- We teamed up with the Long Branch Police Department to discuss the dangers of substance abuse for their #NotEvenOnce campaign. This will be shared with high school seniors before they go off to college. We hope by sharing both of our stories regarding substance abuse, we can help others realize the meaning behind one of our favorite sayings, “why give up everything for one thing, when you can give up one thing and have everything.”

wow love that
Who in the right mind would thumbs this DOWN????? Mike we are so so so Incredibly proud of you!!!!! AND HOW FAR YOU COME!!!! we LOVE YOU!!!! 💋👏🏼
People who hate them just to hate someone lol I feel like people purposely go on and find things that they don't like or people they don't like just to comment hate and dislike 😅 it's sad I feel bad for them people
4 people who are high right now lol
Definitely thumbs up, why hate on Mike living his best life
Love how you give back and educate. I have been clean and sober for almost 7 yrs. Me and my husband both were both addicts and we decided to get divorced, we lost a paid for home, paid cars. We had a good life at 21 and 2 daughters. We spent a yr getting clean and sober started going to a great church, and then started dating again and then about a yr later remarried and had our 3rd daughter Hope. Our journey was hard but so worth it. So thankful and grateful for my sobriety and so great to see you as a public figure and role model for others!!!
Kati Phillips thanks for sharing your story! God bless!
Kati Phillips congratulations on 7 years :)
Kati Phillips were you ever on suboxone or Subutex?? I’m currently on it 2 years but it’s sooo he’s to get off. It’s the last step before I’m clean 100%. Just do t feel like it now
@@chad_garrison1991 yes I was on it for about 2-3 yrs it was tough to get off of but did give me a quality life back. I had to go little by little down to almost nothing then skip a day and take a small tiny piece like fish food size... Cbd helped with the withdrawals from that. Good luck honestly I know suboxone is controversial some say it is no different than the drugs you were on but to me it was totally different. If you take it correctly. My husband has back issues and instead of taking narcotics he takes suboxone when he has flair ups but it has been a while. You just have to do what gives you the best quality of life and what will keep you off of the substances that were hurting your life and yourself. Good luck Chad! God bless.
Kati Phillips thank you sooo much for your kind words and experience. It does help me knowing you went through the same. What’s funny is I heard it somewhere that someone else did the little fish food amount on their suboxone every other day so when it comes time I’m gonna try it. I already use thc but I wanna try cbd so I may have to when it comes down to it. But thanks again. Enjoy the rest of your night Kati. I’m just nervous cause I know I have to go through withdrawals again with a medicine I thought I wouldn’t have to but my quality of life is amazing so I know I’ll knuckle down and get it done. Thanks again(:
We need a Steve-o and Situation collab, sobriety looks good on you guys and you could inspire a lot of people suffering 🙏🏻
This is actually a really good idea for a video collab. Never would of thought of them together but now I want it lol
Couldn't have said it better myself!
Michael, you are better than a ted talk to me. Im glad you started a CZcams channel!
Keep it up, bro.I love that you know you did things and decide to teach others to not do it. I have tons of respect.
Mike really is a miracle. Not very many people make it to where he is. I have a lot of respect that he turned his life around even while life was still throwing consequences at him. Takes a lifetime to overcome all of the mistakes.
Hard to say not even once when doctors give them to you.. maybe doctors need to hear this?
Funny how life gives u lemons and U DECIDE to make lemonade. Mike has a gift and he continues to give. He is truly blessed and he realizes this. Everything he touches now comes up Roses because HE CHOOSES to do the right thing. Could not be happier for him and thankful he is giving back and paying forward. ♥️
He’s speaking the truth ‼️ God bless
I hear you bro. I respect you so much for being sober. I too am an addictive personality. I look up to you for your sobriety.
Wow he matured soo much and became more humble
Amazing!! Thank you so much for sharing your journey! I guarantee this will help save lives. 🙏🏼
I'm so proud of you Mike keep up the Amazing Job. I'm 17 yrs sober. God Bless you and Lauren. And congratulations on your wedding I absolutely loved the episode of your wedding. Love You Both❤❤ Jenny from Minnesota~😊✌🙏💪👍⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I love how you (Mike) are telling us about your addiction. & I'm proud of who you became man! Much love to you guys! ❤🙏
Much respect Mike and Lauren. Please don't stop speaking out and educating.
Mike, I cannot even begin to tell you how much this video has meant to me. I’ve listened over and over. I know you probably hear this a lot but it’s as if you were telling my story. But please just let me tell you how much I gained from the things you said in this video. Thank you, Mike. Sincerely.
Great message! Our kids need to hear this!
Hes the ultimate inspiration to be able to go back on that show and STILL NOT EVEN PICK UP A DRINK I don't think any addict in the world could survive being on a tv show that's based on partying. God bless them both. He will get all back and he deserves it.
Such an amazing person I wish he could come talk to my patients about substance abuse
Hana Victoria i wish he had a one on one with my husband 😢
I'm 3 years younger than him but had a very similar situation almost exactly the same and watching him has helped me alot!!
I am floored by how humbling your experience has brought you so close to the best version of yourself. And it looks like you have a pretty awesome support system too!! Keep it up, you should be so proud of your journey 🙌🏼
AMAZING!!!!! The open and honest conversation is what everyone suffering from this disease needs!!!! SO PROUD OF YOU MIKE!!!!
These two are both fantastic role models they have the reach, the influence and the experience to change lives and they're grabbing it with both hands when they could just be living it up carefree.
So amazing and inspiring way to go Mike keep it up!!
Keep working your program! You are clearly living it and a great example of the success that is possible. Wishing you continued health and strength to both you and Lauren.
Thank you Mike and LaurenS both for starting this channel! I am so happy to have a positive channel to watch now. I am in recovery from opiates also and I appreciate you giving back the knowledge and truth. Very inspiring. Thank you ! God bless xo. 🙏🏻
I love this video so much, and I’m so proud of Mike. I think, however, Lauren’s message that “not even once” should apply to opioids is more reasonable. To expect all young people to never have a drink might be too restrictive, and you don’t want to give them the impression having a beer in college is the same as taking hard drugs. I think people should definitely know their limits, and the best life is a substance free life. I am so proud of Mike! The fact that he stays strong and has such a great woman by his side is wonderful to see! Wishing them both a lifetime of love and happiness!
Education is so important! If only I knew...
I got addicted to opiates shortly after I moved to Florida and I honestly didn’t realize what was going on until it was too late. I had no idea what I was getting myself into, and before I knew it I was in the grips of addiction, and it took me almost 7 years to crawl out it.
I didn’t know Florida was named the Oxycontin capital of the US at the time, and that there were more “pill mills” on every corner than there were Walgreens’.
I’ve now been sober a little over 9 years, but I know too many people who weren’t so lucky.
I even lost the the love of my life, and I don’t think I’ll ever find that kind of love again. There will forever be a hole in my heart, one which time will probably never heal.
My wish is that (like in some states) law enforcement would be more focused on helping people, instead of punishing them.
Of course the law is the law, and if you break it, you pay the price. But I’ve also seen police departments where if you show up, hand over your drugs and ask for help, they will do all they can to find treatment for you. I would love to see more of this. I think it’s an amazing thing and could help many people struggling out there.
I love all the inspiration you both give, Thanks!
Congratulations!!!! Wishing you and your wife the very best
Another great video, thank you Lauren and keep your head up mike! Thanks for all the entertainment over the years and I hope you’re doing well and working out hard! Love from the UK guys!
Amazing!! I can’t wait to show my older boys this! Congrats love and light
Mike, you’re a good man. Best of luck and Godspeed!
We all look up to you so much you’ve been through so much and are so brave to share your story.
I hated the Jersey shore and hated you Mike. The person you are today is a very real inspiration in my life. The comeback is beautiful. Congrats and much love
Truly inspiring! Thank you Mike the Inspiration!
Wow so inspirational talking about what you’ve been through and overcoming and shedding light on those who need help to overcome this you are truly such amazing person for this!💛
I love that you are an example for others through your experience and maybe someone that sees this can help others going through your past experience. Hopefully you get back in shape and I see you back on tv in the future as a new person. Keep it strong. 💪
So glad you guys made this video! Very inspirational:) been going through the same things and same timeline now. Been sober since 2018 and feel the best I ever have. Turning 30 this year! Will never do drugs or alcohol again.
I couldn't have described this better....and the sickness is the apocalyptic symptom. My darkest days were that in withdrawal
Awesome. Thank you for raising awareness!
LOOKING GOOD SITCH!! ❤
You know I didn't like mike back in the day on JS. I thought some of the things he said was funny but I thought he was a MAJOR DOUCHE BAG TOOL!! And even he admitted he was. He thought he was hottest thing, (and sorry ladies I was never into the buff guys, though Mike wasn't as bad as Ron in the "buff body" department). And he did become the villain towards the end of season 3. But the 'Inspiration" is amazing and I wish him nothing but the best. The turn around on him is AMAZING! Getting clean, taking his punishment with such openness and clarity, and trying to go the high road, and use it to continue to better himself, and to reach out to others and try to inspire others. Amazing and I can say he has another fan in me
so proud of you Mike, you have came a long way, keep up the great work! #FreeTheSituation #NotEvenOnce
You are such an inspiration Mike! I hope this generations kids are influenced by your story and chose the right path. Sending all the love and respect to you and your family💕
You are such a great example for people !!! Keep it up!!
Always thinking of him 🙏🏽
Thank y’all for making this. You have such a reach right now & it’s great how your using it mike! Lauren, I’m so sorry for ur loss.😢 I lost my brother too & he was my rock. Addiction has taken way too many lives & im thinking of everyone battling it. I live in a place where it’s been such a bad problem, even tho I know it’s all over the country. But..small town small state..NM going on & I know more ppl I went to school with that did & STILL do drugs 10 yrs later, than not. Much love & respect for makin this❤️😘✌🏼✌🏼hope ur doin well in ur time away💕
💪🏻 love this! I wish them the very best 💕
Beautifully said.

Sending love from long beach !!!
So much respect for you
Amazing story. Keep it up Mike.
I agree with others in that I didn’t care for the old “Mike” but I admire the new one!! Stay strong 💪
I love this! If you could go around to different schools and talk about this in the future that would be great! Especially for high school seniors getting ready to go to college that way they'll think twice before experimenting. Good job Mike you're an inspiration and keep up the good work. #freesitch #notevenonce
You are amazing god bless you of you save one life that is amazing good luck 👍😘

Back in the day when this dude was on Jersey Shore I thought he was the biggest douchebag I've ever seen But now I totally got to give it to him he's turned his life around I respect the man now. Keep it up Mike wish you and your wife nothing but the best
Man this man is truly the inspiration, im currently trying to quit smoking weed and im on my third day. Its rough i want to give in but deep down i know i need to work on my self control
Respect. 🖤
Life changing
hell yeah Mike! keep it up!
Good advice Mike love ya
Thankyou so much😢😭❤
I feel you brother 💯
@mike congrats on making it out of jail/prison. But more importantly congrats in your recovery and sobriety. I know how difficult it is to kick an opiated habit. It’s an everyday struggle at first and def ppl should take it one day at a time literally. Looking at you and your story made me want to do the same. I doubt you will read this but I want to thank you for just putting your story out there and being honest. It’s been a difficult road for me and I won’t lie I’m still going through it now going back to the bad habit here and there. But currently I’m doing fine. Keep up the great work. You and your family are in my prayers and I wish you the best.
great video. keep up the amazing content.
Proud 😉 keep it up greats from Belgium
Awesome
Yayyyy I'm so happy for you
Anyone know what the top he is wearing is called. Need to buy one for myself. Very nice
Inspirational video but when was this recorded though was it before the jail
Respect to you brother ❤️ #FreeBigDaddySitch
The Inspiration
Free the kid!
Kk I’m gonna be honest and say that I watches you Mike on the Jersey Shore and I absolutely loved you for seasons 1-3 but then it was like you changes. And I thought that you was the biggest douche bag ever. But after seeing on both seasons of Jersey Shore Family Vacation; it was like wow who is this guy ya know? Because you literally blew my mind and I was so proud of you to see that you had made an positive change in your life and you continue to do that. And I think that it’s so amazing! Congratulations on being clean and getting married! And I just love you. I wish you and Lauren nothing but success in life. And I can’t wait to see more from you guys 💕💕
I'm curious if you use or used suboxone...
He should start helping jwoww with her demons
He really should!
You can't help that sorry but he had demons to face and she is her own demon. It amazes me that she can go on social media and complain that Rodger goes out on his weekend for a few hours with the boys but she leaves for months😕
Alisha420 were you there? You know for a fact he was only out for a few hours?
@@DeMO-519 what are u talking about. Alisha talking about farming simulator or something. Seems like she wanted to comment on dif video
Or Ronnie even tough I think Ronnie is trying sobriety . The one that needs help the most is Snooki she is a what’s called functioning alcoholic
This shit right here, is real talk.
This is truly a great video, but I think there is a huge counterpart missing, which is mental health. Many people start experimenting or using because they’re not yet fully self aware that they have a chemical imbalance, and they’re trying to find as Mike would say “that baseline”. That’s why so many treatment centers are dual diagnosis facilities that not only focus on drug and alcohol addiction, but also have psychiatrists and psychologists on staff who work with patients to correct these problems. Some people can go without medication, but there are those in need of antidepressants, anxiety medication, antipsychotics, etc. and it doesn’t stop there. There are eating disorders, a variety of behavioral disorders and so on, that can also lead someone to use. I think it’s imperative to mention this when educating people on the topic of addiction.
I'd like to hear Mike's thoughts on the suboxone program and what he experienced cause I to have a very similar story to his, and am sober know aswell, I'd just like to hear more on his experiences! My story is literally the same other than the fame and I'm sure there are alot of other people out there aswell, I think its important for people to hear his story and how he made it out because it gives others struggling hope and let's them know its doable!!
“When I was 16 I tried my first substance,” which was alcohol following marijuana.
Jeeezzzuzzzz. I feel like a terrible person now because I was 11. Yes, 11 years old, the first time I drank & got drunk. Then started smoking weed at 14. By 14, I was drinking every weekend. By the time I was 16, I was snorting pills. Any kind I could get my hands on. Soo... holy shit. I mean, using is using and shouldn’t do it period. BUT! God, I feel so bad for starting so early. Eeekkkk..
lot of ppl start differently..doesnt matter what age. Yea I wish u didn;t start taht early but it seems ppl like us it would have found us eventually at some point regardless..Matters how u fight it back in the end
🙏
I use to could not stand Mike. I just didn't like him. I still want to not like him, (because my dislike of him was so strong). But dang it.. I just can't help but like the guy now. I find myself cheering him on. #ProudOfTheGuy
