    Just a question I hope you can answer seeing as you have both a hornet and mt03. Does the mt03 feel very sluggish and boring coming from the hornet as I am currently considering trading my hornet in for an mt i primarily use my bike for commuting into the city centre and very little else the hornets great for it but I feel like don’t need that much power or fuel consumption

    • @iride1999
      @iride1999  Před 2 lety +2

      Good question man, obviously the mt feels slower but you can still go 0 to 100 in just over 5 seconds, thats not slow by any means. Where I feel the biggest difference is cruising on the motoway, you gotta rev it quite high to cruise faster than traffic, the bike can handle it its just vibey and not very comfortable. And the bike is never boring especially with a full exhaust, brapping round the city is great fun. If I was commuting in the city I'd pick the mt03.

    Do you have the stock throttle tube, or have you switched it out for something like the R6 tube. Your downshifts look and sound great. I'm still struggling to get my shifts to be smooth on my 2019 MT03 and I've had it for almost 2 years now. I often end up with the blip, followed by the sound of the engine pulling the revs up just a bit after. Just cant seem to get enough increase in the rpm.

    • @iride1999
      @iride1999  Před 3 lety +1

      I got the stock tube in there and I heard switching for the r6 tube is a good mod. And I know what you mean about the revs getting pulled up but it can also happen when the clutch is not let out fast enough maybe? Just keep practising bro, it will become muscle memory and you won't even know you doing it 👍

      @user-rf9me7xm1w Před 2 lety +1

      Just come across your post. Yes, I too had difficulty in synchronising revs when changing gear. I think it’s due to the fact that the mt 03 hasn’t got a very large flywheel and the revs are very dependent on the throttle position when shifting. This was very apparent when I downsized from a much larger bike. However, with practise, I am now overcoming the issue and shifts are becoming much smoother. Keep at it.

    nice vid bro, +1 sub. anyway, your bike is more than 30000 km right ??? please tell me about your maintenance processes, what you do, which needs to be replaced. thank you, btw I'm a MT03 rider too, my bike is at 19000 km

    • @iride1999
      @iride1999  Před 3 lety +8

      Thanks bro I appreciate that, yeah the bike is pushing 34k now. For maintenance I change my oil every 4k km thats usually when the oil starts getting dark. At around 25k I changed the coolant, brake fluid and spark plugs. The only thing I had to replace was a headlight bulb. These engines are great, at 34k its still sounds butter smooth and its never been taken apart. No doubt it will do another 34k with no issue. One thing I'd keep an eye on is the condition of the bottom of your swing arm, mine started to rust around the welds so had to repaint it.

      I do it every 200 miles and more often if conditions are wet. Best thing to use in my opinion is gear oil, I've had the one chain for 15,000km and still looks new.
