I'm going to do this exercise as I talk to people. Multitasking!
They will be like, "Excuse me, are you clenching your anal sphincter?' Then you say, "Why, yes, I am. You should try it, too!" Good times.
😁🤣
Careful with the letting go part. An uncomfortable question may arrive unexpectedly and leave you unprepared. 😂

I started doing this about a month ago and I was so glad I found this video. It really keeps everything tight down there and my hemorrhoids for the most part are unnoticeable. I’m surprised this information is not widely spread yet! Thank you Dr. Chung.
Surely with an anal fissure you DON'T want it tight? Confused.
@Bus Buss I’m taking medalmucial every morning and this exercise 2-3 times per week. Hemorrhoids are under control. Takes around 2 weeks but you can definitely see muscle getting tighter.

Welcome!
As a lifelong karate practitioner, I can attest that by performing Kegel type exercises, which are part of several katas keep your pelvic floor/anus healthy. They also keep your erections (if you are a man) strong.
I have been doing these types of exercises with breathing for decades and have never had any issues.
I found seven difference references in both yoga and Chinese martial internal training that flexing the sphincter is the secret to storing up the energy in the body. see my first upload for the free link that gives the sources. thanks
@@voidisyinyangvoidisyinyang885I'm familiar with the Chinese martial arts methods, in this area, but although I've done a fair amount of yoga throughout my life, I haven't encountered any of those techniques in yoga. It is all very helpful.
If you never had any issues you can't actually know. If it is to be proven, you need people with the problem. And then have a considerate amount of them getting their problem fixed with only that specific exercise.
It's no better logic than a 90 year old stating they've been smoking since they were ten years old, and that they never had any problems.

What you are saying is not logical or valid.

One doesn't have to be sick to understand what being healthy is like.
and here i am. 5:30am watching butthole workout videos for some reason.
Thank you Dr. Chung ❤
A must add is posture, hoisting your legs on a footstool can help reduce strains.
Hi Dr Chung. I have just had 2 Hemorrhoids banded and I am on the mend after 4 days, I hope anyway!. Still been very careful how I get up and move about. My issue is prior to the procedure and even more now is how I get pain in my bottom, I'm guessing from my external sphincter muscle and Hemorrhoids when I slip or have to suddenly correct my posture for some reason. I am quite an active person and still fit and strong. There seems to be an involuntary shock tightening of this area which can then cause days of pain and aggravate my Hemorriods. Is this a weakness in these muscles that is the problem? is this common? Thanks you.
I had hemorrhoids for about 10 years, then one day around 2011, for no real reason at all, I squatted on the toilet to poop, as in I put my feet up on the toilet, and squatted right down to go. It felt really good and easy to go, so I kept doing it, after a couple of weeks it became second nature and felt like the only way to go.
After about.6 months of doing that, my hemorrhoid issue was gone, and has not been a problem ever again.
I've been squatting over the toilet for over 13 years now. It really is the only way to go, and none of these "squatty potty" stools. When you go, the weight of your body should be on your heels/feet, not your ass.
Funny thing is that’s how all people went to the bathroom till toilets were invented. Meanwhile western culture mocks other countries that still go to the bathroom like that.
Squatting is the way to go
Putting the weight on your heels and feet makes sense
Thankyou
How do you wipe once done?

I had fissure years ago. I cured by doing all these.
I used everyday in the night (before you sleep) stool softner brand name called Cloace. Better if you take this exact same time in the night. Other brands didnt work.
I fixed a hand biddey( can buy it from amazon) to the toilet bowl to use lot of water when I pass poo. When I use the hand bidey little at a time, it sprays water and wet the anus, helps to pass it without irritating the skin. Thats the most important thing not to get skin ripped.
Also I apply baby oil to the place before I start passing poop. It helps a lot. Also I apply baby oil after I am done too. To keep the place moist.
I made sure to do motions everyday at the same time. Please drink a mug full of milk or smoothie or water before. Then you get the urge to go but I know because of the pain you tend to avoid it, but that helps more your poop to dry in the rectum. Stool softener helps to pass it pain freely in the morning.
Ate lot of Kale, Cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli. Its a must.
All these cruciferous veggies helps to pass the stools easily.
Never skip this routine.
You will see the results,
Hope you all will pain free by following this.
I did these exercises for a couple of months and then developed proctalgia fugax, which I’d never experienced before. It was actually one of the most painful experiences I’ve had in my lifetime. Sometimes it struck in the middle of the night. There was no staying in bed when it struck. Each episode lasted for 10-30 minutes. I quit doing the exercises and the proctalgia fugax resolved.
That's insane 😬

Thank you. Helpful.
In the case of haemorrhoids or anal fissures you ought not to have a painful bowel movement with extreme pain. So you should avoid any stool pressure and bleeding due to hard stool. In order to keep off this one take regularly 1 tablespoon castor oil early in the morning on an empty stomach; 1 to 2 hours after having swallowed this dosage you will have an easy bowel movement without any pain.
Do you have anal fissure and haemorrhoids??
@@zareenrashil3810 Having exclusively haemorrhoids I prefer to take castor oil in a regular manner - so I have no problems with these one for I may never press.
Or squeeze lemons I’ve been working for me mix with water every three days
But a one must ckeck the gallbladder for stones prior. Cuz oil consuming will stimulate the organ and make stones move wich will cause extreme pain. So better not to flgive such advise to everyone without the important disclaimer
@@olympiarude1026You are right, for in many contributions I have written, that two assumptions must be fulfilled before taking castor oil internally:
- The ball bladder must be intact and free from gall stones.
- You may not take anstihistamines.
Ok Dr. Chung, I will absolutely be incorporating this more into my regimen. I learned that I have a super hypertonic pelvic floor and that that is causing a delay in healing for my fissure. I have a question for you though. I’m sure you are aware of the Bristol stool chart and that often there is more than one type of stool even in one sitting. (Perhaps you could do a video on this as well?)
For those of us who are trying to only have 1 BM a day, (I do this by consuming low quantities of high calorie food, i.e., nuts and eggs) do you have any suggestions for how to keep the stool that has been in the final descending portion of the large intestine from having so much water pulled out that it exits as painful type 1 stool? I find that it’s always the initial bit of a movement that creates pain and re-tearing, but the rest is perfect type 4. Trying to figure out how to do it without the solution being to just have more BMs in the day as I can really only handle the pain of one. Thoughts?
I want to make a note that I already take 6 Colace a day…🙃
@@karacheney5824 you’re taking colace 6 times a day?
I have been trying to figure out the same thing, its very difficult when only the last portion of the stool remains hard that causes retearing, any suggestions would do great help!
@@saimahye3682 as per doctor Chung that's comet poop, you need to balance the amount of fiber you're taking for it. Not too much not too less. And use stool softener as well and ofcourse adequate water intake

I do yoga and bastrica is an exercise where you exhale all air and tighten all intestinal muscles including the anal muscles. Strengthens everything.
Lol it tickles.
Is that the same as doing vacuums? I’ve been trying to do them whenever I think of it.
@@Intrepid_Insomniacstomach vacuums and kegels are different exercises. Kegel is pelvic floor exercises, abdomen barely moves. Vacuums are mainly transverse abdominal muscles and diaphragm, pelvic floor barely moves.

I’m 70 and gas escapes at unpredictable times and it’s embarrassing. I’m slim and fit but had 3 large babies years ago.
You are the best, thank you!❤❤❤
This is also a great exercise for prostate health
How often and for how long? How many repetitions?
if you got anal fissure then start drinking beetroot and carrot juice but don't filter fibre away twice daily first at morning and second at evening.
you will have soft stool which will not harm your fissure, along with this use different creams i used escort and do sitz bath two times.
this is my personal experience and these things helped me alot make this a habit.
