I wish Vanquish, or someone, would make an “off road” 1/10 wrecker. I’d think with all the CZcams attention on those channels like Trailmater and FabRats one of those would be awesome on the scale and trail and crawler scene. Those guys do RC crawling too.
I've got a TRX6 G63 that I don't drive. I've been looking to use the Redcat COE body and make a wrecker out of it. The Redcat being a 2 piece can body is making it tricky. I do wish someone would just make a cool one rtr.
Cross rc has a tow truck, it's like $675 on Amazon
Cross has an awesome off-road wrecker, I'm not sure how much off road you're talking about, but I say it's comparable to a TRX4...and probably little bigger, I have seen it in action very cool/capable R/C!!!!!
Cross RC also has a rollback truck that’s a little more of an on road truck but it’s cool.
@@jeremyofthejungleyeah it’s a cool truck, but it’s 1/8th. Looks pretty big next to my 1/10
The AC6 is a Kamaz 4310. I don't think Cross RC had a Kamaz truck before, so this is a whole new design for them, not just a variation.
Fun fact: "the backrooms" original photo was also in the back rooms of the Hobbytown in Oshkosh. No joke real fact
I run a venom duo pro and an ISDT Q8. I like the Q8 for charging on the go and the venom for at home charging.
Yeah I was really hoping to hear that vanquish was releasing the H10 in kit form but that’ll probably be next week…right? 😉
We can hope!!
Yup, no kit, no care.
I've been rocking an onyx 245 for a long time. Started working in a smart s155 and g2 stuff as things grow.
Onyx 235 here. The fan has been noisy on startup forever, but it doesn’t seem to be in any hurry to die.
Yes, I still have the timer knob charger. But the timer broke so I replaced it with an on/off switch! I think I have over nearly a dozen chargers of various brands. If we are including those little usb balance chargers, then I have well over 20!
Thanks again for the update. I'm looking forward to Rockie Mt. videos! 👍🏼
The wheels and tires of the MN168 look like lego wheels and tires for sure
First, since neither you, nor anyone else, seemed to realize it, I'll say, "Thank you for Episode Pi" (honestly, I was expecting you to make a joke about it).
Ok...onto this week's question. I have two different charging setups - a 'secondary' one for Mini-Z, and a 'primary' one for everything else.
Starting with the 'primary', it's an iCharger 406 Duo, mounted inside a Precision RC case, with 1500W PSU, having 3 power leads coming off the PSU. The first is for powering the 406 Duo. The second passes through a regulator that straps the voltage down to 5V, ending in 4mm bullets, for powering lower-voltage devices, such as a "corner weight balance system". The third goes to another pair of 4mm bullets, for powering a second LiPo charger (when needing to charge 4 packs simultaneously), which is currently a Hitec X2 Black. Lastly, there's also a dual USB port (for example, for charging a cell phone, while also powering a pit lamp), which also has an LED readout showing current voltage coming from the PSU. Both LiPo charger are capable of up to 6S charging.
Moving over to the Mini-Z charging setup, it also consists of multiple chargers - two for charging rechargeable AA/AAA batteries (one can charge up to 8, while the other charges up to 4, for up to 12 batteries simultaneously), and a third charger capable of charging up to four 2S LiPo.
That Door latch thingy is pretty clever. I still have an old a$$ single charger ...i guess its a skyrc...no idea.
I have been using a Spectrum S1200 smart charger, works quite well for all my different types of packs.
I love my Venom Pro Duo charger! I've been thinking of getting a Spektrum as well one since I like small cars and they have those damn proprietary IC2 plugs with no balance plug
I run only spectrum smart stuff. I have 2 newer chargers that work with the G2 stuff. One with the slides to do ic5/ic3 and a smaller one that only takes ic3. The smart charge is a life saver. With 14 batteries, it's nice to just plug them in and they charge.
New to the hobby. Went with a dual spectrum and lots of adapters. Lipo batteries made me nervous so I researched it and the guy said how fast do you want to charge a 2 cell. Response I’m only buying one charge no matter where this hobby goes. Who would have thought you could spend hundreds building a scx24 from scratch 😂
I agree. Buy a good charger that will do up 6s per channel.
Just don’t let them sit on a charge. Keep them at a storage charge of 3.8v a cell
I’m still using my Venom Pro Quad and Pro Duo chargers. Very pleased with the service and reliability. ✌️❤️RC
Htrc duo has been doing me well for the last 4 years.
Traxxas EZ Peak I got with my Slash (first hobby grade RC) 8~9 yrs. ago. Planning on just keeping it until it quits.
Even though I am out camping. I had to make sure I watched and liked the Scale News Update. I use a Hitec duel port charger. I guess I have had it 7 years, maybe longer. I want to upgrade to a Gens Ace charger, but I haven't seen the need since my Hitec one works just fine.
I'm using an s2200 G2 charger. I like that I can plug it my smart batteries and not have to worry about anything.
I own a Reedy for the track and a Spectrum S2200 smart charger for mainly crawlers.
I have an S2100 from Spektrum, can full charge a 5k MaH pack in like 15 minutes. Love how it's simple and just works, and I don't have to remember to storage charge my packs. I'd love to see that kind of tech in other size packs though, even if they're different brands.
Same and love it also
I’ve got an old 6060i Hyperion charger. Does nearly all battery types. Had another but it finally quit on me. After 12+ years. But I absolutely love this charger. Does almost everything and lets me charge at whatever amperage I want.
And a Spektrum smart charger i picked up with a rig while out of town for work.
Very sad to hear that USTE is no more. I attended in 2022 and 2023 and it was the best event for scale trucks IMO. The trails were super well prepared, there were abundant activities for other types of trucks and the vendors plaza was great. The grounds, located at the Cedar Lakes Botanical Gardens, were also amazing.
I use an iCharger 306B and parallel charge boards. That setup charges up to 6 x 6s batteries at a time at up to 30 amps. I've been using it for years - it's great.
I have a venom quad, an ISDT dual and two Traxxas duals. All the bases covered
Still rockin’ Venom Pro Duo & E-Flite chargers
Funny you mentioned old chargers. I still have and use a green venom procharger on single batteries. About 10 years ago i was asked by a hobby shop employee what i was using for a charger he was shocked to hear that one of these was still working. Apparently it's so old they switched from green to red in the time that I owned it and the red version was discontinued shortly after.
My charging situation is pretty lame. I'm still running the old Amazon special I got when I first got into this RC thing 5 years ago. Is it great? No... Does it work? yes... Do I want a better set up but don't want to spend the money? Also, yes....
I use a Hitec x2 plus black edition. I enjoy the bluetooth connection and app to monitor the charge.
X2 AC Plus 2 port ac/dc multi chargers. Idk probably like 8yrs old still runs like new. I’ve charged batteries for the exit emergency lights at work. Does a great job. I can also charge both my 3s 8AMH 100c lipos at the same time. Been plugged on my truck battery in rain and dust conditions and fits down into the engine compartment keeping the hood resting on the striker. Ran the engine of my truck while it’s charging and has had no fits.
My dad has this design in the 4port as he enjoys the quads and drones etc. I’ve dropped mine etc left on for weeks.
I have a bunch of chargers. Mostly spektrum smart ones. A few traxxas ones. Then 2 hitec rdx1 chargers for anything else.
I have 3 chargers: iCharger Duo, Spektrum, and a Traxxas to cover all the various batteries I use.
Still rocking the old duratrax itellipeak ICE charger I got back in 2009.
I straight up still use my Lectronpro balance charger. I run gensace. This charger is old faithful for me. Never felt the need to upgrade.
Yeah got a bunch of chargers.. A few really old ones: Team Novak Digi-Peak charger, Graupner Ultramat 14 (was intended as a spare and never used), SkyRC B6AC V2, Ultra Power UP6+ and also (spare NIB) a HTRC T400 Pro duo
2x dual chargers on top of bat safe boxes. Usually have to charge a bunch of large packs for me and the kids in a hurry
My primary charger is a Revoletrix (FMA) Cellpro 6. It is by far the best charger I have ever used, I'd even go as far as saying it is the best RC purchase I have ever made. With all of its capabilities I don't even limit it to just RC charging. I have built numerous adapters to charge power tool batteries with it. I just hope it never breaks down since the company that made them no longer exists.
MN Lego was my first thought too.
Junsi iCharger 308 duo. I don't remember how many watts my power supply is, but it's most of them, LOL. I bought that setup when I was carpet racing. I have an older single-channel iCharger in the Jeep for field charging.
I have a B6 I use at home for my charging but I plan to get a dual charger and save the b6 for a backup. I also have a skyrc b6neo for charging in my car and it works great.
For quick travel. The gens ace dual is so simple.
For racing I built a 3 cpu 36volt 100 amp case with 2 Isdt intelligent chargers.
Tenergy. It's one of their digitals I bought off Amazon. It's awesome. Very happy with it.
HiTec mini X2
Lectron Pro 100w
Various USB chargers
I'm pretty happy with all of them.
Another great video!
HiTec 2ch for all my charging duties, both at home and whilr traveling. Would like to get a better setup eventually
I use the Gens Ace imars dual. It’s amazing! Got it on sale after another charger I had just died.
I have two Hyperion 0606i chargers... been tempted many times to upgrade, but they still work really well so I keep putting my money back into my rigs.
I have on old Hobbyking generic charger that ran of a PC power supply for years but now I use a Protek dual charger with a built in PS. Also a small generic charger that stays in a big roller case for racing.
I still have the basic Lectron Pro charger available at most Hobbytowns... or at least it used to be. I've been racing 2wd buggy and stadium truck on indoor carpet so I also have a DC setup. It's a Muchmore Specter with the discharge pack so it'll charge and store/discharge up to 40 amps each way. I stored a fully charged 3S 1500 crawler LiPo over the weekend in under 3 minutes😂. Totally overkill for our little 3 and 4S packs but it's really nice on the racing side
one charger for last 5yr before that it was the old blue IMAX 😂 I Really need a new one 👍👍 cheers buddy 🇬🇧🤸
I currently use a ident 608ac battgo and it gets me up and running. I definitely want to upgrade to a better home solution like the Gens Ace D300.
Decided my 200w Turnigy touchscreen unit wasn't cutting the mustard, so I made the leap to an eFuel power supply unit with twin outputs (plus USB) and adjustable output, powering a Turnigy 4 x 600w charger. Couple that with some parallel balance boards and I can charge more packs than I end up using 🤣🤣🤣
I run spektrum batteries and chargers for the safety factor and ease of use.
I love my Gens Ace Imars D300, small and compact, and enough power to charge two packs fairly quick. Still have a Super Brain 960 on the back of the bench for nostalgia reasons😎
I'm still using a Thunder AC6 charger that I bought back in 2010 I believe.
I use the Gens Ace Imars Dual charger. It does everything I need and is nice and compact.
I have a variety of NiMH and Lipos for my earthmovers and the occasional 1/10 buggy. I still use the infamous imax b6 charger :D Also a lab/bench power supply with adjustable current and voltage limits comes in quite handy at times, but you have to have your brain switched on to set it up correctly.
I have a box of old Tekin esc's all in good shape, guess what was once old is new again!
I use multiple chargers Thanks for the videos
My first thought, when i saw the thimbnail was that the H10 Optic kit was released. 🧐
I have two Hyperion EOS1210i chargers and just got a SkyRc D200 neo+. I want a charger that also has a decent discharge power. The EOS has 50W of discarging power. The D200 can be connected to a external load which gives it 350W of discharge power.
I have two Chargers. My oldest is a Razor's Edge twin 400 DC 10 amp charger for a total of 400 watts. My newest is a D100 V2 by skyrc. I got this for the internal resistance meter. I use the Bluetooth programming just so I don't have to hit the buttons so much on the charger. I never charged my lipos past 1C rate.
iCharger duo, but I also have a couple Tekin peak chargers from the 80's if I need to charge NiCads or trickle something.
Thanks for the news. I do enjoy it. I buy a lot of my rc used. I currently have 5 chargers. I can charge 7 batteries at once, lol. I have a crazy amount of batteries(for bashers and crawlers), which i am sure most people can relate to. I do like the smart charger, and they work well.
Currently I’m said to say. I’m using the naf usb charger lead that came with the two cheap (Wpl d12 & random car) vehicles. Once I actually get round two affording a proper vehicle then research will start for a decent multi use system.
I run lipos in all that you can remove them easily. I use a nice multi connector charger for those. My favorite car is still my Wraith, that only the chassis is still plastic. I run an old style stick pack, since it takes way too long to remove it. For that, I have an old twist nob timmer charger that still works awesome. Pluss it hooks up to my YJ or Bronco battery when in Moab.
see you saturday! im pretty happy w my charging setup, im running that hota 2 something or other. dual port. able to charge 3s and 2s simultaneously. nice screen with good tactile buttons and a nice sound. no on off switch just plug it in. i spend more time looking at my trucks than running them so its works perfect for me :p
Old hi tech 4 port from 2014 and a 25 year old 15 amp pitbull power supply for charging at workbench. Old sky 12 volt charger used to charge from truck battery when at trail and travel. When charging at workbench a large fan to keep charging system cool.
I have a HiTec Professional Balance Charger/Discharger X4 Eighty 200W. I have been really happy with it. I connect it to a deep cycle 12V battery so I have the option to bring it out on outings. With four independent ports I can prep 2s and 3s batteries at the same time. I use Kevlar charging bags for peace of mind. The best part is it is convenient to take up to four batteries to a storage voltage to prolong the life.
Got same charger . 2014. Fan sensors have failed. Run a large external fan to maimtain cool charger temp. After 10 years this 4 port charger functions perfect. Keep mine on work bench . Travel with a 1 port dc compact to charge off truck. The hitec was a good choice. Think these are discontinued.
I run IMARS Dual charger & very happy with it. Mainly, Gen Ace 3s 2200 with XT60 batts, but still have some oddball batteries too
I have the Icharger dx8 and I love it. There extremely high quality and have every function you could ever ask for.
Onyx235! Bought it when i switched to LiPo. 10 years ago. 😳
I’m running a venom pro 2 from 2017. It makes a really funny noise when I first start a charge. It goes away after a couple seconds. Should be fine.
I use my traxxas charger for all my battery’s! Love the bluetooth capability of it.
Had an old hitech 4 bay charger the screen finally went out so just bought two imars duos I’m very happy with them so far
1 single charger, bought used back in 2017. Need to grow up and get a dual charger.
I run a Icharger 4010 at the house and race track. But need to get something small for when I just take my comp and trail trucks out.
Hitec X4 eighty is the charger I mostly use. I like the fact that it can charge 4 batteries at once…>
I did for a long while have a bunch of those Skyrc B6 whatever and some version of it from I Think either Orion och Associated but a few years ago I got me a Skyrc T200 which fit my need perfectly, I can charge two batteries at the same time and that basically all I need :)
I run a HOTA D6 Pro 2-channel charger, it's all I have and meets all my needs, but I don't get out as often as I would like, so my charging needs are pretty low.
I have a HOTA D6 Pro dual charger. I love it. I grew up on Duratrax 4 button chargers and the D6 is great. HOTA has the same interface as ISDT and the Spektrum chargers.
Venom Quad pro, and I have both LiPo and Nickle Metal batteries. As the only ones that need the LiPo are my CXT and Snowplow. The crawlers will do over two miles on a 3000mAh nickel metal pack.
Spektrum s2100 charger. It'll charge anything up to 6s and doesn't even require a single button push when charging Spektrum batteries. Other types it reads and sets itself up with only 2 presses.
Ah man that sucks about USTE, it was a random short video from uste that got me back into rc!
ISDT Q6+ It does ok at home or on the field and doesn't feel like an 80's relic to use.
I have a Protek Prodigy610ez, which I like…however, it can only charge one battery at a time. Frustrating because I run my trucks/boats/promoto 2-3 times a week, I take 6 batteries every time I go. I just haven’t spent the time researching an upgrade, but I think now I’m motivated…thanks for the nudge 😂
I have a protek that came with the yeti i bought when I got back into RC in 2019... its a dual charger but only have leads for one at a time.. I do want new charger but just have not pulled the trigger on one.. thinking the GensAce dual charger
I have a hitec x4 that does 4 batteries at once. It was $200 but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. It eliminates the need for anything else. I’ve been using lipo since probably 2010.
I have a Traxxas charger from when I bought my UDR, now it just collects dust. My other is a dual charger I bought off a guy for 50 bucks about 6 years ago, and one that is now close to 20 yrs old. Both still going strong. I sure all of these were made in the same factory in China. (Along with most others)
I got the spektrum s150 (i think) a tiny block of a charger but it works fine for my needs. I wanna upgrade to a more functional charger tho. Good luck and have fun in Colorado 🤘y'all have a badass day🤘☕️🤘
For some reason, I am always looking at chargers. I use a ISDT q6 charger at events, I also have a skyrc S60 (4 button charger) as well as an old dynamite Prophet charger. I also use the 900 ma B3 charger for my comp batteries. I should just be a new nice 100-150a charger I think.
I run Traxxas lipo and charger since I started the RC 7 years ago, it's simple, working fine, using it with adapters on all my trucks, a 4000 mah, three 5000 mah and since I got a carbon with small batterie place, i got two 1400 mah
I thought that tool stand was a shock building station, even after u showed it with wrenches I thought those were shocks still.. hahaha. Took me a minute....derp
I like my Hitec charger, but one of the isdt chargers that can revive cells and tells you everything about the battery when you plug it in would be nice.
I have a VENOM dual battery charger love it.
I run an EV Peak CQ3 4 channel charger and then for comp days or when travelling I have a small ToolkitRC charger that I use for topups with a big 6500mah battery to power it.
I use a SkyRC T100, only problem I have with this charger is no 1S Lipo charging feature (I use 1S batts on my MT44) so I use an older charger for that. I plan to upgrade to a newer SkyRC charger that supports 1S soon
Hirec x4 with blinky balancers.
Imars Dual sits on my workshop table at home. Hitec dual charger stays in my travel bag for track racing.
I have several chargers. Wish I had one for all batteries. I use both lipo and nimh.
I have a couple isdt chargers and they are solid.
