I am a Saltiga user and bought the gosa for my daughter to start off with, really impressed. Her next reel will be a certate probably. Not sure if I would spend my money on chinesium technology yest yet. It’s the same with cars for me.
Okuma is from Taiwan and not China. I have fished the 14k Tesoro side by side with a 10k Gosa swa with a 14k spool. I didn't like the main shaft being exposed on the Tesoro. The drag knob is squimish and the lower drag settings is a bit tight as well but so is the same size Stella. What stands out for the Tesoro is the cranking power. Ive constantly fished it on a heavy setup and it never felt overwhelmed, or underpowered for the application. Long story short, it is way better. But you won't know until you have used it for a couple of months and after landing some good fish. Only because the Slammer and Gosa have already proven themselves.
100%! I think guys are skeptical to go out and purchase a Tesoro over the known brands. But once you fish with it for a while, and land some proper fish, you see the capabilities of this reel in its own world! We love the Tesoro and can’t wait to add some other sizes to our tackle box!
@@untraceablefishing I think I picked it up when it was mentioned on this channel 6 months back. I got the 14K model on a really good deal. I like the durability of it. The drag clicker is very loud so this is great for me as I tend to fish on rocks/beaches. Also freaks people out when it goes off at piers lol. The reel itself actually feels like a tank and plus it looks great. Had a few people actually ask me what was it. Not many use Okumas here in Australia. My only dislike of it is probably just the drag knob. Feels very smooth but also very tight. Not really a deal breaker as I'm used to it now. I think your comparison is kinda spot on. It's between a Penn and a Saragosa. I also own a Saragosa, Twin Power, Authority etc.
@@plasmoske awesome… super stoked you’re loving it as much as we do! That drag noise gets me every time as well! But you seem to have a variety of top end stuff, so the fact you say you’re enjoying it just shows that it’s a quality product!
@@untraceablefishing Yeah it's a great reel that's flying under the radar. Price, durability, power, performance is what ticks the box for me. But the reel is heavy. It's probably the heaviest of the reels I own. A similar size Saragosa is about 20 grams lighter. And similar size Twin Power is about 80 grams lighter. Not really a problem for me as this isn't used for constant lure casting or anything lol. And if I had to do a drop test, I'd say the Tesoro would probably survive out of all of them. It's built like a tank.
After my recent experience with penn SA on warranty with a 2month old reel, i won't buy another penn product again. Had a 10th of the hassle with rovex than penn. Okuma or shimano is all i will spend money on.
You and many others have had this same comment on our CZcams journey. As much of a Penn fan as we are, it’s sad to see hassles these reels have given so many people
@philipsnyman1407 What reel was it and what was the issue? Ive heard others say the customer service from Penn is horrible also and this is just putting me off from getting a Penn
@@untraceablefishingfinally I get my hands on Tesoro 4000PA after long term thought and after asking you.....big tough decision when to spend on Twinpower when think Tesoro is best bang for bucks...
The quality of the content has been amazing guys keep it up!
Thanks bud- we pushing hard👊🏻
I am glad the smaller ones are here soon, especially for river and lagoon fishing. Keep up excellent work.👌👍
Yeah bud, coming in a 4000 even which is a lekker size for the lighter stuff- we super keen🔥
Nice review, thanks Gents. If the Tesoro is IPX7 and the Gosa IPX8, why would the Tesoro be better sealed?
Sorry, this is a mistake. Will rectify asap.
Thanks for the heads up there🔥

Chinesium🤣 don’t hate- some good stuff coming out of there!
I know you love your Saltiga and Sierra combo🤙🏻 dream reel and rod for almost anyone!

What is the price point of the tesoro. ??
Around R5000 plus minus😎
Does the reel make a knocking noise when you reel it fast and let it spin?
Hey bud
Not at all- have you experienced this?
@@untraceablefishing yes I have a new 18000. And it makes a knocking noise when I reel it fast and let it spin
@@asheeldatharam2932 that’s weird… my 20k doesn’t do that at all🫣

@@asheeldatharam2932 unfortunately not, but will check out an 18k model later in store and let you know if it makes a noise.
