  • The woods on the farm are completely overgrown with invasive species like buckthorn, wild grape vine, and saplings. It's time to manage the forest to allow sunlight in and promote the growth of the mature trees and new seedlings.

Great video! I just bought 40 acres that hasn't been fully maintained in about 30 years and have tons of overgrowth to deal with. You put together a wonderful, quick video that hit the nail on the head. thanks.

Looks great! Congrats. It’s hard work. I’m starting to do the same in my yard.

Try a Beaver Blade. It's a disc with chainsaw chain around it. They can be resharpened just like a chainsaw. No slamming it into trees, just rev the engine and let it chew through.

May I ask, how did you keep the underbrush from growing back? Did you have to plant any ground cover?

Great question since that's ALWAYS my issue once I make a dent in clearing.

I watched a video where they laid down weed mat and mulch to keep everything from growing back. It was over a large area which was cleared in stages.

Me and my dad just brought a Milwaukee battery powered chainsaw and hedge trimmers and cleared ground for a new trail for a fourwheeler

Hi, is the City OK with you cutting any or all trees? I was told I wasn't allowed to cut trees that are 8" in diameter. But those are all over the places and prevent me from getting a piece of land that I can make it useful (ie gardening).

do you think a DR Brush Machine would be good for a job like yours ?

I'd save up and rent a dozer for a weekend. You could make your property into about anything you want

what you did looks great though. I'm considering opening our woods up as well. I have a few acres is why I"m thinking about a dozer
