    For some of you that may not know, always keep your old PSU cables in the same box as the PSU that they came with. Never mix full modular PSU cables with other PSU's. It could fry your PSU and or your computer.

    • @ozgurpeynirci4586
      @ozgurpeynirci4586 Před 10 měsíci +1

      This is so true and reason for those wonder is voltage polarity will not be managed properly if you mix cables that belong to different manufacturers, even those of same manufacturers in some cases.
      And reason for that is different pin layout schema that different cables follow since there is no industry standard in this.
      TL;DR: IF YOU LACK CABLES EITHER DIRECTLY ASK YOUR OWN MANUFACTURER OR DON'T EVEN BOTHER.

  • @SergioVallejoSolano

    Hi, I recently purchased a PSU like this one you're showing in your video. I've been noticing a specific noise when the fan kicks in. I can hear it because my setup is very quiet, so even the slightest sound stands out. It's not the sound of air flowing, it's more like... I don't know how to describe it exactly, but it reminds me of the sound a fridge makes when it turns on. Obviously, it's not as loud or intense as a fridge, but it's that kind of electrical hum. I've noticed similar sounds in other CZcams videos when the fan starts to spin. I was wondering if you experience the same noise with your PSU and if it's considered normal?

    • @flashhobbies
      @flashhobbies  Před 9 měsíci

      I’ve never had a noise with mine. My system is loud though. I have a 3 fan aio and it makes a lot of noise. Some noise shouldn’t be an issue. I’d be more concerned with a grinding noise.

    Hey I have the exact same PSU, was wondering how is your PC doing? I see you've done a daisy chain which seems to be something people frown upon. And there are also people who are against using third party PCIE cables because it'd fry your PC. So I am kinda stuck right now as I am not sure what to do...

    • @flashhobbies
      @flashhobbies  Před 11 měsíci

      Not a single issue. It is frowned upon to daisy chain and use third party cables but I did research on the cables I bought and they are rated the same as the cables that came with the psu. I’ve never had any issues with voltage or anything related to electrical.

    I have a question. I have a Msi Tomahawk b450 max, ryzen 5 3600 with a geforce rtx 2060 with a low power supply unit (forgot the wattage) used it for about 3 years with no problems.
    I just upgraded to a ryzen 9 5900x with an Msi rtx 3080 ti and new power supply, same as yours but black.. using same motherboard. Connected all wires correctly and I'm getting the red light for the "cpu" with "no signal" on monitor. I have tried everything, nothing seems to be working. Do I need a new motherboard? I have read on many different platforms that it will still work, just going to lose a minor amount of bandwidth which I don't really care about. I don't know how to fix it, it's driving me crazy, been at it for a whole day. Do you or anyone know a solution to the red light? I resetted the cmos, took the battery out put it back, nothing seems to be working and idk what the issue is.

      Depends what gpu. Im pretty sure i googled correctly, that one cable supports 150 watts, so if your gpu uses 200 you want 2 cables. If its an older or lower watt card you can daisy chain them.

    I have the same psu ,it's relly nice ,only one thing ,and it's so important, you should buy one more pci-e cable for your gpu because is not recommended use 2 only when your gpu needs 3 ,okay both cables has 2 connectors at the end but you are forcing to pass trough 1 cable the power that should pass by 2 . In my case I have a rx6800 xt gaming z trio from msi and need 3 for that I bought 1 more for this psu and let get power smoothly my gpu.

      I have to wonder the same thing. I've had this PSU for 4 years and never had an issue with it. But I upgraded my GPU from a 5700XT (which has 1x 6pin and 1x 8pin connector) to a RX6900XT (which has 2x 8pin connectors) and since the swap, I always have an issue where it will take several attempts at hitting the power button before the PC posts. I have always used the PCIe splitter cable that plugs into 1-PCIe port on the PSU to 2x 8pin GPU plugs. This PSU has several PCIe outputs and I'm wondering if just coming off of one for this huge GPU, is enough. Thinking about trying one cable per 8pin connector on the GPU. So that would be 2 cables. But where are you needing a 3rd cable? I have not seen a GPU with more than 2x 8pin inputs?
