a huge, smoking hole in the desert.......but wait!!! As soon as the heli drops below 20', it AUTOMATICALLY switches back to GPS mode and corrects to level, completely hands off, saving the aircraft. Extraordinary! Amazing! We old guys have been waiting for this for years...(please emphasize this feature in your next FW450 review) Thank You
Thank you - that sounds like a worthy update. I will mention it in my next flight. I flew all Summer and into Autumn but it is bitterly cold her in Oz at the moment and raining all the time - so looking forward to Spring. Loving my V3 and now i have acouple of foam planes which are great too!
Good review....you got unlucky with the puffy battery! I feel I can't trust the system in inverted flight 100% i've tried it a couple times but I'm more a scale flyer anyway I'm still flying mine a year later and its going great nice and no crashes or incidents. All I've got its couple tiny chips on the main blades from little stones hitting it when it landed on the gravel but otherwise its perfect! nice relaxing flight, mine was from Ali-express.
@@ratcat7668 Thank you...melbourne Australia! I did own the version 1.0 about 3 years ago or 4 it had a red canopy and a drive belt. Definitely not as refined as this V3, its just a solid reliable helicopter, I mean 24-26 mins flight time is insane for a heli this size
