- The first PlayStation 2 game I ever owned, and a damn fine Castlevania game, if for no other reason than for providing an incredible prequel story for the entire series.

Love that line. "I'll kill you and the night. Such an awesome Castlevania game.

It's such a cheesy line, but the voice acting somehow made it sound epic.
I love Leon's final monologue with Mathias and how he expresses his love for Sara.
Its powerful and this game is beautiful even to this day.

So Soma Cruz being the REINCARNATION of Dracula and fight to subdue the darkness within him TWICE doesn't count as something different? What about Richter merely seeking to rescue his loved ones, including the unlockable Maria Renard? And Shanoa was a FEMALE character who had every reason to seek revenge, even if she had all the emotional exuberance of a rock.
And Hideo Kojima directing the series? Uh, no. Much as I love Metal Gear, the Castlevania series is a different beast entirely.
Correct, although Lords of Shadow starts a different timeline altogether. Damn reboots.
I like this game too, a very good beginning to the series.

Are you kidding me? it looks like one of the best Castlevania games I've ever seen. It's got loads of famous actors all of which are british which is a huge improvement over the other games. The gameplay also looks amazing as well.
And from this fateful day, the long war between the clan with men born with flamboyant hair, and Dracula began.
Walter Bernhard is such a badass!! Voiceover is perfect!!

I know, I know. Metal gear is completely different from Castlevania. I just ment that the story for Metal Gear is much more deep than just revenge. That's why I thought Kojima could make a better story to go along. and your right. Not every protagonis in the game wishes to avenge a loved one. Order of Ecclesia was the first one I ever played. I love it. I just ment that all the 3D Castlevania games have had that kind of protagonist.
is any one did not know walters voice actor is the same voice actor for garen in league of legends
Mathias' voice is the one guy from Genesis of Aquarion. The blonde-haired guy, brother of Sylvia. His name escapes me.
@Derpino Welitu Mathias is the real dracula. Gabriel lives in a parallel world. As in the real storyline there was never a Gabriel Belmont
guess dracula would end up learning the hard way what it feels like to lose a beloved and to live for eternaty without her
Considering there are only three 3D Castlevania games, I don't see how it's a big deal.
Anyone else who found the camera angles in this game superb...? I remember cursing by the name of every god and devil I knew when I fought Walter, running back and forth from his explosions and not seeing where the hell he was...

As far as damaging Walter, I found the Cross weapon with the white orb does the most damage.

lords of shadows is a reboot to the series, dracula from lords of shadow is gabriel and dracula from the original series is mathias.
Hi man. Remember me? I'm the guy that thought that Hideo Kojima could make a good castlevania game that you denied would ever happen. No doubt you already know about Lords of Shadow by now but all I have to say is. YES! WHO SAID WOULD HAPPEN? THAT'S RIGHT! ME! I TOLD YOU SO!.....sorry I just had to get that off my chest.
I never knew the attack where a wall of fire came at u had a limit so I us2 perfect guard it in order to avoid getting hit
Looks good, sure, but the whole 'reboot' vibe that's being floated and the over-the-top God of War antics makes me wonder if this'll really feel like good ol' Castlevania. Personally, I think Legacy of Darkness is the one 3D Castlevania that got most things right (see my new vid).

There are so many details this game left incomplete...does another game explains them?Is Mathias really Dracula,or is it Gabriel?i´m pretty confused now...=/

bad thing that ever happened to me is that i got a ps2 and got this game free in a yard sale it only shows the now loading screen blinking and then it shows black screen I REALLY WANT TO PLAY THIS

indeed in a way Walter would get his retribution against A Dracula not THE Dracula but one at least seems he used to the dark lord before him and what not
I like the Castlevania series but why is it that all the male characters feel that they must seek revenge for the death of their loved ones. Leon, Mathias, hell even Hecter from Curse of Darkness. I think they could make a little bit of better reason for fighting evil. I wish Hidao Kojima had been involved with this project. He is such a good story teller. I think he could have come up with a better reason for the characters to fight dracula.

The game's a year away, there's no playable version yet and Castlevania's track record in 3D is great-but-far-from perfect. Too fucking soon to start tooting your horn.
