    The Blizzard was also sold in Australia - not just the Japanese domestic market. I bought one brand new from a Brisbane dealership in 1982. They were essentially the F50 Daihatsu body with full steel roof with gutters (Not a bolt on fibreglass roof as seen here). The name badges had the L & I very close together and is how mine got nicknamed the "Buzzard"....in fact a lot of people thought that is what they were actually called until they were shown that there was indeed a gap in the badge, and what looked like a U was actually an L and an I.

    Why don't we have anything like this in Australia. I always thought that the Toyota Land Cruiser history in Australia was more significant than from the USA ?

    • @trueAK
      @trueAK Před 4 lety +1

      We lack of people like Greg Miller .. and if we do we’d got the tall puppy syndrome

    • @swiliarms
      @swiliarms Před 4 lety +2

      It started in America, sales and population in America kept it going. Australians were annoying enough and nowadays love to spend cash on the LC so the Japanese allow us to buy them. Prob best to keep it in America, it's a tribute to the Yanks for helping invent an awesome vehicle.

    • @trueAK
      @trueAK Před 4 lety +2

      Steve Williams Very well said, also tribute to Mr Miller and staff for running LCHM.

    Were there any Bundys there? What about 105s? I believe the US market only got IFS 100s, including with 1FZs

    • @MadMatt4WD
      @MadMatt4WD  Před 4 lety +1

    There was a land cruiser made just before the first ‘land cruiser ‘ that not many people know about that was sent to a Queensland Australia mines for testing around 8 of them with tin for body panels and Toyota told them to crush them but 3 where saved and I know of one that is still going not sure what happened to the other two
