Significance of Rudraksha | Sri M

Q : What is the significance of the Rudraksha? Why do people wear it around their necks?
Sri M says, "Rudraksha actually means, 'the eye of Shiva', the 'ajna'. Therefore, from the mystical or yogic point of view, 'Rudhraksh' is no different from the 'ajna', which is the eye of Shiva. That is the real rudraksh. It is called rudraksha because Lord Shiva is supposed to be wearing a garland made of rudrakshas, which is the only garland he wears, according to the Shiva Purana. So connecting the Shiva's third eye to the rudraksha garland that he wears, the rudraksha has earned a holiness in India from ancient times...."

I have worn a blessed Rudraksha, it was quite potent. It put me in a a very sedated mood immediately, I just wanted to feel its energy while doing away with all the external stimuli in the background, eg people talking etc...

Thanks a ton for your words of wisdom. I have been wearing a panchamukhi rudraksha mala with 108 beeds. Initially it takes a week or two for your energy to sync with that of the mala. Once your body starts accustomed with the energy from then on it's pure bliss. Now I remove it only while bathing and sleeping.

You don’t need to remove it while sleeping. You can remove it while bathing only if you use hot water or soap. If you are bathing in cold water without soap it’s rather beneficial to wear it then.
