They have replaced all the actors and he said Doom's voice murdered his vocal cords and he was afraid of loosing his Goku voice, so it's unlikely.

I mean they did add him into, what, Sonic Dash or something (whatever those mobile games are called) only a year or two ago, right? They did acknowledge him there, and Gens itself wasn't scared to full-on embrace 06 reputation at a time where 06 was bringing them way more hot water than now, so it's not impossible.
This is the Year of Shadow!! He’s gonna be in the third movie and now this!
And his time in Prime Season 3, despite its writing, was consistently great!

It would be cool though if they expanded Generations with new levels from games that came out past its initial release (Mania, Forces, Frontiers, Superstars) or maybe even some from the handheld titles that were previously omitted (Advanced, Rush, Rivals)
@@leonpgut I could see a "Neo-modern" era with Windy Hill from Lost World, Studiopolis from Mania, and Sunset Heights from Forces as well as a "Future" era with Eternal Highway from Frontiers, Speed Jungle from Superstars, and a stage from Dream Team.
If there’s one thing I want changed it the goddamn Time Eater fight. My god, that fight needs an overhaul.

according to the timeline, Generations' time is way past the 06 timeline. Also, does anyone know what setback Eggman is talking about in generations?

Funniest thing I've seen this year
After what happened with Sonic Colours Ultimate...I hope they don't touch a thing regarding the original game except add more music and power ups(None of that Easy Mode with Tails. Honestly, Colours was already easy and they made it even more broken, both gameplay and glitches. XD). I hope the Shadow part of this game isn't just two or three short levels like in Forces.
What I hope to see is at least 3 big (Generations quality) level remasters with the 3rd I'm guessing from 06 since we already have Biolizard and Final Chase, Black Doom and I'm guessing Westopolis and maybe a 06 level with hopefully Mephiles.
The story may be Shadow proving once and for all that he put the past behind him, and maybe a Maria cameo too.
But this is all just my hopes and dreams for this game...Just don't fuck this up Sega!

I think what we’re looking at here is a Spider-Man Miles Morales type of situation.
Miles Morales’ campaign was roughly 1/3 of the size of the original Spider-Man game, but it had loads of new mechanics and really shook up the gameplay. Plus certain editions of the game included a remaster of the PS4 game along with it.
The way they talk about this game“including a remaster of the original” makes it sound like Shadow Generations might be a standalone title. I just don’t think it will be very big. At best, maybe half the length of the original Generations, and likely without a lot of the side missions. But they’re making up for that with all the cool in-game animations like what Frontiers did.

I am a bit worried because the Shadow levels remind me a lot of Sonic Forces. I also hope that there is enough content in the game or at least a lot of replayability because Sonic Generations is a short game but does have a lot of replayability. I also think that it is good that the game will be released near the time that Sonic The Hedgehog 3 is released.
Sonic Forces was great so being reminded of it is not a problem in my mind. I'd rather it remind me of Forces than Frontiers.

Stuff from the shadow the hedgehog game feels like it fits in perfectly into generations, the whole game feels like a love letter to all of sonic including the missteps so this just feels right at home!
I'm loving this! Only, I'm of the opinion that Generations perfected the controlls so I hope they don't stray too far for this game.

It would be cool if Shadow and Sonic can play each other's stages. This is the only good concept from forces that should return. Also the option to turn off boosting affecting the music.
I think he's kicking the pod Sonic was shot out into space in during SA2 but I haven't played recently enough to know for sure.
I think it’s amazing that they’re bringing and remaking Radical Highway and Biolizard stuff for Shadow which was in the 3DS version but was Werid cause sonic did those even though it was always SHADOWS DOMAIN! This is awesome
I cannot believe this is actually real. I am so excited for Sonic X Shadow Generations, especially for the new Shadow side story.
I seriously thought this was just going to be a rumor and nothing more. I had heard about Sonic x Shadow in a Generations format, but I didn't think it would be real! I was just as surprised as everyone else was! Shadow's gameplay looks SOOOOOO cool, and the fact that Black Doom is solidified into the Sonic lore as a huge part of Shadow's reason for existing is a BIG deal! Really awesome! I hope the campaign lasts more than FOUR HOURSSSSSSS at least. :D

Now that would be incredible! It already seems like Shadow's model is a cleverly repurposed Frontiers Sonic model (heh, look at his teeth when he's flying, reminds me precisely of Frontiers Sonic), so hey, that feels possible.

Are we gonna see Mephiles again? Cause, whether you like it or not, he IS a pretty big part of Shadow's arc. Hell, Shadow's portion of 06' is the only thing that's almost universally liked storywise.

Okay for real, Holy Crap! If it wasn't 8:30 in the morning for me, I'd have been yelling myself hoarse as well. While it's not my number one favourite game in the franchise, I love Generations so I was happy enough to simply get a remaster for current consoles and hopefully the freakin' controller remapping bug on Steam gets sorted out this time as well. Seeing Shadow get his own campaign that doesn't appear to be a half-assed 3-Stage episode that lasts all of 20 minutes is so exciting. My favourite character getting all the love this year!
I really hope for the remaster of generations maybe the missions above the stages will have more level locations like Ice Cap, Leaf Forest, Mystic Cave, Crazy Gadget, Red Mountain or Radical Train!

It feels so GOOD to finally see the Biolizard and Black Doom being given the Generations treatment. The higher poly count makes their designs that much more appealing (veins and all 😂) Biolizard especially is awesome because he WAS a boss in Generations… the 3DS version at least, so now people can see him in the main version of the game!

I hope the Shadow part at least as long as the vanilla gens itself (Gens is already a pretty short game)

I gotta say, as happy as I am with this Generations re-release with added content, I don’t think Generations needed a re-release to begin with. Sadly, if Sega is willing to let such an opportunity to remake the adventure games slip away, with the whole Sonic movie 3 and all, it probably means we shouldn’t expect anything Adventure related for the next decade or two, if ever. This speaks volumes about Sega’s willingness to touch those games.

We've haven't seen Shadow for a long time ever since Forces' DLC. And now, Shadow will finally shine again!!!

They remake Sonic Generations and everyone's reaction is mid. They added Shadow and everyone loses their minds!
I think there's a really interesting topic to be had here that I haven't really been seeing people discuss, and that's precisely to do with the fact that this will be "Sonic Generations" content again. Sonic Generations as a game is one of the few in the 2010's that basically had a pedigree of being "super polished" and a lot of that was due to the talent that still worked at Sonic Team at the time, which now work for Nintendo... So I know people enjoy Sonic Frontiers, but if we're to be honest with ourselves, I'd hardly call it a "polished experience", so ultimately, the question is this:
Will Sonic X Shadow Generations return that pedigree of polish that we know Sonic Generations to so tightly uphold? Personally, I'm incredibly skepticle because Sonic Team's level design has not been good as of late, to be blunt. The "open world" of Frontiers while fun, is a crutch that doesn't demand intricate layouts and skill from the player to navigate without becoming grind-rail-galore or dash-panel-despair.
I understand I might upset people with this, but I believe it's a reasonable concern, given we haven't actually *had* a Sonic experience like Generations in over a decade.
No, the cyber stages do not even come close with how short they are and how lacking those controls are compared to Generations.
Something interesting to notice is how the leakers said that the game was going to use hedgehog engine 2 for the remaster but the trailer only shows it on the shadow part my guess is that the gameplay of gens they showed was just the normal pc version but who knows

Honestly, I wasn't expecting a story where Shadow goes through his past, I was only expecting him to be playable in the base game stages. This is better than I thought it would be!
Also, Black Doom and the Biolizard is back?! I'm curious about how their boss fights are gonna be (mostly Black Doom), especially his role in the story. I hope Shadow is playable in Sonic's stages (just like in Forces), it would add a lot of replayabilty to the base game!
Although, considering this is a remaster of Generations, I wonder what the price is gonna be. If it's past $30, I *might* wait until it goes on sale. Don't really like the idea of buying a game I already own, unless it's cheap enough.
I’m definitely hopeful but very scared for it. And I really hope they didn’t put in old footage of generations and then clip the new shadow stuff to it to make it seem like it’s in the same game. The shadow gameplay did have a lot of forces elements to it, which is strange since they moved the game over to Hedgehog engine 2… so they could’ve just copied the assets over from the original port and built off of that? But again, the shadow gameplay looks like forces as apposed to the regular gens gameplay, so idk. Also, really hoping that they go with the story you said about going through his past. It’s a very good direction to take it to help him for the future.

I feel like what they should do is have the Shadow rival boss's dialog changed to be less "I am a villain mwahaha" and more like actual Shadow The Hedgehog. They should also make the Shadow story unlock after beating him

Hopefully they write Shadow like he was in Sonic Prime and Sonic 06 cuz in Sonic Boom and Forces they treated him like a villain.

He wasn't a villain in Forces, he DID save Sonic from Phantom Shadow, but he was DEFINITELY a villain in Boom, though.

It’s not so much that Dooms Eye is messing with Reality but that Dooms Eye is messing with the Space in that Reality.
If this is supposed to be a memory of Dooms Eye, then there has to be something special about Dooms Eye that’d make it more of a threat in the Shadow story, because the official statement is that “Black Doom re-emerges”. Not that Shadow is encountering a memory of Black Doom, more that somehow the ACTUAL Black Doom is coming back. (I don’t think I’m making sense: just know that this may be due to Time Eater shenanigans and maybe due to the fact that Black Doom may have a portion of the power of an elder god (the “Power” Deity as I’ve affectionately titled it; go figure, just another entity along the lines of The End (The End is the Phantom Deity/aka the Reality Deity))
Just think of it as this: Dooms Eye affecting this Space as to Doctor Strange affecting the Mirror Dimension in the MCU. He’s not manipulating reality more than he’s manipulating the space in that reality.
