In this video, I examine multiple dishonest and manipulative Fake LEGO Minifigures listings on eBay and explain how YOU can identify whether the LEGO Minifigures being sold are FAKE or REAL! Watch this entire video to learn about how to protect yourself from being scammed into believing misleading claims by FAKE LEGO sellers!
Fake LEGO Sellers typically focus on these LEGO Set themes:
LEGO Ninjago Minifigures
LEGO Super Heroes Minifigures ( Marvel and DC )
LEGO Star Wars Minifigures
Keep in mind official LEGO Minifigures are usually worth at least $2-$3. If the price seems too cheap, (Ex: 20 LEGO Minifigures for only $22) they are probably fake LEGO minifigures.
Around movie releases, be even more careful. Fake LEGO Marvel Avengers minifigures were everywhere when it was released.
Be careful buying fake LEGO. It can be dangerous and misleading. Buy fake LEGO at your own risk.

When it comes to buying Lego from eBay, if its minifigures just get them from bricklink, I tend to look for real pictures, and always *always* read the description.
I think these are just things to buy for kids who are obsessed with legos to have more characters to play with and make pretend with.
Exactly I got them for my 6 year old sister and she loved them. Kids like to play not collect
@@thierryhandry373 Yeah.
I'll be honest, I buy fake lego sets because it's cheap and some alixpress sets are from moc builders and buying instructions and parts from bricklink can cost alot and some sets that are 500 cost about 120 on fake sellers with parts and instructions. I do understand I should support the moc builder but still cheaper.
I buy fake sets because they are usually harder to get, like the star wars ghost ship that is official lego is crazy expensive because it's old, but on aliexpress I can find one with parts and instructions for about 50 bucks.

But sometimes people cannot afford the official ver.of lego as well
I have actually seen a lot of these Fake Minifigures showing up at comicons and other conventions. I was surprised that many of the sellers would argue that they are actual Lego. Though once I point out the non Lego Stamped components, they change their tone. Though it does not stop them from selling.
One time, I went to a Flea Market and there was a guy selling LEGO Minifigures, what the seller told me was that the figures were customs as they had a more lot design than your average minifigure
Another giveaway can be to check what they're selling. If it's some weird combination like hardware and clothes it's definitely sketchy.
Obviously private people use sites like Ebay too, and should be excepted from this rule.
could also be some general second hand store, which in fact sometimes don't know what their stuff is really worth. But overall if somebody sells a specific minifig (or a group of them), they'll ALWAYS know at least some of the value - they might mistake a 50$ fig for a similar 3$ fig, but never under 1$. Combining the cheapest four parts (blue pants, some "racing" torso, 90s sunglasses head and a black knit cap) from my inventory would still result in a 1,20⏠fig.
It makes me very angry how anyone could make lego or even anything fake, now every time I shop online, Iâm afraid everything is fake
Yet they canât sit down
All I know is that if a âLEGOâ mini figure is under four dollars each, itâs prb fake
Frost Bytes or mighty micros

also star wars battle droids are pretty cheap
The reason they are so oddly named is because those are tags. So when people search up âinfinityâ those listings will appear

One thing I DO like about knockoff figures is there are some hilariously weird ones lol. The weirder they are the more I want them. Also, one question, ABSOLUTELY everything Lego makes (down to the 1x1) says Lego on it. But not the figures, why???
Nils Nyman Iâm pretty sure the figures have it but in hard to notice places (the other side of the arms and the top of the neck and the inside of the stud hole on the head)
@@liamkavanagh4150 And between the studs for the legs. Also every printed torso must have that mark on the neck (it's required for assembly). However between around 1990 and 2010 Lego used heads with an open stud; those in fact did not have any mark.
Well good for you for exposing them SpitBrix!
There is an entire stall at a local flea market that sells ONLY fake Lego and claims that everything is real. Even things like Lego DBZ minifigures, aka something that doesn't even exist to begin with.
I went to a anime convention years back when I didnât look at minifigures for the LEGO branding and these people were selling âLEGOâ minifigs, calling them actual LEGO. Think it was $15 for 3 and I saw at the back of the stall a lady putting the arms off from those individual wrapped bags. I bought a few because I was really excited but didnât know better. Only a year or so later I realize l realized they werenât real. Donât know if that couple selling them didnât know better but still, was disappointing.
While I do not support fakes, however, it's true LEGO priced their minifigures way too expensive.
Let's compare them to hotwheels. For hotwheels, they are made up of metal and plastic parts, together with licensing of the various car brands. They also have top designers designing new castings. It's also bigger than LEGO minifigure in 1:64 scale. Their cost in the US? $0.94 at walmart (I don't live in the US so I do not know the exact pricing. But, a mainline typically cost $0.94)
Meanwhile, LEGO also have designers designing the minifigure, however, they are all plastic AND no bigger than a hotwheels car. Their cost? $3.49 to $4.99.
I don't really justify the price point of minifigures. Yes, I understand there's a gold chase Mr Gold that can go up to $100. However, hotwheels have chases as well (Known as super treasure hunts), and depending on the model, some go as high as $200. I do like LEGO, however, I find myself collecting more die-cast these days...
P.S Plastic cost way cheaper than metal.
I've run into this a lot on Ebay trying to buy Lego dinosaurs.
Thx for putting your time in this for us love dude
Iâm a big eBay shopper for marvel minifigures and luckily Iâm always able to tell if itâs fake in the description and if they say the set numbers. But itâs so annoying everything I search more than half of it is bootleg.
9:25 my mom bought this on Amazon and we were sad that it did not came with the weapons. :'(
I feel bad but dont worry next time buy the real lego if you have alot of money in the future
This literally happened to me in a harsh way. I wanted to buy Ninjago City, I found it on eBay, and the seller put the original photo for the set, and I checked out the brand, the country, and I made sure that it is original and I ordered it with a price of 490 dollars and it arrived after 2 months and when I got it, it showed me a Chinese fake Ninjago set and it wasn't even a fake Ninjago City it was a fake Star Wars set! I looked up the original price for the fake Star Wars set and it was only ten dollars, so not only it came the wrong set and not original but the seller stole from me 450 dollars!!!
So the buyer stole from me 490 dollars!!! Sorry I wrote 450 it was a typo.
I hope you got a refund! I also hope eBay banned that seller for scamming!
I think there are two schools of thought here. 1) You have the shameless knock offs where they are just like existing products. That's wrong. Whereas 2) you can get figures that aren't knock offs but rather figures that have been customized that aren't based on existing sets. I feel like there is a separate place for those (Brickmania for example).
I didnât noticed this when I got it but I got a fake Darth Vader and his head was glued on
Darth Vader falls to his knees:
âNOOOO!!â
The moment he said those bikes were fake they popped up on my eBay đ
No true lego fan would fall for this, they bought enough lego sets to know what's real and what's fake
I go to Ali Express specifically looking for the Enlighten brand knowing their quality is quite high compared to their low prices, but Ali Express sellers will sometimes put other bootlegs like Lepin or the like up and put "Enlighten" in the tags to catch my searches. Same principles apply.
Since Lego is tracking down on fakes now, the fakers have switched to stealing designs from legit Chinese brands or from MOCs.
How fake looks like:
1. The coloring are too bright.
2. The plastic quality is too smooth and too cheap.
3. The shape are dispropotion.
A friend of mine got that marvel figures pack from his parents. It is a shame that these scamers get money for stealing other peoples ideas.đĄ

Wait I can buy a ton of battle droids for cheap and have a massive droid army? Even if they are not Lego quality, it's not like the separatists made them to that level of quality.
Another giveaway that you didnât mention really was that if the mini figs are with different mini figures from different universe such as at 9:20. Marvel doesnât normally go with DC!
I actually buy fake Lego, actually quite a lot of it. But I only buy it when itâs really cheap. And the only reason I do it is because I like to set it on fire, blow it up, and I just straight up enjoy destroying it
I admit, I've bought some of the Ali express Bionicle g2 and Marvel figures, as a MOC creator, the ones that try to be original are handy when you need parts in colours that Lego did not officially release, CCBS shells in green, dark blue and dark red for example...

So one time at a mall during christmas time I got a present from Santa (It was my dad's anual work holiday party). I shook it a little and was exited to hear the rattle of those little bricks. But I opened it up and found out that it was a knockoff lego set from a company called KREO. But the minifigures had CHEEKBONES. Also, the rumble platform turned off after like a minute (there was only an on button) and every time it turned of a pre-recorded voice shout ethusiastically "KREO!"

I bought a Deadpool minifig off of Bricklink, and there was something really off about how he felt compared to other minifigs. I contacted the seller and he shipped out a new set of legs, and they still felt wonky. I ended up buying a used set that Deadpool came from off of eBay, and there were some differences in the print, the used one had thicker outlines, eyes not being pure white, the usual issues I wish LEGO could do better. So what was the seller on Bricklink selling me? Iâm assuming the pieces were real, just cleaned off and reprinted with whatever super hero.
Spitbrix you know the fake LEGO you showed at 0:52? Well I bought it thinking it was real lego.I spent all my pocket money (14 pounds)! I like how you are exposing these sellers because I don't want other people to buy this thinking it's real lego and being disappointed once they realise it's fake!
I usually only acquire complete minifigs from sets, but have bought some bulk minifigs parts and accessories (ex: 3/4 lb. of loose torsos, heads, legs, hair/helmets and weapons/tools, etc. In those cases, there are always some non-LEGO parts, but they're not usually hard to identify. However, I have a lot of maroon pieces--brick elements--that I am concerned are not genuine LEGOs due to the fact that they break
Sorry...got shanghied in mid-sentence....due to the fact that they break easily. Usually the plate pieces have been the most brittle, and always only maroon. They don't seem to handle stress like a LEGO does. And with 3D printers, I imagine it is rather easy to manufacture fake pieces from home. Which is fine if its for one's personal collection and they have lower standards or just need large amounts of certain elements for a MOC, but they are a pain in the butt . Has anyone else had brittle maroon pieces, or did I get unlucky with a bulk lot purchase?
reddish brown Lego from around 2008 is known to break and dark red (which I guess you are referring too) might too.
About fake minifig parts: The vast majority of fakes I find in bulk are in fact very easy, as they have slightly different molds. Then there are a few with bad printing⊠And then I have a pair of City/Train figures: Perfect printing, perfect molding; just missing the "Lego" mark on the pieces. I only did spot them, because I was already very critical on that bulk for very many other non-Lego pieces including some quite specific stuff probably from the same set.
Thanks I was going to try and get some ninjago mini figures for my collection and it turns out some of the ones I was looking at were fakes thanks spitbrix you saved me a good amount of money
