Showing my age: when cassettes were the thing, the main album would be on the A side. Artists would put a bunch of songs that didn’t make it onto the album onto the other side of the tape or the “B-side”. It’s not necessarily worse or not as good. It’s just songs that didn’t make it into the album but they wanted to give to fans anyway. The listener could play through the A side, flip the tape, and play the B side.
I think BTS did a “b-side MV” to keep in line with the retro theme. This is a video of takes that didn’t make it into the main MV for fans to enjoy. Super smart of them. They really appreciate their fans. This is filled with classic BTS moments and inside jokes. 💜💜💜

it's a reference to a classic variety show called infinity challenge! there was a gag where Hongchul (a korean entertainer) showed how to apply moisturizer in a manly way. Both the shooting movement and the hands thing jk did are references to it lol
B side refers to LP albums on vinyl that had two sides.The "hit" songs that got radio play were on the A side and filler b-side music would surround 2-3 hit songs to make full albums.That's how big labels like RCA packaged and sold them. Sometimes a b side song would be better even if it wasn't promoted because it was more experimental or meaningful to the artist. Sometimes b sides would be different versions of one song. So the b side of "Dynamite" video was the version they decided not to go with even though the song itself was the same. I like the b side of "Dynamite" more.

I was born in the 60s and back in the old days we used to listen to 45 rpm vinyl records and they had the A and B side, and B side was another version of the song. This is a retro concept so of course they would do the B side hahaha I just love them!
A b-side is when you flip a vinyl record for extra content! The A-side (upside) usually has the main songs on them while the B-side has extra tracks or mixes on it
It makes sense to call it a B-side because they’re going with the whole 70s vinyl record shop theme!

45 (RPM) vinyls (singles or 45s) had A-sides and B-sides. The A-side was the single, the B-side was the 'filler'. Another retro term, appropriate for this CB! For instance, the first 45 I ever bought (I was born in 1970!) was 'Dancing Queen' by ABBA. 'Dancing Queen' was the A-side, 'That's Me' was the B-side.

B side is originally the optional edit of a song that was recorded for vinyl in the 70's. You could purchase a full album vinyl, or a single. B sides were for singles records known as 45's and were smaller in size than a full album. Sometimes, the B side track would become as popular or even more popular than the A side. BigHit took that theme (being that this is a disco song) and applied it to the mv. Pure genius! From the looks of things, the B side is very popular so far 👍

it's actually called bside because the audio they used for the second video is the acoustic remix, which is part of the extension of Dynamite where the original, instrumental, acoustic and edm remix is found. and bside means non-title tracks bc these remixes aren't rlly labeled title (bc the title track is the original ver of dynamite)
Back in the olden days the B side was the flip side of a record. You literally flipped the vinyl over to get to the second half of the album. On a single, it often had a remix on the b side.

Come on over here young bucks and sit by grandaddy. When they made vinyl record single 45rpm, you had the main single on the A side, and another single on the other side of the record- the B side- that they weren't really trying to promote as a single. It was just there as a bonus. Although sometimes B sides became bigger hits than the A side song. Some even had double hits. The full album LP 33 1/3rpm records normally had the entire album recorded on one side because they are larger. Cassette tapes also had an A and B side because full albums normally couldn't find on one side of the tape, but the meaning there isn't quite the same. BTS's meaning is more of an "alternative version" of the original A side being played on the B side. Some B sides used to contain instrumental versions of A sides.

When you bought a single record it was a small 45rpm, the single was on one side and the B-side was another song from the LP, but maybe not the one they thought would make it big in the charts & be heavily promoted.

Do you know the 1970-1990 cassettes? B-side is when you turn around that old cassette. A-side with a few songs and then the B-side with the rest of the songs.

For those too young, the B-side is just the other side of a cassette tape. Tapes didn't have unlimited storage so you had to record on both sides. Sometimes it was special on the B-Side. They're just playing with the CASSETTE tape them. 💜💜 NOT to be confused with a B-SIDE. 😂😂
If you guys remember the time of cassettes, there was an a-side and a b-side because. You had to flip it to continue the music after a few songs. I think that's where the term originated. But in modern day, b-side just means everything that's not the title track. The fact that they named the mv a b-side is interesting, I think it's a first
what I get from the B-side is that this is a second music video compiled of the remaining cuts that didn't make it in the final (ACTUAL MV) just like extra scenes, deleted scenes and bloopers these were scenes where usually you'd cut away but instead of leaving those or deleting those, they knew this song was a banger and everybody loves it, so they're smart and said why not give them the song AGAIN, "new content" same banger, more fans getting addicted to the song. I say it's pretty smart

They called it B-side. because of the vinyl. This is all retro era, so back in the days when you had a vinyl you got the title on one side and the B-side on the back of the vinyl (you play them on both sides) So that's why they shoot an original MV and a second one with a more personal side of the boys but the same song.

Back in the day, you'd buy an album or a cassette, and you'd be able to play both sides. The A side, and the B side. You had to have a b side, otherwise you'd just put out a single/album with a blank backing, which would be a rip off to your audience. Usually B side songs (when referring to a vinyl/cassette single, not an album) were songs that weren't considered worthy to go on an album, but good enough to not go to waste. That's not always the case, though, because several old school groups would put out a double a sided single or put a b-side on that was just as good as the a-side because they wanted it to get more attention. Radio DJs had more say in what played back then, so if they needed time to fill, sometimes they'd play a b-side of a popular artist, for example. When CDs came around...all of that started to kind of go away. So I think they were referencing that because they were offering the single for sale on vinyl and cassette, so this is the "b side" of the music video. Edit to add: Footage you don't necessarily need to use that you take to fill in your video is called B-Roll footage. Tied into the a-side, b-side thing directly. So it was probably a play on both for BTS.
