Ponniyin Selvan: 1 is an upcoming Indian Tamil-language epic period action film directed by Mani Ratnam, who co-wrote it with Elango Kumaravel and B. Jeyamohan. Produced by Ratnam and Allirajah Subaskaran under Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions, it is the first of two cinematic parts based on Kalki Krishnamurthy's 1955 novel Ponniyin Selvan. The film stars an ensemble cast of Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, R. Since it was 4:30am, Jayaram did not wish to eat anything. However, Jayaram told Prabhu Sir that there will be a break after 2 hours, which never happened due to continuous shooting. After sometime, Prabhu Sir started asking Mani Sir directly that he was hungry, since he hadnt had anything from morning. Finally at 2pm, Jayaram heard Prabhu SIr's voice in the backround about "hitting" Jayaram with the same stick (which Jayaram's character was carrying in the movie), since he couldnt have his food on time.
