    This is the slow song on the album. The rest is fast and heavy.
    As for "are they still making music?"
    About that...😔
    Alexi was a true guitar hero in every sense of the word. Absolutely lived his craft. Sheer 🔥 guitar solos and riffs on every single album.

    Oh CoB, my very first metal band I ever listened to. R.I.P. Alexi Laiho, the vocalist and lead guitarist. One of the best guitarists.🤘🏻 Please react to Children of Bodom - Kissing The Shadows (lyrics).

    I was fortunate enough to see them one last time before they disbanded and before we lost Alexi. You should explore their music whether you can find decent live shows or not. Even their studio recordings are 🔥

    I knew you would enjoy the song. Try some Dark Tranquillity- "Misery's Crown"
    Or, the track before this one on the album is "Bodom Beach Terror". You'll love it.

    Have you been sleeping on them? Yes. I didn't love much of their later music, but I will say that the Follow the Reaper (2000) album is fucking required metal listening IMO. It was pretty formative for my little 14ish year old brain. It may have even been one of the CDs I mailed to you back in the day. Highly recommend the song Kissing the Shadows.

    It's the band that created melodic death metal. If you like the genre check out other bands like Kalmah.

  • @NRGFLOGaming

    You should check out the rest of the "Hate Crew Deathroll" album, it's by far one of their best albums. Sadly, the band is no more and their lead singer, Alexi Laiho passed away a few years ago. Their first six albums are very good, after that they started to get stale - music wise.

    • @TheAspiringFitnessGuru
      @TheAspiringFitnessGuru Před 2 lety

      Yes definitely check out this whole album. It's heavy and melodic. Bodom Beach Terror is one of their best songs ever. Also check out Hatebreeder and Follow the Reaper albums, but just know they are a little less heavy and more melodic/power metally.

    Listened to them with your reaction here, and just like before when I tried getting into them, not a big fan of theirs. Not a big fan of the vocals. Musically, they're more focused on lead guitars than most of the metal I like. I prefer more of the bass and drums driven metal, and more clean vocals. Max Cavalera, Rob Zombe while he was in White Zombie, JMann, and Waylon are about the only vocalists I really like that stray into the cookie monster vocals style. Children of Bodom just hasn't been my thing each time I've tried listening to them. I have had several friends love them, and just haven't been able to get into them.
    And you know I gotta recommend you some White Zombie. Just being around gaming and movies, you may have heard More Human Than Human, not recommending that one, too easy. Try Welcome to Planet Mother Fucker, or Thunderkiss '65 off their album La Sexorcisto Devil Music Vol 1. Feed The Gods from the Airheads movie soundtrack. Electrichead Pt 1, Supercharger Heaven, or Electric Pt 2 off their album Astrocreep 2000. They only had two major album releases, that were both very different. La Sexorcisto was an amazing groove metal album. Astrocreep was an amazing industrial metal album. They released a techno remix of Astrocreep album, just before they broke up. Skip it. Then Rob Zombie split and went solo, with the drummer from Astrocreep joining him. White Zombie was only band that ever knocked Anthrax off my favorite band title. They're number 2 for me, just don't have the body of work of Anthrax.

      See I hate cookie monster vocals, which I feel a Lot of metal bands have. Alexi never really had that kind of vocals. Especially earlier Alexi was more of a growl than a scream. That's one of the reasons I fell in love with them. I think his vocals are way better than a lot of metal vocals. Especially his signature "yeeyow!" Scream.

      @@weabooreacts9853 Yes, very tragic. You could check out his last song that was released shortly after his death czcams.com/video/scgnSjvwoJ8/video.html . Basically it's Children Of Bodom under a new name. It's very good.
