Just blown away by the depth of this video. It's the best music video I've ever seen and I came up in the 80's when music videos were at their creative peak. The idea of dancing with the spirit of a lost loved-one, perhaps a mother, a sister, or a wife or girlfriend, really touches the emotions. It seems he is mentally and emotionally destroyed to the point he can no longer fit within the confines of the social standard. Very sad and moving. Cheers and keep up the excellent work.

Gosh, this is so beautiful beyond words! The melody, that few lines of lyrics, his voice, the strings and the dance, the dance!!! I can listen and watch this video over and over again and every time it makes me cry. This is a masterpiece! Haunting and beautiful at the same time.
A homeless guy who has lost everything except his backpack. See how he begins to dance, as much pain as he tries to get rid of through the dance. Then she turns up, from a time he never forgets.
He wakes up under a tree and goes to the place where they used to be. Where they used to dance together. He does it for the last time because he has to move on, start over.
See his relief when it's over and he walks into the town with lighter steps. He's free, she's free but still a memory, but now a good memory and he can now move on...

My oh my, can I identify with this video! There are many a man roaming this world who, due to the loss of a loved one, have become homeless. It takes away your identity, it takes away your dignity, it takes away your soul. The dreams are particularly cruel. You awaken to realize you are back out on the streets and your memory is only a dream. Eventually, that is all you are left with - a memory. In time, even the memory begins to fade, and all you are left with is a big gaping hole inside where the memory once occupied.
I had a mate called Steve who was clever, gentle and caring. He was a nice bloke and he ended up on the street. The last time I ever saw him was on a TV news item about the homeless and he was begging for money sat on a bridge going over Waterloo station in London. He's dead now. So sad. Such a waste.

Dad, I was listening to this as I sat watching the trees blow in the wind. I imagine your spirit is in that wind. I miss you.
I had found out this artist through a good friend who had me listen to it and....I immediately broke down into tears. Of course I knew they would be suddenly confused, but it struck me with such mesmorizing emotional weight and significance that it even brought back a wave of memories of what could only be a past life I dug up a couple years before then, back when I had my deepest meditation where I focused on a dream where I was holding a dying woman who felt extremely close and familiar to me even after I came out of it.
In the meditation I was in the point of view of someone doing everything he could to help support his wife with tuberculosis who had the same radiant blonde hair I remembered from the dream. I remembered certain details like the time period and general setting which had to have been mid-to-late 1800's in a house in the woods near a creekside (more on that later).
I had told a close friend about it that suggested that I take it with a grain of salt and try to seperate myself from the experience. However, it was difficult for me when I was in the point of view of another person's suffering.
But when I had listened to this again tonight on Spotify, there was a looping gif of a couple of search dogs looking for a probable body or lost person--in an almost identical creekside view I seen in the visions which just drove it all home for me to find out more about it (hence leading me to the music video).
I'm not not drawing concrete assumptions--but it's something I'd like to put out there because obviously this artist went through a very personal emotional event to inspire the kind of song and music video based on the overwhelmingly similar reactions from people about the tone of the song.
I'm honestly interested to see if the reason I broke down and remembered the things I did was because I may have picked up on similar feelings being played out here in the music video. I can't help but become mesmorized by how he's dancing with the ghost/memory of her but it always cuts back to him dancing alone but still dancing. Possibly as a metaphor trying desperately to move on even though the ghost of that loved one still lives in the back of your mind...as a memory.
I wish everyone and myself else could allow themselves to burst out happiness from memories as the man in this video did, even if it was only for 5 minutes.
