- In this week’s episode of Open Gym, veteran Toronto Raptors forward Thaddeus Young returns to Memphis, Tennessee, the city that shaped him, for a game against the Grizzlies. From growing up, to giving back, Young shares his basketball journey which has spanned 7 teams, 16 seasons in the NBA, and multiple business ventures. A leader both on and off the floor, Thaddeus and his wife Shekinah bring their two boys along for the ride - boys that can’t help but put a smile on the faces of everyone they meet.
#Raptors #TorontoRaptors
Thad is one of the nicest NBA players I’ve seen (on screen of course). I really wish him well.
Good Husband, Father and Vet Thad. Keep doing your thang!
Thad Young is the very definition of a Player-Coach. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised to see him as an Assistant Coach in the League after he retires. I like that the Raptors have invested in having so much extra coaching on the team for the younger players to help in their development. I think that it will all pay off in the years to come.
An absolutely Class A indiviidual in all respects. Very impressed that he finished his degree and got a master's too. And his kids are great too - no surprise.
I love having Thad on the Raptors!
Love Thad and hope he stays for a while! We needed a great vet and got Thad. He's a great person and a wonderful dad, too. Very respectable human being!
He can be a part of the ciaching staff. He is not giving us nothing on the court. Did you see last night. Not even leadership was displayed when he was the vet on the court.
Thad is such a winner
Thad is such a beautiful soul and we are very fortunate to have him on our #Raptors! And what a wonderful family he has as well. I hope he stays with us in some capacity once his playing days are over.
Love Thad… all the best on your game.
Lifetime contract!!! At the right price of course ✍️
great episode!!
I really think there was a palpable difference with the bench crew when they came back from the break with him. Seems like an awesome guy and mentor, hope he finishes his career out with us!
Thad is such a great vet
honestly just seeing this guys background and seeing his longevity and touching a lot of peoples lives it’s crazy respect to Thad !
Nothing but positive things to say about Thad.
TORONTO RAPTORS 🇨🇦 WE THE NORTH
TJ - We been to Africa, Asia..
Taylor - We haven't been to Asia
TJ - Yea we have, Dubai
Honestly the vast majority of adults don't even know that the Emirates is in Asia
60.9% accuracy ayo Thad lol.. Make the targets Boucher's face and try again. Shoutout to Thad's wife one of the best NBA moms on Twitter.
great vet. when i saw him get on scottie's ass about taking warm ups seriously and backing up fred, i knew he was worth every penny. hope he can be our haslem if he wants to.
I agree and honestly didn't love scotties response at all
Cool!
21💪❤️💙
Woulda been nice on the Chip team
w parenting
someone tell nick nurse Thad isnt meant to play center.
Nah, fham can't lie. I'm not feeling the vibe of open gym this season, with the way things have been going.
I love Thad but he's starting to become a liability. He can now play the UD role - a bench vet and voice in the locker which is his current greatest strength. In result, more minutes for the likes of Barton, Banton, Flynn, etc.
Shoot the rock with intention to actually score my guy…
too bad we got the version of Thad that is pretty much useless on the court. Great vet to have in the young guys ears on the bench tho
Unfortunately hurting our bench lately
We really traded out of Malaki Branham and Walker Kessler for him bruh sick to my stomach
I am with you. It did not help us having him
Koloko will be a much better player than both. Completely disagree with this comment
@@shanewaters8518 I can gurantee you you haven’t seen either play please stop talking
@@Bandicoot19 Don’t put yourself on blast if you don’t want someone to reply. Walker Kessler has been groomed since a kid to play a monsterous defensive centre style. He has very limited room for development he has peaked out! I have not seen Brahman play nor do I care. Koloko is raw af only playing B Ball for 5 years. Now I’ll stop talking.
@@shanewaters8518 you don’t watch these guys man stop talking Koloko would be lucky to ever get as good as current Walker
After the lakers game, our record perfectly indicates this teams play
Sur
Thad is very likeable. Let's gooooo raptors!!
i like him as a person, but he is washed. he needs to retire
He is too slow to play center.
He is too slow to play period unless it is situational. I think he should be a part of the coaching staff.
@@mollyweir9350 100% agree. He is great voice for the young kids who are immature
thats not Thad's fault, nick nurse has been forcing him to play center when he clearly is too slow and not big enough
Thad isnt good enough
