I'm pretty sure someone's said this already, but Disco Kid is one of the few boxers that doesn't hate Mac. After he lost, he took the chance to better himself. Doesn't even blame him for losing. Even when fighting him, he's still got a smile on his face. Disco Kid's a good guy.
Honestly, this is true for a lot of boxing games. Maybe its because of how limited the area the gameplay takes place in is, or because most boxing arenas are dark, which saves resources, but i cant think of a single boxing game that doesn't hold up

He needed to. In Contender, how he idled told you both what his next punch was and allowed you to hit him for free on the other side. If they were on your left, he was going to throw a hook. On his right, he'd jab with his left.
Don Flamenco and Mr. Sandman also have different idle stances on their Title Defense matches. They have an aggressive stance to them and they look at Mac with the utnost hate in their eyes.
My favorite is Bear Hugger and he's a lumberjack He's also kind of respectful outside of his syrup drinking and sleeping in the ring he seems like a good man
Disco kid makes me really want a new punch out. He’s so unique of a character that I want MORE unique characters. But most people don’t have a want for a new punch out sadly
He, Glass Joe and Piston Hondo both actually show different types of displaying the virtue of temperance. Glass Joe is just purely not giving up (and apparently this was what Little Mac was also back then before becoming Champion, sort of), Piston Hondo representing nobility and honor of the Bushido code, and there is this. Disco Kid - just puts on and keeps focusing on passionate things that he likes. And boy he doesn't care about what the other thinks about it. Also, he is actually much faster here than in Contender mode, probably matching to the speed of later Contender opponents
Don't forget Bear Hugger himself especially since he never wanted to ACTUALLY little Mac just improve his fighting Even with the sculpture of Little Mac, he never thought of destroying it with an axe or even burn it to ashes
I don't know if we need another Punch out game but I would honestly not be mad if they didn't. They've given these characters so much flavor and style that it's just so refreshing to see so much love being put into all of the punch out characters.

I've never actually seen his "i can teach you how to..." attack finish before the player just destroys him. I'm glad to have been able to witness it lol
So I've got to play the game again. And man, I've had a lot of trouble with Bear Hugger and currently stuck and Soda Popinski on TD. They're really fast for all that muscle.
I’ll give you some tips for both of them!!! Counter TD Bear Hugger’s attacks for stars, and then do the star punch during a stun recommending three star. And then keep hitting him! And for TD soda popinski I would rely on the stun. Take some time memorizing his attacks and time frames of it since they’re so quick and build up the stun to a high number. DO NOT get hit, just restart if you do! Also warning, soda popinski when he gets super red, his attacks are faster and he tries to hit you immediately every time. So just dodge earlier than usual for those! Good luck!!!
Disco kid would’ve been a great main character for those Fitness Boxing rhythm games on switch. I could see it now, “Punch Out: Disco Kid’s Rhythm Boxing”
Quick little tip (someone already told you this), but one disco kid’s 2nd phase, his first 2 moves are dances. If you interrupt his second dance (“I will teach you how to move!”) with a 3-star, you instantly knock him out.

It’s Don Flamenco, right? In his case, I lamed out and won by decision, land a few punches in the beginning of the round and just time him out. He throws very few punches on his own, he plays a very reactionary game
Oooh. You can try to do the infinite combo on him haha. But if you can't, then just get the pattern down of trying to attack him, he dodges or blocks it, and then throws another punch at you. And then dodge, and then stun!
@@zomebody5529 again, just try your best to dodge his attacks and then stun. I know it’s really hard to dodge but still try! But with the stun, you hit him in the head first and then the torso. Also, there’s a little hack hidden in the fight. When he does his dreamland express, and if you dodge all the uppercuts really early but still don’t get hit and then stun him before he says “WHAT?” Then it’ll put him in an infinite stun for that knockdown.
