We stayed in July and we loved it! We did a split stay, prioritizing Epcot and DHS on the days we were there with only one MK day because of transportation. It happened to be very cold and some days are very rainy which was not great for use of the amenities and all the walking. But we still loved it and can't wait to stay there again.

I love Boardwalk and how close it is to Epcot and Hollywood Studios! It's great to be able to walk to 2 parks.

Have a great trip! Hoping/assuming these light crowds will continue which should be fantastic.

Those who don't like the long hallways will have to make a sacrifice. There's no such thing as the perfectly place hotel room. All have their pros and cons. A very long hallway is a compromise either way so think carefully about it. If it's off-season, maybe you can consider a room closer to the elevators so you don't have to deal with the long walks. If it's busy all the time, consider a room farther down. Being close to the elevators means putting up with loud pedestrian traffic (and I'm not talking about those over age 18!) at odd times of the day straight into the night. You might want to get one halfway down the hall so it's not too much of a walk.
I had to deal with this at Universal's massive Cabana Bay. The walk to my room was so long that a light jog to the elevator and back was sufficient for a morning workout! On the other hand, I was treated to an awesome night time view of the volcano at the next door water park lighting up at night AND the room was very quiet since nobody wanted to put up with the long walk to the elevators.

I love all five of the EPCOT hotels. The one thing I would complain about with Boardwalk is they are the last stop on the (shared) bus and boat routes. That means there is a good chance you and your party will not find a seat, and returning, you will be the last stop.

We usually get off at whatever stop is first on the loop. We love the crescent lake walk!

Do you happen to know where they stop first?

If it's the buses, then it's theme park or Disney Springs, Yacht, Beach, Boardwalk, then back to wherever it's going (which is usually the same as pickup). So, Boardwalk is last to get dropped, and the last to get picked up.
If it's the Friendship, then it depends on which direction it is traveling. From Hollywood Studios it goes Swan & Dolphin, Yacht/Beach, Boardwalk, EPCOT. Going from EPCOT, it might be Boardwalk, first, but I thought I remembered it being Yacht/Beach then Boardwalk, Swan/Dolphin, Hollywood Studios.
