@@nastybastardatlive i agree....it doesnt have to be ''restored'', but it could be ''saved''........no reason why that car, as long as the body is capable of standing up on its own 4 wheels without collapsing, cant be tucked into a nice garage, given a thorough cleaning, a quick once thru on the suspension steering and brakes, and a rattle can rebuild on the motor and or trans, and have that beast cackling in the driveway.......even if its just to stand back and look and listen to it.....in all its patina'd glory.

Back in the 60s you could get a stripped down car from Ford or Chevy with a big block police package and dual exhaust. Requests became popular enough that Ford actually started making a "street rod" with a big block, "delete back seat" as a package for those who just wanted to go fast. Look up the Ford T-Bolt. (pre Mustang) Ford eventually saw the $$$ and turned the Mustang into the Shelby Mustang for quite a few extra $$$ as a package deal. Despite the "package deals" people were still able to order pretty much whatever they wanted if the factory made it. 4 speed and sway bars in a wagon? 409 4 bbl v-8 in a wagon? Sure, why not? Today? WTF?

Funny you should mention those emblems. I just went through a box of crap in my garage and found a turbo emblem from a mid 60s Corvair that no monger has it's mounting studs. I repurposed it as a Xmas tree ornament with a bit of 5 minute epoxy and a hook. I knew there was a reason to save it!

I had several old Chevy nova , Chevelle in early 90s for 1000 dollars. These were running vehicles too. Today's stripped down junk are parts cars or stolen cars from 20+ years ago

My first car was a 1970 coronet 440, it had a 318, I bought a 1970 coronet R/T in 1989 sold it when I got divorced to finance some parts for a 68 charger, I sure wish I'd kept those cars!

I've got a 74 charger right now, rescued it from the salvage yard because vintage Mopars are rare where I'm from, even in salvage yards. Just to get it in dry storage at least and I got the engine to fire briefly.

when i was 4, my sitter took me, along with their family, to buy a brand new 71 olds cutlass supreme. they traded in their white 67 charger for it. i don't remember much excitement... but i do remember they were bitching that the cutlass had no fuel in it. LOL

Given what rare Mopars get at auction, I wonder if this might be a good candidate for restoration. Probably walking a thin line between money into it vs money you could get back - I guess it depends on your skillset and how much you value every hour you'd spend on it. Then again, forget profit motive - how great would it be to just do the restoration as a hobby, have your son or daughter and maybe some friends help then just keep the damn thing? Sounds awesome to me!
It's great to see there are boneyards that still have this stuff around. Where I am all this stuff was scrapped by the yards when steel was high in demand/price. All newer model crap now .... Back in the 80s they were loaded with stuff like this and prices were cheap then.

What the heck! That's $125-150k up here in Canada fully restored with that 440 updated and completed... I've seen worse brought back on other media channels. It's rarity and beauty necessitates it!
I like the 1970 Coronet front bumper and how it surrounds the head lights. I’d prefer the 2 door post superbee, the underrated muscle car where the charger and the roadrunner received most of the attention.
The R/T may have been top-of-the-heap, but if I was a young guy stopping into the dealership in November of 1969 with some combat pay burning a hole in my pocket, I’d have probably ordered a Super Bee! Hopefully, it would still be sitting in my garage today for Saturday afternoon cruises……👨🦳
I think, when you went in the store with your R/T money (3 year old body style), you would have bought a Charger or the brand new Challenger. Well, that's what nearly everyone else did. And why there were so few. 2615? I wonder if there was even one per dealership. Perhaps sent out by Dodge, not even ordered.

Being such a nice performance car you have to wonder why the owner did not attempt to keep it stored in a place that at least is not in a wet field.

Ford had a couple I personally liked too. The Grabber series of colors. Grabber blue, grabber green, grabber orange.
