Nuno Costa Yes. It is very evident from the melody that the lyrics itself is following, when heard in contrast to most other Pop songs of this type which are predominantly based on the major scale. Also, I used to train in Indian Classical (vocal) for about 2 years. In Indian Classical this kind of minor scales are ample, and melodic minor scale is very frequently used. And there the lyricses straightaway follow the main melodic lines, and a singer needs to master the sense of the scale cuz there are major portions of improvisations(known tans). So maybe because of that kind of ear training I could detect it. I also cross verified it by checking it out in Wikipedia. I didn't like the lyrics of the song though or the composition itself very much. Still a very interesting and bold effort.

Nuno Costa glad that you have interest. It's a funny thing that now I'm more interested in learning and mastering western music 😅, & you wanto knw about Eastern. Umm...apart frm Ravi Shankar u can search about Tan Sen, Bhim Sen Joshi, Amjad Ali Khan etc. Notably all these above r maestros of string instruments, fr some reason key instruments aren't dat well developed in indian classical. I won't recommend vocal artists such as MS Sabbulaxmi fr u as Indian vocals are a little bit difficult to palate if u are not into it fr a long time, much like metal 😅. Also focus on the Hundustani(North Indian) sub genere rather than its counterpart- Carnatic (south Indian). Cuz North Indian takes some heavy influence from Arabic and some light influence from Western so you may like it better, carnatic is pure eastern and has a more primitive sound.
