You may have noticed that Clark Gable's name went up the roster quickly, from 1931
to 'leading man' status, only a few years later! Hollywood knew that they had "Box Office
Gold" with this newcomer! I'm 77 & was fortunate to have seen some 8-10 of Gable's '50-60's
films in the theater & loved them, especially "It Started in Naples", which is a 'hidden treasure'!

Forsaking All Others is one of my favorites! You know if you watch Somewhere I’ll Find You, you can tell the pre-Carol Lombard death scenes and the post scenes. After Carol was killed, that sparkle in his eyes was gone. So sad!
As expected " Gone With the Wind '" tops the chart, One and only Clark Gable , I live in southern part of India , we used to get English movies two years later , and not all but most of them. Some movies like Bridge on the river Qwai, Ten Commandments , The longest Day , Great escape, , My Fair lady, Sound of music all ran for more than 100 days in one single theatre. Such was the craze. Your listing so helpful to know what I have seen and what I have missed, and also rating. Thanks a lot
Hi Ryan, there are many films on these videos I haven't seen and wish I'd seen, so making these videos has been very useful to me as a film fan. Out of the 50 films on the Clark Gable video I've seen about 20. My favorites rarely make the top 5 on the charts but I was happy Gone With the Wind topped this chart. Interesting comment, thanks!

I enjoyed very much Clark Gable performance in the movie "Soldiers of Fortune" with Susan Hayward.
I saw that movie in the theater in 1955 at age 9 & even though he was 54, Gable was still
"at the top of his game"! Did you know that Susan Haywood never went to Hong Kong!
She did all her parts in Hollywood & they used a 'double' for her parts, there!
Nice update on Clark Gable. So I have seen 20 of the movies listed. Favorites include #2 Mutiny on the Bounty, #7 Run Silent, Run Deep, #8 Command Decision #17 A Free Soul and #43 Forsaking All Others.....what a cast. #1 Gone With the Wind and It Happened One Night are classics. Two I am not huge fans of are #6 The Misfits and #30 Idiot's Delight. Voted up and shared.
Hi Bruce, I beat your tally by just 1 managing 21 out of 50. Flora's tally is more than both of ours put together, an astounding 45 out of 50! Gone With the Wind was an easy no.1 here and I've noticed it tops all of your charts too. Thanks again for the comment and share!

My sister bought myself the clark gable movie posters book last august.(it didn't arrive until september 15th). great reproductions of his movie posters and lobby cards as well. i really liked when he worked with spencer tracy.for i have all their films: san francisco(1936),test pilot(1938) and boon town(1940). i also have mogambo (1953) a remake of his earlier 1932 hit red dust. playing victor marswell.(how could focus on as a hunter in africa while you're trying to tame ava gardner)

Y La tragedia de la Bounty 1935 ( Mutiny on the Bounty ).
Creo que son auténticas obras maestras del cine imposibles de repetir.
La mejor pelicula de CG es "It happened One Night", better than "Gone With The Wind". Me gusta "Call Of The Wild" tambien.
What about "Call Of The Wild" (1935) with Loretta Young and Jack Oakie? His best picture!

It's there, #21 & was one of my father's favorite films of all time! I'm 77 & believe it or not,
my grandfather met & had a drink with Jack London, the writer, ca. 1900 in San Francisco!

I have seen a movie can't remember the name...all i can say the story....
" the Hero was a hero there in that film as well and one of his friend came to be part of industry with her foot dance ( shoe and wood Music)...during her audition she found the hero infront of the press she can't control and kiss on his cheek...and next day it came out with news and his married life was finished... He was going with the flow and the fan gan was getting part in his movies in short character... On of his shooting with the fan girl cause a hole film and he kept that film box...time passed the fan girl became famous with her new idea on movies with music and the hero became dull..on evening there was a Fire on heroes house he was unconscious holding that particular film box where he was shooting with that fan girl......."...
